My family and I are not normal now don't get me wrong we aren't vampires or anything we are just really busy. Every week it's a new country like last week it was Paris and yesterday it was Japan. But the thing is it's always my parents who go to these extraordinary places. I'm always home most of the time I'm alone or my aunt comes to visit. but the point is. normal doesn't exist in my vocabulary. Hi, I'm Mackenzie Grant and I'm going to the ninth grade.

I looked in the mirror to see my long brown hair tied up and my brown eyes looking back at the figure standing in front of me I hear a vigorous knock on my door I rush to open it to see my aunty Carry struck with panic she looked like me but had black hair like my mom "umm MacKenzie I have bad news"

"It's your parents" she started saying "what about my parents are they back" I ran down the stairs to find a empty living room "I don't see them" I turned around my aunt was slowly making her way down the stairs. "That's because there was a tragic accident" she stopped and i felt tears stroll down my cheek.

"Wha...what accident" my heart was pounding and it felt as my life was sinking along with the words my aunt was saying "lightning hit the plane they called for backup but unfortunately your parents didn't make it"  My aunt Carry was also tearing up she was my moms sister. Of course she would start crying two

She opened her arms and i ran into her arms she hugged me as i snaked my arms around her we both fell to the ground and we stayed like that i couldn't help but remember when my sister was alive.

We stayed like that for a good hour when a river of tears became shallow sniffles. I pulled away from my aunt and looked at her she gave me a gentle smile and we helped each other up "well you need to pack up you'll have to live with me"

It's been about a week since aunt Carry delivered the news and since i moved in and aunt Carry had a nice little beach house it was what you expected it was filled with shell sea glass and random washed up objects.

"Ok i know u probably dont what to but u have to go to school" aunt Carry said as she placed her laptop on the dining table "why can't i continue online school" i asked i really don't see the harm "because my dear i'm not gonna be home all day to make sure you got your studies done and you have to make friends the best way was in school" i sighed "ok so what did you have in mind" i asked

"Well there's northwood high" she said as an option "umm i dont know" i hesitated "oh come on tomorrow we will go and check out the school"  she asked "ok we can check it out" i agreed i headed out to the ocean my dad taught me how to surf when i was young and everytime i come to Aunt Carrie's i would surf in the ocean i know and  love. It was great the feeling of the wind in my hair and the splash of salt water and the success of not falling was the best.

It was around seven when i went back to my now home and took a refreshing shower. I walked out dressed in a black take top and blue fuzzy pajamas. "We have spaghetti for dinner" Aunt Carry held up a bowl spilling over with noodles.

Once i was done chowing down the spagety I ran to my room I went on my laptop to look at the pictures of the school i was gonna check out tomorrow.

Little did i know i fell asleep on my laptop that night looking at pictures of the school. "Mackenzie wake up or we are gonna be late" i heard heavy knocks on my door i burst awake and saw it was 9:15

"What i'll be out in a minute" I yelled i grabbed my clothes and ran into the bathroom. Once i showered and changed and brushed my teeth i walked really fast to the dining room.

"Jesh it took me four try to wake you up how late where you up" Aunt Carry asked as she handed me a plate of eggs and bacon I licked my lips ready to dig in. "I don't know when i went to sleep i just drifted off" I replied

"Of course you did now hurry or we'll really be late" she said sitting across of me "mokay" "ew Mackenzie chew with your mouth closed" we ate our food and we were out

I always liked looking out to the ocean as we drove down the coast whether it was to the market or to a new school. "We are here " Aunt Carry created The school was big well i've never seen much schools so of course i was in aww it was huge and the entrenched created us

But i don't know it felt weird i can't put my finger on it the vice principal took us around the school lookers lined the hallways and doors why so many doors for one building. An hour went by of walking in and out of doors.

"So what do you think" my aunt asked we were sitting in the shop of the Salty Seas Ice Cream Parlor. "It was beautiful and it seemed to have much potential" i said but couldn't help but let out a sgh "ok well that's not a grate sign" She looked at me "yea but I feel that's not the school for me I want my first school to be memorable" I said looking out at the ocean feeling the breeze "that's fine it just means you won't be starting on monday" my aunt breathed out

"Im sorry hay what was the school that you and mom went to" I asked i never really knew "oh that school I guess you could go there but its a priest school" my eyes went wide open as she said i might be able to go thair "yes i wanna go" I yelled

"I jumped out of my seat and almost  fell off the railing as my aunt caught me  "i swear you won't make it a day if you can't see where your putting your feet" we both started laughing "ok we have time its only one we could make it for the exam" I coked my head at that "the what" I asked

"Oh dear you have to take exams to get in" Aunt Carry replied "ugggg so normal school has test two" I moned "what of course jesh you are very uneducated on the outside world"

We drove to this building it was grand and blast of color and welcoming and it felt warm i walked out of the car and stood on a cobblestone path i couldn't help think that my mother stood the same place i was.

"Wow this place is amazing" i stood in front of the grand building in aww "yeas and it really brings back memories" we walked into the building to be greeted by a man with white hair and a tight build "oh look who had walked into this school once again it's Carry wise" the man said shake in Carrys hand "oh yes i remember you the man who couldn't o a test without getting an A+  Nelvin Sterling" My aunt replied "I can't believe your the principle of this fine establishment"

"Oh yes i am Is this your daughter" Nelvin asked or am i supposed to call him Mr Sterling "Oh no this is my nease" I waved a small hello at Nelvin "oh so Elise got married and had a child tell her i sad congrats" i'm sure he doesn't know but my heart sank at the mention of my mothers name "oh she passed away as did the father so i'm her guardian now" Aunt Carry had a tint of sadness in her voice

"Oh i'm sorry for your loss she was a great woman" Nevlin said there was an awkward silence i decided to interrupt "Hello I'm Mackenzie Nightcliff I would like to take the test to see if i'm able to attend this school"

"I'm sure why else would you be hear very well follow me" We walked down another hallway that had lockers and doors we stopped in front of one that said principle "yes here we go" Nelvil said opening the door he sat behind the desk and ushered us to sit "wow not much has changed" Aunt carry said

"Yes I was never really one for change you should know that" Nelvil said giving a little glare at her "nor where you much for fun" Aunt carry said looking around pretending she never said that as i was trying to not laugh

"You haven't changed much Carry Either well here you go the papers you have to fill out" Nelvil gave aunt the papers and reached in a cabinet and pulled out more papers "this is for you across the hall is a classroom a teacher should be thair she can help you with your exam"

"Thank you" I grabbed the papers and closed the door hearing a faint muffle as i walked across the hall with a blue door in front of me i open the door to see a room full of numbers and desks and in the front there was a white board and a big desk

The room smelled of chalk and a tint of saige "umm hello" I asked "oh hello i assume u wanna take the test" a lady who had short blond hair and a white top and a black pencil skirt she had gorgeous blue eyes and glasses that framed her face

"Umm yes" I studied this was kinda overwhelming i looked around and saw a kid who had black pants and a plane gray tee shirt he had midnight black hair but i couldn't see his face all i saw was his back

"Oh hun don't worry come sit here" she sat me at a desk right next to the boy i still couldn't see his face i was curious what he looked like "oh i can be so absent minded i'm Mrs.Clarissa the Math teacher for the ninth grade now hears a pencil and don't worry i can see your a bright one" she winked at me then took her leave

I looked at the pack of papers the front said name I signed then it said part one Math ok so this was gonna be interesting fifteen minutes passed and i heard a shuffle next to me I finished the first three papers "Im done Mrs.Clarissa" the boy next to me said I lifted my head slightly to see his face he had green eyes and a sharp jawline and  I have to say he looked hot

"Yes thank you you may take your leave" Mrs.Clarissa said taking his papers and leaving he stood up and i saw our eyes meet I couldn't help but look away and feel a slight blush build on my face Oh no

Twenty minutes passed by and i finished the test that was handed to me "Umm Mrs.Clarissa i'm done" I said kinda hesitant "Oh ok" Mrs came and picked up my packet "you can leave now if you would like" she said flipping thru the pages a slight grin appearing on her face "you will be notified as of tomorrow whether you got in or not"

A sigh of relief flew out of me as i closed the door a figure poked me and i couldn't help but jump a little "oh it's you I thought you left" I saId to the boy who was in the room

"Yes but  my ride isn't here yet" he said "oh ok well im Mckenzie and you are" I asked with a raised Eyebrow "Timothy but me friends call me tim" he said shaking my hand

A door opens to the side of us and my aunt walked out and i felt a slight bit of embarrassment "oh Mackenzie you're done and who is this" she asked "im Timothy Daniels" he said reaching out his hand "oh im Carry Mackenzies Aunt um Kenzie when your done ill be in the car" she said leaving

"Umm it was nice to meet ya i hope you get in i said giving him a wave "as i hope you do to" he said walking into the principal's office i ran into the passenger side of the car "so he seemed nice am i gonna see him around the house" she asked red heat filled my face and i turned up the AC "just drive" i said to her and she laughed as we left the school

The rest of the day passed and it was the next day i was anxious wanting to know the results of the test know i now how it feels to be anxious "its hear" Munt Carry said walking in with a manilla folder and a box "what's in that" i asked as i took the letter "I don't know but read the letter first"

          I am glad to inform you that you have made it into LakeWood High School In the folder there is a list of school supplies and your classes and a box should have been sent as well in it contains our school uniform and a tablet where we hope it helps with your studies we look forward to having you attend LakeWood High School,

I couldn't believe it soon i would be attending the same High school my mother and Aunt went to. I was so happy i was jumping for joy "so i guess that's what this box is for" Aunt said "well we will have to try it on tonight we have to go it will take us at least three hours to get everything."

"What why do we have to go now" i asked wondering what the rush i "oh honey school starts tomorrow and judging from this list Nelvin really has not changed" i went in shock "tomorrow come on Aunty we have to go now" i grabbed her arm and raced into the car

"Hay chill girl we have some time" she said starting the engine "yea but i'm really excited" I said bouncing up and down in my seat we went from store to store getting everything i'm assuming kids who go to an actual school gets.

We were back into the car with bags of school supplies "wow what kid needs a notebook for every subject" My aunt said restarting the engine "umm kids who go to LakeWood High School." i said and we both laughed when we died down i looked back out at the sea of many colors and it seemed to have a new spark

We got home and i had to put everything together but i didn't really know how so i need my Aunts help a little well ok maybe a lot "ok kido go get that uniform i wanna see it on you" Aunt Carry asked "oh yeah" i said getting up from the couch i grabbed the box and ran to my room

I put on this uniform and looked into the Mirror ir was a white shirt with a Light gray jacket and a black tie and a light gray skirt that to be honest was short but not too short.

I walked out of my room and down the hall to the living room and my aunt was there with a gleaming smile on her face wich put a smile on mine "wow you look good" Aunt said standing up checking me out "why thank you" I said certseing i spent another ten minutes in it then took a shower then changed into a unicorn onesie

"Ok good night kido" Aunt said waving me good night as i disappeared into my room i was up till eleven wondering how tomorrow will go and couldn't help if i would see Tim or im her in one of my classes. Till finally the darkness and the sound of the ocean drifted me to sleep.

"Kenzie wake up you have school" i woke up groggy I looked at my phone its six why was she wakes me up at six "but its six" I yelled "yea kids who go to an actual school wake up at six" Aunt replied

I pulled myself out of bed and grabbed my uniform and went to the shower and changed. I went back into my room and looked at my bed so tempted to just lay back down but i went to my desk and but on foundation eyeliner light mascara and lipgloss nothing heavy

I walked out of my room to the dining room and sat down my aunt handed my packages "what is this" I asked "this is for you vary first day of school" she said starting to stuff her face "oh really thanks" i also started to eat little did i know soon i was in the car pulling up to school

"Oh wow" their waws kids everywhere and everyone seemed to be with someone. "Dont worry youll be fine hey maybe you will see him again" Aunt said "what no bye love you" I said hugging her I walked out of the car and held my bag to me

"Hay look who we have hear" A voice said huh i turned around to see Him walking towards me he was wearing the same outfit as me but had black pants well speak of the devil "hello" i said "hey it's Kenzie right" he asked "Mackenzie but you can call me kenzie" i said "so who is your homeroom" he asked

"It's Mrs.Clarissa" i said filing my paper and putting it in my pocket "oh really" he said I gave him a side glance at him "yea why who is yors" i asked "ohh i think i hear my friend" he said backing away "hay" i yelled attracting some attention "see you in homeroom" he yelled back

Wait i had him in homeroom i can't help but be a little joy full the bell rang and i went to Mrs.Clarissas room. Not able to stop bye my locker i walked in and nothing looked different and it still smelled of chalk and saige altho there was more kids "oh Mackenzie your heart grate may i talk to you for a second" Mrs.Clarissa asked ushering me over to the front of the room

"So i was told that this is your first ever school day am i right" she asked in a whisper i nodded my head "ok so if you have any questions just ask ok" I boned my head and she smiled "grate go sit down" she said

Tim walked in the room and all eyes were turned in him including mine i was sitting where i was when i first came hear and he sat right next to me when we were first in this class.

"Hay thair Kenzie look at that we are both in Mrs.Clarisas homeroom" he said a smirk oh is face "yea i wonder if i'm lucky or i should switch seats" i said kinds hard "ouch strike na this is gonna be interesting" he said

Homeroom lasted only ten minutes and my first class was English i only had core classes to day I walked in to see Tim in it again "hay Kenzie your in honors" he said surprised but i was wondering what was honers "um honers is" i asked sitting next to him again

"Wait your in honors and have know idea what it is it's pretty much where you learn a grade ahead and your good at the subject" he explained "oh well i guess i am i didn't know" i said not really knowing i recognized a few people from homeroom btu everyone else i had know clue who they where

Class was simple she went over the rules and what we were gonna do over the school years and then it was time for science i walked in Time right after me "ok you have honours science also" he said as we sat next to each other again "yea i guess i don't know is honers special" i asked he stared at me in schock

"Wait what school where you in before this one" he asked "ummive been in online school for my entire life" i said kinda shy "wait really and your in honors" he asked "i guess" i said "may i see your schedule" he asked I handed him the folded paper he opened it and gave me a look "oh so you have all honors core classes" he said "ok so is that good" i asked not really knowing

"Yes it's really good and means you'll have all core classes with me "so you have an honors also" i asked kinda glad he did then i actually knew someone also a lot fo the kids hear where from my other class

The science teacher did the same as what the english teacher did go threw rules and then say what we were gonna do this year it was boring but different then sitting on my desk just pressing buttons

The bell rang and everyone was leaving and i felt a tap on my shoulder it wsa Tim "hay are you gonna go and eat" he asked then i remembered they had a cafeteria "oh no baby during lunch" i packed my things and we both went our separate ways an i couldn't help but look back the way he went he was constantly surrounded by other students

I walked to my locker ad it was plane i looked around and saw some people had their locor decorated. Altho i just wanted to leave mine alone. I tried my combination but it didn't work i was about ready to give up till i felt a delicate tap on my shoulder i turned around exspecting Tim to be their but it wasn't him "hey your Mackenzie wright" a girl with dirty  blond hair tied into a bun and blue eyes stared at me

"Um uh yea thats me" i replied she looked very similar but i couldn't put my finger on it "umm im Faith we have homeroom together and english and science" i literally wanted to smack myself yeah that's why she looked familiar she was in every one of my classes.

"Oh yeah umm hay this is a weird question umm can you help me with my locker" i asked i looked at her and she was gonna laugh "yea i can help" i gave her my coad and she unlocked my locker "hay thanks" i appreciated "umm what's your next class" she asked my "umm it's Math honers" i replied to her question

"Hay me to the bells about to ring we should get their" she mentioned and i agreed and i couldn't help a huge smile on  my face i think i just made a friend i'm so happy aunt Carry told me so go to school and the rest of the day it was me Tim and Faith.           

   When Aunt Carry picked me up all I could do was talk her ear off about all the people I meet and all my classes. After dinner, I ran up to my room and called Timothy and Faith. And when I caught my eyes Drooping I knew it was getting too late and I had to say bye "see you guys tomorrow at school" I said to them

"yea your right okay will do have a good night rests we have that big test tomorrow" Faith reminded us and I heard Timothy grone in the other line and I couldn't help but giggle a little.

"good night and sweet dreams you two and don't forget to study a." Timothy reminded them

"ok thank you for the reminder." I said to them

"well, we better get going out ttyl good night again." Faith said to us and when the line went dead I said a silent Good night I went to shower I couldn't help but think about all the events that happened today I bet to a lot of people it would have been another first day of school but it was my first day of school ever

now that I'm thinking about it today was the first day I didn't think about my parents and it was refreshing not crying altho it does bring a sting in my eyes whenever I think about them I held a fist to my heart and finished my shower

Coming out of the hot steaming shower was refreshing I heard the sink water running and stuck my hear out of the hall to see Aunt Carry washing the dishes and I walked out and started putting away the food and cleaning up the kitchen. 

After we were done I bid Aunt Carry a good night and went to my bedroom and watched tv I was really obsessed with this one show Famous In Love on FreeForm. I looked at my clock to see it was 8: oo and in all that time watching TV I almost forgot to study for the test tomorrow

So I recorded the show and turned the TV off. I went straight into reading my textbook and reviewing the worksheet that the teacher gave to us today. I couldn't believe after one day and we have a test it's not like I've never had a test before but at least I should have gotten it the next week.

After that was done I  turned on the TV but then I  remembered what mom told me. "don't watch tv after you are done studying instead go to bed that way you'll remember things better." i gave myself a shake of my head Moms will always bee Moms and id have it no other way. So with that being said, I turned off all of the light including my reading lamp. And I went straight to bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I went straight to sleep.

When I got to school I went to Art, and if I'm remembering correctly Timothy went to PE, and Faith went to Photography. I sat in my normal see in the middle but by the window and saw Hannah Mae walk in. Hannah Mae is one of my classmates in Art Class. I walked up to her " hay what are you drawing?" I asked Hannah jumped a little at my apparent surprise entrance

"oh our Art assignment" see Hanna and are partners for this one assignment teacher gave us yesterday

"okay sweet so what are we going to make." I asked her she had to have an idea well I didn't that's for sure

"well I was thinking like an abstract drawing". Hanna said to me pointing to her sketchbook"  

"cool wait you don't mean Painting? Do you" i asked in confusion

"Nope well anyways we better get started because this counts as 50 percents of our grades."

"Ok" was my reply and we started to work on our project. And i couldn't help but wonder what the others were doing

Timothy point of view

I saw Ash and Joey. "hay Ash what are you doing here in 9th grade PE?"

"They made us retake the class"

"Dude why you guys rock at sports" i asked

"Uhh we failed." Joey chimed in 

"But how could you guys fail?" i empathised the Fail part 

"we didn't make up our last and final the mile run test." Joey said with a shrug and I shook my head at him

"we had a lot of injuries from football." Ash said as we started doing laps

"Okay so let me get this straight you guys couldn't do your mile run because of football injuries. Is that correct?" i asked them and they looked at each other 

"Yup pretty much" Ash said popping the p and yet again i was shaking my head at them while laughing at them

Faith point of view

I was in Photography. And saw saw Rosie. Rosie and I are friends. We have partnered up many times to work on and edits and pictures of nature's beauty, the wonders sounds, and the meaning of life project.

Of course, Rosie is much better than me at taking pictures with the Canon and Nixies but I have to admit I was much better at adding filters and editing pictures altho most of the time we liked using the natural picture.

No wonder we make such a perfect team when it comes to Photography. And i giggled at that thought " Hay Faith can you crop the background around the flower oh and add a little darker tint to it" Rosie asked me as she handed me the SD card

"Yea no problem already on it." I took the SD card and walked to the spot of grass we created as our temporary base

"Hay Rosie can you go to the beach this weekend or next weekend and take some pictures for our Ocean and Waves assignments?" I asked her  and all she told me was "Okay will do."

Mackenzie pov

I heard the distant sound of the bell ringing and packed up all of my supplies and waved Hanna a farewell I went to my next class of the day witch was Dance. And i believe Faith next period was PE. and Timothy next period was Art.

I was walking down the hall and spek of the man himself crossed my gaze and ha gave me a smile and i gave him one back with a smile wave and turned into the dance studio and put my bag down.
