I was still shaken from my encounter with Dmitri and Nickoli, according to the sheets we had on Sam they were the two males that were closest to her. Dmitri was by far the biggest shifter I had ever seen and I had seen a lot. They both were ready to tear me apart, and if it were not for Sam standing up to them, they just might have.

Sometimes I really hated my job and if it wasn't for the money, I would not be in this line of business at all. Making it back to the rendezvous point before the others, I sat on the hood and started to think about the contract we accepted and wondered if it was worth it.

The rest of my team arrived shortly after. I jumped off the car and climbed into the grey panel van. I jumped right to it, "We need to do some more research on this one boys. I know," lifting up my hand as the arguing started, "It's against the rules, but this one is different."

Joe, my second said, "I agree with Stac. We all have met some fucked up shifters, but those two...those two are different. I could see it in their eyes even through the binoculars. We need to find out what we are dealing with before we go any further."

That shut the rest of them up. Joe was always the go-get-um type. He lived on the thrill and danger and if he said, things needed to be looked into, then that was what we would do.

"First of all, I personally have never seen shifters from different packs never mind a different race work together. The way they listened to Sam...someone that who is not their mate or leader was unreal. Never mind the fact she is human," Stacey said. "We don't have a lot of time so let's get a move on, and see who this Sam really is before we decide if we will go through with our contract."

I didn't want to lose the money or have a mark for not completing a job and the Intel they had was well organized, but we were missing something, something big and overall my team always came first. The jobs we have done in the past were always dangerous, but this was on a whole other level of danger; it might even be a suicide mission.
