(The episode begins as we look down on Mario, unconscious in a wooded area. The camera zooms in on him as we hear the voices of different characters in his head.)

Peach: Long ago our world was attacked by a strange man who called himself Master Mind.

Bowser: Time for your game to end!

Master Mind: A man with nothing but a hammer!

Aiden: I don't think we can beat that thing.

Toro: I need to save my friend.

Master Mind: So long, Mario. (The voices stop and the screen goes dark. We then cut to Mario lying unconscious on a bed. His eyes flutter open as he slowly gets up.)

Mario: Where am I?

???: Careful. You were pretty hurt when I found you. (Mario looks over to the source of the voice. We see that he's in some sort of inn room. At the table nearby, we see Lloyd Irving sitting in a chair and watching Mario.)

Mario: Who are-a you?

Lloyd: Give me your name, and I'll give you mine.

Mario: I'm-a Mario. I was fighting Master Mind but then... my friends. (He looks off.)

Lloyd: Hey, you're still pretty hurt. How about you catch me up in the morning?

Mario: (Nods.) Yeah. Thank you.

Lloyd: I'm Lloyd, by the way. Lloyd Irving.

Mario: Thank-a you, Lloyd. (Mario lays back down.)

(We cut to an underground laboratory, the same one Samus and Mega Man broke into in New Game. We hear commotion above as well as the squeals of the Pigmasks. The camera pans to a large broken glass tube as a pair of purple eyes lights up. We see Mewtwo walk out of it. A Pigmask Colonel (EarthBound) walks downstairs with a group of four other Pigmasks. We see corpses strewn about the area.)

Pigmask Colonel: The specimen has breached containment! Fire! (The Pigmasks all start shooting at Mewtwo. Mewtwo uses Reflect and all the shots bounce back and hit the Pigmasks, leaving them injured on the floor. The Pigmask Colonel looks around worried. Mewtwo then picks up a table with his telekinesis and throws it at the group of Pigmasks. The table flies at the camera and we cut away.)

(We cut to the forest outside of the laboratory, now dawn. We see Erdrick walking through with his sword and shield equipped.)

Erdrick: Let's hope we find a town soon. (Behind Erdrick, we see Hector (Fire Emblem), Tira (SoulCalibur), and the Master (ActRaiser).)

Hector: With the dawn of a new day, we shall surely find one.

Tira: I sure hope so. (They suddenly hear the squeals of the Pigmasks.)

The Master: What is that?

Erdrick: I'll check it out. (We see Erdrick go ahead of the group to see what's going on.) I don't see anything yet- (Suddenly, a truck barrels through the trees and lands on Hector, Tira, and the Master. Most of the truck is on fire.) No! No! (Erdrick runs to the truck. He tries to lift it off, but he can't.) No! How!? (Erdrick turns and sees Mewtwo floating in the air behind him. He raises his sword and shield.) You! I'll kill you! (Mewtwo looks at him before teleporting away.) Come back! You did this! You did this!

(We cut to Erdrick waking up in a dark forest. He's panting hard and we see a campfire in front of him. The camera cuts to the trees above as we see a Hoothoot (Pokemon).)

Hoothoot: Hoot! Hoothoot! (We cut back to Erdrick.)

Erdrick: Just a dream... (Erdrick lays back down and dozes off.)

(We cut to the morning in a small town with stone buildings. People are going about their days between buildings. We see Brian (Quest) walking around with his staff. We then see a stand run by two Villagers (Minecraft). They're selling fruits. An Aipom (Pokemon) swings down and grabs a fruit with its tail before scampering away. We cut to Mario and Lloyd walking through town.)

Lloyd: So there's this guy trying to destroy the world who brainwashed all your friends.

Mario: Yeah, and if we don't-a act fast, we're-a gonna be in trouble.

Lloyd: How about we talk to the mayor around here. Surely he'd be able to do something to help us.

Mario: Can you lead-a the way?

Lloyd: Sure thing! I'll get you one step closer to saving the world. (Lloyd runs off and Mario follows.)

(We cut to Mario and Lloyd entering a fancy-looking building.)

Lloyd: This must be the place. (They go up to the front desk.) Is this the office of the mayor here? (The receptionist, a lady with small glasses and a red suit, answers them.)

Receptionist: Yes it is, but you'll have to make an appointment if you'd like to meet with them.

Mario: When are we-a able to see him?

Receptionist: Let me check real quick. (The receptionist types on her computer, but as she does, the mayor exits from the room behind her.)

Mayor: I'm off to a meeting, Ms. Jennings.

Receptionist: Okay, Mr. Mayor. (This gets Mario and Lloyd's attention. They run up to the mayor.)

Mario: Excuse-a me, Mr. Mayor. (The mayor turns to see Mario and Lloyd. He immediately gets a nervous look on his face.) I'm-a here to warn you about Master Mind.

Lloyd: The world is at stake.

Mayor: I'm sorry, but I don't have time to talk to people like you. (He begins to leave, but Lloyd speaks up.)

Lloyd: People like us?

Mayor: As soon as people like you started springing up around the globe, there has been nothing but disaster. Giant lizards and robots, prison escapes, and the invasion of ships have all happened in New York alone. Frankly, I do not care for you.

Mario: But we're-a trying to help.

Mayor: You can help by staying away from my town. (The mayor leaves. Lloyd looks down, but Mario puts a hand on his arm.)

Mario: Don't-a worry. We'll-a figure something out. (We cut to the entrance to the town. Erdrick walks through the entrance and stops someone walking by.)

Erdrick: Have you seen a flying, humanoid monster around here? (The person shakes their head.) Oh, well thanks anyway. (He walks up to another person as the camera pans up to the sky. We see Mewtwo looking down at the village from far above. He centers his gaze on Erdrick. We then see Mewtwo teleport away.)

(We cut back to Erdrick walking around when we suddenly hear shouts coming from behind him.)

Erdrick: Huh? (He turns around to see Mewtwo surrounded by onlookers. He lifts up two crates with his telekinesis and throws them at Erdrick. Erdrick rolls underneath them and runs up to Mewtwo. He slashes twice but misses as Mewtwo floats back. The third strike hits Mewtwo in the torso as he flies back onto the ground. We cut back to Mario and Lloyd walking through town.)

Lloyd: So where do we go from here? (They suddenly hear the ruckus. They look over to their left to see Erdrick being held by Mewtwo's telekinesis. He is then thrown into a wall. The onlookers gasp.)

Mario: We've-a got trouble.

Lloyd: (Unsheathing both swords.) Let's deal with this first. (They run towards Mewtwo. Lloyd thrusts his sword at Mewtwo and sends him back. Mario then jumps on Mewtwo's head and lands behind him. Mewtwo looks at the two of them. Mario jumps at Mewtwo again.)

Mario: Yahoo! (Mario is then held by Mewtwo's telekinesis again. Lloyd runs up and spins around with his swords, cutting Mewtwo. Mewtwo then uses Shadow Ball and throws it at Lloyd, knocking him down.)

Lloyd: Urgh! (Mewtwo throws Mario far from him but he lands on his feet and starts running back towards Mewtwo. Mewtwo picks up four barrels with his telepathy and throws them at Mario. We see them start rolling towards him. Mario jumps over the first two and smashes the third one with his hammer.)

Mario: Yaha! (The fourth barrel knocks Mario over. Mario starts getting up, but Mewtwo uses Confusion on him. Stars fly around Mario's head as he wanes back and forth woozily.)

Mario: I'm-a tired... (Mewtwo looks around for more challengers only to see Lloyd still on the ground, clutching his chest. Erdrick is nowhere in sight. Erdrick then lands next to Mewtwo after using the Zoom spell and slashes Mewtwo away with his sword.)

Erdrick: I've got you now, monster! (Mewtwo throws another shadow ball, but Erdrick guards it with his shield. Erdrick then uses Zap as a bolt of lightning strikes Mewtwo from above. He screams out in pain. We cut back to Erdrick as he uses Heal on Mario.)

Mario: Thank you so much!

Erdick: (Nods.) You're welcome. (We cut back to Mewtwo as he floats higher. His eyes go white as shadows form from his hands. Mario and Erdrick look on in terror and determination. We hear the sound of steel on flesh as Mewtwo's eyes go normal again, now wide-eyed. He looks down to see Lloyd's fire sword through his stomach, thrown through it. Mewtwo goes back to the ground as we see Lloyd walk up to Mewtwo.)

Lloyd: That'll end it. (The heroes surround Mewtwo as he clutches his stomach. Lloyd takes his sword out and Mewtwo slumps over.)

Mario: What-a is this thing?

Erdrick: It killed my friends. (Mewtwo looks up at our heroes with pleading eyes. (Blood keeps spilling.)

Lloyd: Why did it attack the town? (Erdrick looks down at Mewtwo and sighs. He closes his eyes, holds out his hand, and casts Omniheal. Mewtwo is healed and slowly gets up. Lloyd looks over at Erdrick.) Why'd you do that?

Erdrick: It's just a wild animal. It's scared. (Mewtwo looks upon our heroes.)

Mario: Do you think he can be good?

Erdrick: Everyone can. (Mewtwo nods and closes his eyes. He holds out his hand to our heroes and we hear his voice.)

Mewtwo: Thank you... (Mewtwo teleports away. The citizens walk up to our heroes and the mayor charges to the front.)

Mayor: Excuse me! You're just gonna let that monster go?! I knew I was right about you!

Mario: He's just a scared animal.

Erdrick: Don't you think he deserves a second chance?

Mayor: I want you three out of my town!

Lloyd: We just saved your town! (Lloyd starts towards the mayor, but Mario holds him back.)

Mayor: People like you and your friends are destroying this place! There's a new incident every day! Get out! (Our heroes reluctantly exit the town. We see them walking through the forest.)

Erdrick: So what now?

Mario: Master Mind is still out there. We have to stop him.

Lloyd: The people of this world don't want us. Why don't they just fight this battle?

Mario: I'm not sure if they know how, but we do. (They stop.)

Erdrick: We do?

Lloyd: (To Mario.) From what you told me, we can't stop this fiend.

Mario: He was able to be stopped once before.

Erdrick: So what do we have to do?

Mario: We have to find the Shadow Crystal.
