hello, my dearest and loveliest of readers,

you may have noticed that chapter 50 has now been published! yes, it's true: part 2 is now complete!

did you enjoy it? lots has happened in this section of the book and now we're halfway through the "game", give or take - what do you think will happen next? if you read the book before, you should have a pretty good idea of what's happening soon but it'll all be bigger and better, don't you worry!

ok, so, quick reminders: yes, this book is getting rewritten as promised, and as has been a long-awaited development. it's long overdue, but I am so incredibly excited to continue diving into this story and present you all with the story it should have been from the beginning.

speaking of the beginning... some history! I started this story back in 2017. I was 16 years old, had only just finished my very first story on this site, and realized how much I loved to write. only, I wasn't refined, I wasn't practiced, and I wasn't on a set course. it was a hobby, which meant I wrote when I wanted to and left it at that. what it did was make it really inconsistent, both in schedule and in style, but for a long time, I kept that routine up.

cut to just about two years ago. I log onto the site but instead of reading, I figure I should look back at what I've written, because well, love for each of my stories kept rolling in at a pretty steady rate, so it must have been good, right?

no. good lord. I was shaken to my core.

LTNS, my first story, was a mess and this one was hardly any better. so... revisions!

this part is a bookmark and, of course, that begs the question: what do I mean by bookmark? this part will sit between what has been revised and what has not, so it will act as a bookmark between them for distinction. specifically, what HAS been revised will be placed before this, and what has NOT will be after it. the new chapters will be formatted differently in title, so there will be some distinction there as well.

for example, revised chapters will be listed as such: Chapter 00 - Storied Words and Missing Pages. any chapter that follows that format has been revised!

it goes largely without saying, but this book will look strange while it is being revised, and this has a lot to do with how much longer the story will be getting. essentially, what I aim to do with this is grant you readers the story you deserved in the first place, and make it a story worth reading.

with the revisions, I have partitioned the book into clear sections. they'll grant more direction to the story, and honestly, I just like when books have distinct parts, so I'm doing it here. oh, and... you know. the book is getting longer.

revisions for part 3 will likely begin on February 1, 2024. every Thursday, this story will be updated, save only for mid-part breaks I'll take every five chapters or so to grant me time to catch up and get ahead.

if it seems far out, it's for a reason; I'm a full-time student just now going on my winter break, and I'm returning to being a full-time employee where I work. add that to holiday festivities, a loving boyfriend, a few trips, and the inevitable return to my studies in mid-January, I'll do my best to get as ahead of my writing as I possibly can. just know that even if it gets delayed, I have every intention of finishing this story, I promise.

I do want to say that I have absolutely adored writing this so far. I'm so exceptionally excited to continue writing for it, providing you with the best story I can! have you enjoyed it so far?

so, TL;DR: revisions will continue on 2/1, and will continue every Thursday through the end. the book is getting longer, and it'll look weird as it's happening, but worry not, there's a method to my madness.
