Part 9

The golden corn sand shone under the sun. The waves touching her feat in rhythmic intervals, the roar of the Arabian, bliss! "Dhriti!" the girl jerked as she felt the her boyfriend's fingers on her swimsuit's knots. He grinned naughtily. "Stop it I say." she yelled again as those masculine fingers touched her back. And in seconds he was pushed off, hard, on his back. "Is that what you want?" coming over him she giggled. "Tiyuuuuu" he giggled.

"Tiyuuuu...." Dhriti woke up. His eyes had already moistened. What the hell is this! He roared mentally. Yes of course he loved Tiya, but he was married, to Minu. But he loved Tiya. But Minu is his wife! Ughhh! Where the hell is my life leading to? No, no way. I can think of Tiyu, but Minu? No. I am not yet over with Tiyu. He looked at the coconut tree printed Bermuda he was wearing. A gift by Tiya, on that very holiday he was just now dreaming of. Their final year of college. So their friends circle had decided to make it special. And thus this Goa trip. Though Dhriti had a tough time convincing her to share room with him. But the trip, was a bliss. He gave a melancholic smile. How sure he was that someday that very girl would lighten up his house, his room just the way she had lightened up his life, his heart. True they say. Truth is stranger than fiction. His stomach churned announcing its emptiness.

Opening the refrigerator, he inhaled the aroma. Fruit custard. He smiled. How the damn was she like this? Ms. Perfect. No, Mrs. Perfect! Like, every bloody thing was under her gaze. And more than that, what was she? Some goddess? More than fifteen days have passed post their marriage, but he didn't see sadness on her face even once. Now that is a different story that all total he has seen her very few times, but every time, her eyes twinkled like those "tuni" bulbs. He was everything but a husband, a friend and she was? Everything... every little and big thing!

Relishing the taste he peeped into her room. She was sleeping, all wet in sweat. The pedestal fan was of no use. And she was continuously changing sides, shifting. He had to do something. Something very soon. And he knew exactly what to do.

The next day sprinted at its pace, and now it was the time for the birds to be back at nest.

Dhritiman saw the door already opened. So she was already back. Fine.. But whom was she speaking to? He heard her again, "umm left.. a bit more.. lower.. ya okay.."

Entering into the hall he saw wires drilling machines are kept. A big carton flashed, "Daikin." Cocking his eyes he looked in. Wow! He was about to do the same, but look at his smart wife.

"Hey, you are back. I got these... So, I can hardly sleep at nights." Minerva showed him her prickly heats. "This is costly, you could have told me. In fact I was already..." he was interrupted. "Umm Dhriti, I can afford me luxuries." she gave a pressed smile. And Dhriti's jaw clenched, "This is my house..."

"I shall pay the electricity bills." She opened his tightened fists, hurting his male ego to limits.

Well, Dhriti exactly wasn't sure what he was angry about! Was he angry because she installed the air conditioner without his permission? Or because, being the 'man' in the house, he was entitled to such works, to take care of her!
