Chapter 50 Dmitri

"Maybe she took a wrong turn," I said, from the back of Nate's truck.

"I really hope so because the only house on this road is the Weatherspoon's place before we hit the Lion's territory," Nate said, sounding uneasy. We continued to follow Sam hoping that she would realize she was going the wrong way and turn around at a moment.

"Bill would have kept her in neutral grounds or ours. He knows what we are," Mady added with confidence. "See," she pointed to Sam's car pulling into the Weatherspoon's driveway, "She's turning around. You boys have to have a little more faith," she revealed.

Sam didn't turn around, she drove right up to the house then got out. "Ah, Mady what is she doing?" I asked, watching Sam practically jump up and down with excitement in front of the house.

We all just sat in the truck looking from Sam to the house and back. She got tired of waiting and took off up the front stairs. "Come on!" Sam yelled over her shoulder opening the front door before disappearing inside.

"You have gotta be shitting me," I groaned, "Ah Nate?"

"I'm calling Jack now," he said, holding his phone up to his ear, mouth-hanging open.

The Weatherspoon's have been in this house longer than our pack had been here. We always believed they would be here for hundreds of years to come. This was a complete utter surprise to me. I didn't know them all that well but knew enough. I knew what they were and what they did in the past and hoped like hell Sam didn't just walk into a whole lot of trouble that not even we could protect her from. That didn't mean I wouldn't die trying. I had a lot of questions, and hoped our Alpha would have some answers.

When I snapped out of the concern of this situation I got out of Nate's truck. I stood at the bottom of the stairs and admired the house. It was absolutely breathtaking and huge. Sam's presences as she stepped out of the house pulled all my attention back to her. She was radiant with joy, practically vibrating with excitement. "Absolutely breathtaking," I said as I walked I up the stairs. This time I was referring to her.

She bounced down the stairs and right into my arms. "You haven't seen anything yet!" she exclaimed.

"Oh." Mady gasped, walking through the front door. I didn't even see her as she walked by me.

Sam started to spin in a circle with her arms out from her sides. "Do you feel it? The love and acceptance the house makes you feel. It's like being surrounded in your favourite warm blanket on a cool night. I have never experienced anything like it before but it's the most wonderful thing ever."

I have felt many things, but this was new. I could feel the love from the house, it was almost like what I felt with my pack but even more so somehow. Looking around, the inside looked even bigger than the outside.

"Oh, Sam this place is beautiful and huge. This is your dream home and I can see why you wanted to keep it from us. It's amazing," Mady said, hugging Sam, sharing her excitement, "I'm so happy for you."

"You need to see the kitchen, you'll love it. I love it and I don't cook worth a shit," Sam joked, pointing Mady to the kitchen.

Watching Mady head down the hall an envelope was the first thing that caught my attention. It was addressed to Sam. I walked over to the small round table beside the stairs and picked it up. "Sam have you seen this?" I asked, handing it to her.

Brows pulled together. "No," she said, than opened it.

As she read the letter her face lite up, then handed it to me when she was done.

Dearest Samantha,

We hope you joy the house as much as we have. Welcome your new beginnings with open arms and eyes, although there will be tough times ahead remember you are stronger than you realize. You are on the correct path now. Stay positive and all will work out.

We hope you do not mind but we left some furnishings in all the bedrooms but the master bedroom. It will give you one less thing to worry about.

Yours Truly,
