Chapter 9: Boss Fight
I stepped through the portal to Beacon and saw that the walk way was barren. I looked at the time and noticed it was later then I realized, everyone was most likely doing homework or getting ready for bed. Ariana was looking around confused. I walked passed her and began going towards the dorms.
Me: "Follow."
Ariana: "What are we doing here?"
Me: "If you'd like I can take you to jail rather then here. It's just a tear away after all."
She rapidly shook her head and walked beside me.
Me: "So you saw what happened here?"
Ariana: "I didn't. Someone else did."
Me: "So more then one spy among the crowd. Fun."
Ariana: "So... you said you don't know what you are. Does that mean you're not human?"
Me: "It means I haven't the slightest clue anymore. I used to be human. Just as weak as all the rest."
Ariana: "Well some humans are very strong."
Me: "In my world, it was much different."
I opened the door to the dorm building and walked inside with my spider companion.
Me: "No one had amazing powers, there were no creatures such as Grimm. The only true threat was the person standing beside you."
Ariana: "Wait..."
She stopped walking.
Ariana: "You're actually from a different world?"
I nodded and motioned for her to keep walking.
Me: "I was stuck in a dull world full of meaningless life and death. However, it seems the feeling is universal."
Ariana: "A world without Grimm? How could you complain about that? A world without war sounds-"
Me: "I didn't say it had no war. Remember the only threat was the person beside you. There were countless wars of no importance. Death for religion, resources, a stupid superiority complex. Every race hated the rest, though we were all human. The world was bleak."
Ariana was silent, most likely stunned.
Me: "Having increased intelligence only made me realize this sooner, I hated my world. I sped up humanity's technology at least 1,000 years but I hated humanity's stupidity. Emotion and belief ruled over logic and reason. Which led to the destruction of many opportunities. So I kept my work out of the hands of any military, any country, they were for my use only. Not even the world's best soldiers and operatives could break through the security I created."
Ariana: "This world isn't much different. Grimm have destroyed opportunities for growth as well. Like Mountain Glenn."
Me: "Mountain Glenn?"
Ariana: "A city that had to be abandoned due to the concentration of Grimm."
Me: "Hm..."
Ariana: "You aren't thinking of going are you?"
Me: "I might. But later."
We finally reached the dorm room Ozpin had given me to stay in. Of course I made certain modifications to the space that it occupied.
Me: "System Command, Withdraw Key, Item ID 5707."
A keycard I crafted appeared in my hand and I held it against the digital lock, the door clicked and I opened the door. However it didn't lead to a dorm room, it led to an entire building of its own. This place was my little sanctuary. A lab, a forge, various magic equipment, a vault, an armory, even a bathhouse, everything I'd ever need.
Me: "I'm going to run some tests on you if you don't mind. In exchange I'll keep you out of jail. Deal?"
She thought for a moment.
Ariana: "What kind of tests?"
Me: "I want to see if I can duplicate your webbing. I accomplished it in my old world, something I name 'Dragon Silk' however it was very costly, time consuming, and overall inefficient, about $300 for one kilogram which took quite a while to collect. If I use a large amount, which you are able to produce, I may be able to find a more cost efficient way to mass produce it, it would save a lot of time as well. I've tried many different universes, however the genetic make up from the spiders in those worlds were slightly different and weaker then-"
I looked over to see Ariana staring at me, slightly confused.
Me: "Nothing terrible, I just need you to spin a few webs for me."
She nodded and began spinning a coil from her hand.
Me: "Tell me, the White Fang are nothing but a Faunus group that are against humans right?"
She nodded.
Me: "And I suppose this isn't without just cause, correct?"
She nodded as she snapped off the rope like strand and handed it to me. I nodded a thank you then walked over to my lab.
Me: "Humans mistreat any other race that exists. In most universes, it's out of fear. Elves are gifted with magic, dwarfs with unmatched intelligence with mechanical devices, and every other race because they have something humans don't... natural abilities."
I placed the silk on a scanning table and began the program. The table lit up and began scanning the object.
Me: "Humans fear the strong. They cower when a race shows they are above or even equal to them. So they turn fear into oppression and anger."
Ariana: "Does that mean you do the same?"
Me: "No. I saw no reason to, even more so now that I am unmatched. I don't fear death, for I have beaten him. I don't fear the strong because I know I'm stronger. I hope one day I find someone stronger then me, so that I can fight on equal ground and maybe even parish. I've beaten gods, demons, prophets, and even an exact copy of myself. I have no Level capacity. I can always pass my limits..."
I stopped what I was doing and stared into space for a moment.
Me: "God it's lonely at the top."
Ariana: "How long have you... you know, been doing this?"
Me: "Years, months, centuries, millennia, not a clue. Time passes differently in each dimension. I could be 18 or 18,000."
Suddenly the table beeped, signaling the machine was done scanning.
AutomatedVoice: "Scan complete. Duplicating material possible... commencing test... estimated time is... 2 hours and 45 minutes."
Me: "Change duplication of object to strictly molecular structure, increase size by..."
I started to do a little math in my head.
Me: "35.8 percent, do not weave it. Make the sheets about... 2 centimeters thick. That should be enough."
AutomatedVoice: "New estimated time... 1 hour 56 minutes."
Me: "Leaves me with down time."
I looked over to my spider like companion.
Me: "You're free to go."
Ariana: "Wait, just like that? That easy?"
Me: "If you helped me with my test I'd let you go, that is what I said."
Ariana: "Well I didn't expect you to keep your word."
I walked over to a keypad on the wall and typed in a few numbers.
Me: "I keep my word no matter what. I am many things, however, a liar I am not."
Suddenly the room around us changed to a normal looking house's interior, still much larger then the dorm room should have been, but normal nonetheless.
Me: "As I said, you are free to go. You may stay if you wish. I'll even let you report back to the White Fang. Just make sure they send their strongest after me, I really hate boring fights."
[Time Skip, Brought to You by Chibi Yang Wrestling a Dragon]
I have killed many. Elves, humans, dwarfs, elders, women, children, men. Some deserving, others innocent. I feel nothing for any other living being, and I haven't the slightest clue why. My thoughts wandered as I held the White Fang member off his feet by his neck., him struggling the best he could despite the strong grip around his throat. With one twist of my wrist I snapped his neck and threw him to the side, on top of one of the other lifeless bodies. White Fang have sent two men after me, one "Lieutenant" And one regular looking man. After that I decided to make them take me seriously, so I went after one of their bases, a warehouse on the outside of the city. Ariana looked on from the sidelines in utter shock. I counted about 20 or so, which was nothing to me. I've killed entire armies before.
Me: "I thought I told you to send the strongest."
Ariana: "That Lieutenant was one of the strongest in Vale the only other is Adam, the leader of the Vale Branch..."
Me: "And where's he at?"
Adam: "Right here."
Me: "Hm?"
I looked to the edge of the warehouse where a male with black and red hair stood. He had a katana in his left hand that had a trigger on the sheath.
Me: "System Equip, Metal Gear Solid Series, Murasama." (Image Below)
I held the blade in a copy cat way, mimicking the way he held his own sword, only keeping my finger on the trigger of the sheath.
Me: "Shall we?"
Adam charged me with no tricks whatsoever. A horrible error. I used my perception to wait until the last second and pulled the trigger on the sheath. The handle of the blade flew out of the sheath and slammed into Adam's gut then slid back into the sheath. He reeled back as I stepped forward and aimed the sheath towards his chin then pulled the trigger again, this time the handle slammed into his chin. I then waited for the sword to click back into the sheath and slammed the sheath into the side of his head from the right. Be stumbled back and caught himself by holding himself up with his sword.
Me: "If you couldn't figure it out you'd be dead if I actually drew the sword. This is a High Frequency blade, it's a sword reinforced by a powerful alternating current that resonates at extremely high vibration frequencies. This oscillation weakens the molecular bonds of anything it cuts, thereby increases its cutting ability. In other words..."
I slowly drew the blade and held it out.
Me: "It'll cut through your aura like it's not even there."
I then dropped the blade and let it fall as it slowly disappeared into my inventory.
Me: "I can beat you at your own game. Therefore, you're a waste of my time. My reflexes are faster then your mind can even process, if you would've dodged or even seen one of those attacks I would actually think of you as strong. However unlike a sparring match, this is to the death. And you'd already be in pieces by now. If you still want to continue, then come at me. Roar until your lungs burst as you try to strike me down. But by now, I'm sure you've seen the skill difference between us. I-"
I suddenly spun on my heel and caught an arrow that was headed right for my left shoulder.
Me: "Poor shot. That wouldn't have even slowed me a little."
I snapped the arrow in half then looked at the archer. They were on the catwalk of the warehouse, crouched and dressed in a feminine stealth suit. The archer readied another arrow and almost fired.
Me: "Teleport."
I disappeared from my original position and reappeared right next to the female attacker. I kicked her in the stomach making her fire the arrow by accident, hitting the ground where I stood as she was knocked back. The woman then readied three arrows and fired quickly, giving me little time to react... or so she thought. I knocked all three out of the air in one strike. The women then broke the bow in two and it shifted into dual blades that seemed to glow with a fire like glow.
Me: "System Equip-"
The woman charged me and went to strike. I simple moved around her blade then casually continued as I jumped back.
Me: "System Cancel Command."
I lunged forward with normal human speed and threw a punch at my attacker. She blocked with her blades but was surprised when I followed all the way through with my punch and shattered her blades into pieces. As the pieces flew into the air I noticed their trajectories didn't follow the normal path they should've taken, instead they slowed in the air and the jagged shards pointed directly at me, then shot forward.
Me: "Guard."
A giant ethereal shield formed in front of me and deflected all of the projectiles before shattering. I quickly ducked as Adam's sword went over top my head. While he thought I was distracted he had made his way up the catwalk and tried to flank me. I spun around and kicked him back then stood in between the two enemies. I spread my arms and laid bare my chest, then with a small smile spoke.
Me: "Now, how about we dance for a while."
