New Land
It was just an ordinary summers day. The Autobots were oppressing, and us Deceptcions? Kicking some serious aft as per usual! Some of us training, others off on jobs or planning; me on the other hand. I was having a monthly flight check as I like to keep my wings in their prime... But this time I just wanted to decrease the chances of them failing as I shall soon be heading out to another part of this mud ball. "Ok Lightning, everything looks good. But are you sure you want to go for a test flight? I mean, don't you trust me?"
"It's not that I don't trust you Knockout, it's just, I like to be safe." Knockout gave a bark of laughter to my unusual reply.
"The late great danger loving Lightning, safe!? You know that I know that that's absolute slag. Since when did you go by the phrase 'I like to be safe'?" The poor mech tried to hold himself for doubling over from laughter. And he was lucky it worked, despite how right he was. He looked at me with amused glittering optics, waiting for my response. Why did he care that I wanted a safe flight anyway? I mean, why would any bot want to care about me? I'm an asshole, and my temper can be equalled to that of Lord Megatron's - especially when enraged. Maybe worse at times. "Well would you really want to crash into the water a few thousand feet below, from faulty flight equipment?"
"You're a pegasus, how could your elegant wings possibly falter? You keep them in perfect check." Knockout made his point and took a step back as I spread my wings, revealing my stocky but streamlined body along with a well fitting wingspan; along with the black and glowing garnet red, feather like blades that make my wings. I stretched and gave a light brush with my wings that took me only a few inches from the ground and back down again. "Remember the time I was told to go on an all night patrol and I got dozy?"
"Yes I do. You crashed into the communications system. It wasn't a smart move. Accident or not."
"Well when I got punished, a certain someone decided to take it out on my wings, grounding me for a good few weeks. And because I take beatings better than anyone in existence, he made sure that the smallest movement hurt like pit. " At that, Knockout grimaced at the thought and nodded politely at one of my horrid memories. I then gave a small wince as I caught a brief glimpse of the scars that were left behind. "I fully understand Lightning. I'm sorry; I forgot how agonising that was for you."
"Yes... But enough about that, we know I've had worse; building falling on me, making a deal with Unicron, yada yada yada... Besides, shouldn't I be heading off now? I mean, it is too late for a flight test and frankly, I can't be bothered."
"Ok ok..." Knockout revealed a kind smile "get going. I know you've been itching to go since Lord Megatron told you, you were heading to another part of this planet." With that said, I launched into the air and started making my wings work for what they were worth.
It took me some time to reach the ideal altitude to glide and beat my wings as little as possible, but I got there eventually.
Soaring amongst the clouds, I brushed my golden metallic hooves against the fluffy white giants that comforted me on my journey as I took in my surroundings - though there was a vast landscape of nothingness.
The space around me seemed new - seeing that I don't fly often as I do have an issue with heights. The crystal blue desert was long and wide; I'm unsure if breathtaking was the word for it. Everything was calm and peaceful. So peaceful, I believe it could've calmed the hardest of sparks; because it sure calmed mine. The earth below seemed microscopic and the humans that inhabited it, atomic. Up here, I felt mighty and superior to any other being in existence, be that true or not.
The softest of breezes allowed me a powerful, yet elegant flight to my destined location. I was told it was what the earthlings called, Spain. And that I would also have to keep an extremely low profile. I was minutes away, and ready to land. With that, I ducked back under the clouds and started my descent to the new land under me.
I made touch down on an empty coastal line and the view was fantastic. The golden coast that camouflaged my hooves stretched for miles! The sea and sky; faultless and equivalent to that of the electric blue colour of an Autobot's optics. And finally, the heat. Perfect in every way. Because of my metal skin being mostly black, I was able to gain as much of the sun's warming ray's as possible - without it damaging me. Even though it can't, but it can to others. (That is why I love the heat. It has no affect on me and I can use it to my advantage.)
As I studied my surroundings in awe, I allowed a sigh of content escape my alternate mode's muzzle. My journey has just begun...
//My second story. I should make a hobby out of this. But I'm stuck for ideas. I wish to write more stories (TF based), so if anyone would love to give me some ideas, I would be grateful :)
