It was around 12 am in the morning and I was wide awake scrolling through Instagram until I got a message from Cecily. I sat up with my eyebrows furrowed, wondering why he was awake even though I am myself. I opened the message app and went to Cecily contact

"Can u come over?" I read the message, I thought about it, I'm not trying to get in trouble with my mom but I immediately remembered that she isn't home. So I began typing back "yeah of course" I replied back

"Okay"

I went to change into actual clothes and not some pajamas. Then I went down the stairs and put some slippers on and went to out the door to my car. And went off to Cecily's house

Once made I made it to Cecily's house I saw her sitting at the curb in front of her house with Cal. I parked to the side and turned off my car. The sound of my car opening and closing caught the attention of the two. "Hey" I waved at them as I sit on the other side of Cal "Hi Val," Cecily said petting dog "And who's this?" I said petting it as well "This is runt," Cal said smiling down at the dog "He's gorgeous"

I said continued to pet him along with Cecily, Runt looks like he's enjoying the attention very much, I look up at Cal and saw him scratching the back of his head deep in thought "Have you told anybody about what happened?" He finally asked his question, Cecily looked at him and answered with a raspy voice

"Plenty people saw what happened"

"No but I mean are you thinking about going to the cops," Cal said looking at Cecily

"The cops aren't gonna do anything without evidence," I said shaking my head "and it's complicated" Cecily added, Cal stayed silent staring at her. Ceci shake her and looked ahead "it's my dad" Cecily whispered "Okay, he's back on probation. Again. Thinks he can just mess up a dude's life if they're asking for it"

"I mean Vic do deserve it," I said shrugging my shoulder and stopped petting Runt making him whine

"He says 'sometimes two wrongs is the only way to make shit right' so if he finds out what Vic did. He's going to overreact like always and retaliate"

"Cecily, who wouldn't overreact if their daughter (or son) has been touched inappropriately by some guy?" I asked looking at her seriously

"I know but if he does something he'll go back to jail, screws over my mom, and, oh god, then I probably have to homeschool again it's just.." She trails off

"But he assaulted you" Cal retorted unbelievably, Ceci abruptly stood up making us two look up at her "You think I don't know that!"

"Maybe my dad is right. Maybe Vic does deserve what he would do to him" Cecily let out a sigh "But even if I wanted to say something now I can't"

"And why not?" I asked "because?" Cal also asked her

"Because kids at school are saying you firebombed Vic's car" Cecily turns to Cal, I looked at Cal as Cecily took out her phone "You what?" I asked shockingly, Cecily showed Cal her phone

"What?" Cal asked shockingly as well, grabbing her phone and getting up walking away "oh, shit" Cal grabbed his hair "I can't say I'm mad about it" Cecily told him "No. No no no no no no this isn't right, okay. You, you can't let that prick off the hook for something I did!"

Cecily shake her head tilting it "You still have UCLA or Rhode island or whatever"

She said softly "I mean if any of this comes out now.."

"Cecily this can't all be on you-" I finally stood up, but she cut me off by holding her hand out, she looks back at Cal and grabbed her phone from his hands

She walks past me, but halted and turned around, "are you both going to school tomorrow?" She ask us "Well I already had a missing day so yeah" I answered crossing my arms, I looked at Cal waiting for his answer

He shrugged "Can't ditch forever"

"Just.. be careful"

"Agreed," I told him, slightly getting cold. I watched as Cecily went back inside her house "You need a ride home?" I asked Cal "Sure" He nodded and went to grab his bike, I nodded informed, and went to my car, getting inside. I pull the trunk lever for Cal to put his bike inside. Once he did that he went to the passenger said and sat down. I look at him, up and down, then turned on the engine.

The car ride to his house was complete silence, no one didn't know what to say or do. But it wasn't awkward.

I parked outside of his house and looked at him "Bye, Cal"

"Bye," He said getting out of the car and to the trunk, I pulled the lever. I heard him take the bike out. I watched him from the window and saw him put his bike away and go inside. He took a look back and then went back inside

It was the next day, I kept on watching Cal watching his back very second. I'm worried for him.

I was sitting far away from the group of assholes and was reading a book, my very favorite of all time. I kept eye-siding to the group and cursing them out in my head, I heard some footsteps stop walking for a second and then continued. I looked up and saw it was Cal, I kept on staring at him as he watches the group while walking away

Once Cal disappeared from the corner, I looked at the group and saw only Hank look up, and look where Cal was. He looked back and saw me staring, I quickly looked down, slamming my book shut, and went off to class

In Spanish class I was tense up while copying what teacher tally was writing on the board in my notebook, I felt eyes on me so I looked to the side and saw one of Vic friends staring at me, I looked down at my notebook and throw a glance at Cal, the bell rang and Cal immediately bolted out of the class through the other class door

In art class, I was listening closely to the teacher, less tense as no one from the group of friends of Vic wasn't in this class. In the corner of my eyes, I see some kids turn around and look at Cal, Cal was minding his own business drawing in his sketchbook. I looked up at the ceiling as the bell rang, once I looked back down, and saw Cal was gone. He's really taking this seriously, I would too

In math, again I'm less tense as I was in art class, I was too busy spacing off instead of listening to the teacher, Cecily knew to catch my attention of the teacher was gonna write something on the board but at the moment he wasn't so I wasn't paying attention, some kid was passing some paper to work on. I began once I got the paper, Cecily grabbed her piece of paper too and began working as well. I was half way down at the paper as the bell rang.

"Who ever haven't finish, do it for homework!"

I heard the teacher said as people walked out, I looked at Cecily and got up from my sit with my bag

Cal told me he wanted a ride home to be more careful, I was waiting inside my car for Cal but all of the sudden I got a text. I unlocked my phone and noticed it was Cecily

"Come out of your car! Vic and his friends are with Cal!"

Once I read that, I got of my car and went to the circle full of people, I pushed through them and somehow made it next to Cecily, I looked ahead and saw Cal reach into his bag for something, He went forwards and punched  Hank in the face. He looked down into his hand surprised
