My friend is planning to move to my city – HCM. It is a big city of Viet Nam and it is always a peaceful and beautiful in my mind. I think that my friend will like some advantages such as: buildings, restaurants, entertainment, communication, activities, working and studying…but there are some disadvantages my friend dislike such as: traffic jam, pollution, criminal…

First of all, I think that HCM will bring to him a lot of interesting surprises with skyscrapers, buildings, restaurants,, shopping centers, etc,… I think that my friend will like our old streets with old buildings time Vietnam was one of French’s colonies. Now, HCM is different from how it was years ago. HCM is charming with many famous old quarters and it is today full skyscrapers making its appearance  look as fashionable as many other developed cities. The streets with trees along the side of roads are one of our special things differ it from other cities. There are many big shopping centers in HCM with expensive imported goods. Any foreigner will find it easy to bug anything they want here. Moreover, besides the traditional good, there are a lot of foreign good being serviced in the restaurants everywhere that will satisfy for any visitor from all over the world. I believe that these changes will attract anyone, especially my friend by this new impression.

Secondly, my city is a big city. It is the best place for studying and working. My friend will have a lot of opportunities to continue his studies with many universities here. It is easy for her to find a good job or even continue with her studies and she will have more chances/opportunities to get a well-paid permanent job to lead a comfortable life in HCM. Moreover, there are many people of various nationalities living here, so it is not problem to make a new friend and relationships in HCM. It is so interesting and exciting to communicate with others. There are many places of entertainments in HCM. Our wonderful cinemas, a lot of movie theaters, art galleries and museums will bring many moments of pleasures and satisfaction to her. We also have some beautiful parks with a great variety of plants here.

However, HCM contains some unpleasant things that you find in common with every big city in the world. We suffer from air pollution and traffic jams. Many factories and plants in HCM pollute the atmosphere and the water. Among with industrialization and modernization have a bad traffic jams, it is bad to say that HCM have some problem in transportation. It has become more and more congested. The public transportations make a lot of noise. Traffic jams are what happens everywhere, everyday and everyone. The end of every working day, people still involve in the crowed flow in the road finding the way to get home. You can spend hours waiting for traffic jams. Of course, this makes us nervous, inconvenient and unhealthy. Unfortunately, there are only a few green trees in the city centre because we have cut them down to build new buildings. In addition, living in a lager city is exciting but you pay a price for it. Housing is very expensive and the crime rate is high. People have to careful about where they go at night. There are a lot of people living in HCM, sometime it feels too crowed, and finding a parking space can be a problem.

In spite of some uncomfortable things, I love my city and I believe that my friend would love HCM. It holds a place in my heart if I have to go far from it. I think that my friend will like HCM with its multiple cultures and appearance, entertainments, communication and working here although she will dislike having to waste her time stuck in the traffic jams, noise pollution and even criminal. Thus, I hope that my friend may get adjusted with such traffic and transportation problem. I hope that HCM will become a native city in the future and my friend will be happy to move here.
