Elle
Amy and I arrived at the studio. I set my bag down and Brynn ran up to me. "Hey Elle!" She said happily. I grumbled a quiet, "hello," in return. Brynn frowned. "What's wrong?" She asked. Before I could answer, Mackenzie came skipping up to us. "Hey!" She said. Then noticing my unhappy expression, she, like Brynn, frowned. "What's wrong Elle?" She asked. I sighed. "I don't wanna talk about it." Then I walked away, leaving confused Brynn and Kenzie looking at each other, puzzled.
Abby walked in. She clapped her hands loudly. "Line it up girls, cmon!" We lined up. I glared angrily at Maddie and Kendall. They looked at me confused. "On the bottom..." Abby showed a picture of Jojo. "Jojo. Your solo placed fifth. I expect you to do MUCH better," Abby said, bringing out the much. Next is..." She showed a picture of Nia. "Nia. Your performance in the group was ok I guess." Nia nodded. "Kalani." Abby showed a picture of Kalani. "I thought that your...technique in the group was fantastic." "Next...Maddie." Maddie frowned. "You had great expression and showed lots of emotion in the group." "Kendall. Your duet got second; I wasn't impressed." Kendall nodded unhappily. I looked at her mother and it was pretty obvious that Jill wasn't happy either. "Next, Elle. Abby showed a picture of me. Just saying, my picture wasn't all that bad, though my I'm sure that Olivia, McKenna, Macy, Genesee, Taylor, and Lauren would beg to disagree.
"Your duet got second, and I wasn't very happy with how you did." I looked at Kendall. She looked at me and scoffed. "Brynn." Abby said. "Your solo did ok. However second IS the first to lose. Did I expect you to win?" No one said anything. There was an awkward silence. "Yes." Abby spoke again. Brynn nodded. "And on the top, Mackenzie!" Mackenzie and Melissa looked overly excited. "Your solo got first. You had tons of attitude and you were sassy and I. Loved. It." Mackenzie just kept smiling.
Just then, Jill came into the room. "No no no Abby just no!" She said, waving her finger around in the air at Abby. Abby sighed and groaned and looked to Jill. "What?!" She asked. "Kendall should be higher than Elle. It was way obvious that Kendall did better; she should DEFINITELY BE HIGHER UP ON THE PYRAMID!" Jill yelled. I gulped. "Jill calm down! Kendall didn't do as good as Elle, therefore she was placed lower!" Abby said. Jill violently shook her head. "No! Kendall did better and you are just not recognizing what talent my daughter has. Open your eyes!" Jill retorted. "No you open your eyes Jill! If you would then you would see that Elle did better in the duet than Kendall! Anyway, this is MY job. MY pyramid. Let me do MY job!" Abby yelled. 'Haha Kendall!' I thought. 'And you and Maddie said that I was the one to mess it up. Well why don't you listen to Abby huh?!' "No way, no way!" Jill yelled. "I'm done." Abby said shaking her head. Jill walked up to Abby and physically turned her around. "No you are not! Kendall was better!" Jill screamed. "Fine! You know what, fine!" Abby yelled back. At that, she stomped up to the pyramid and ripped my picture off. She put it on the floor and looked at Jill. "Happy now Jill?! Happy?! Now Elle doesn't get to be on the pyramid! You know what-" Abby grabbed my picture and put it in the trash can. "Is that what you wanted? For me to say that Elle's trash?!" Abby yelled. Tears stung my eyes. Jill nodded slowly. "Yes." She said in a normal voice. Since Abby took my picture down, she had seemed to calm down. Kendall was smiling. I looked at Amy. How was she not even doing anything? I was her daughter! Sorta! I'm a foster kid ok?! Still though! I sighed unhappily. "Yes Abby. That's exactly what I wanted. For you to tell the truth. Elle is a nothing!" Jill said. She looked at me. "You are a nothing, kid. You hear that?! Nothing!" Jill snapped to me. I frowned and let a tear slip down my cheek. I shook my head and ran to the bathroom. "Elle!" Someone called behind me.

I ran to my go-to place: the bathroom, of course. I locked myself in a stall and bursted with tears. Soon I heard footsteps approaching the room. I buried my face in my hands and tried, yet failed, to stop crying. "Elle?" I heard. It was Kalani. "Go away," I mumbled. "Elle..." Kalani said. "I said go away!" I said again. "Elle, it's ok," she said. I started to cry more. "No, it's not." I hiccuped. "Jill was only mad." She replied. "I didn't do anything though!" I said. "I know, but..." Kalani trailed off. I didn't say anything. "It's ok. The moms bad-mouth me all the time, trust me, you'll be ok," she said. "No Kalani you don't understand." I said quietly. "What do I not understand?" She asked. "I don't want to talk about it," I said. "That's what you told Brynn and Kenzie." She said. "How do you know that?" I asked her. "Because Kenzie told me. She's worried about you. And so am I. Just tell me!" Kalani said. I shook my head, not that Kalani would see. "No..." I said. "You just wouldn't understand." Kalani sighed. "Elle..." She trailed again. "Just leave me alone please!" I said through tears. "Whatever," Kalani said and walked away.
