Chapter 2

(Samantha's POV)

(Aurther's note- My brother made most of this chapter, so credit goes to him)

A scientist walked into the room, and he gave me a disappointed look. I'm used to those kinds of looks everyone gives me when I survive a containment breach.

"I'm surprised he didn't kill you." Devon spoke slowly.

I looked at him confused. "What do you mean you're surprised he didn't kill me?"

He laughed, "I can see you are hurt?"

I nodded, "I was shot by a D-class. Wait, how did you know I was injured!"

Devon looked very disappointed, "There is a camera in every room in this foundation, so we saw everything. We were just waiting to see him kill you."

At this moment, I could tell this mad scientist wanted me dead.

I yelled furiously, "Well if you and the MTF didn't come barging in here, maybe he would have killed me! Would you like that, sir?!"

I don't know why I said that I guess I was just mad. I see SCP-049 watching us, while his head tilted to the side.

"First of all, I don't kill them, I cure them."

As I spoke, he seemed to become more and more upset at our conversation.

"Uhm, and why would I cure someone who isn't infected?"

Devon looked at the SCP and then back at me, "I do sense the disease in you though... Although you deny it, I can still tell."

The scientist turned towards the doctor. He wanted to say something to him but didn't. He looked at the MTF and told them to take him back to his cell.

He looked back at me, "Wait here for a real doctor to check your wound. Then, meet me in my office."

He left and as he did, he mumbled things to himself. By the tone in Devon's voice, I could tell he wasn't pleased with anything he just witnessed. I'm guessing he doesn't like interacting with people... Especially me of course. The doctor was a way different person. By different I mean the doctor was more friendly. I still don't know his name, but I'll figure it out sooner or later.

After a few minutes, the friendly doctor came into the room. He recleaned my gunshot wound, fixed my stitches, and bandaged it up. When he finished his task, I thanked him gratefully and he gave me a slight nod.

I left to go to Devon's Office as I was instructed to. When I got to Doven's office he told me to sit. I walked over to the chair and sat down. I guess he is going to sign me to another Safe-Class SCP because he only calls me to his office when he is assigning SCP'S.

He looked up from a file while handing it to me and said, "After the events that happened today, I'm going to assign you to SCP-049."

My eyes open wide, "What?! But that's not a safe class! He's Euclid!"

He grinded and started laughing, "That's the point because if he finds that you get 'infected', he will kill you and then we don't have to deal with you." This scientist is a mad man!

I just sighed and took the file.

His grin on his face was sly and unsettling, "You have an interview in an hour, get ready, guards will come get you when it's time."

I nodded, I got up to leave and I looked at him one last time. He was still grinding. I can tell this is not going to be good.

I left the room to go to my own office to go get ready for this interview. After getting the things I needed, I sat down in my chair and read more of SCP-049's file.

After an hour a few guards entered my office. I gather my stuff and walk with the guards to the interview room.

I look at the SCP in front of me. He is chained to the chair.

I looked at the one-way mirror that doubled as a window, "Can we unchain him?"

The speakers were quiet for a few seconds, "Go ahead."

I could tell, by the tone in their voice, they were happy I asked that because it gives the SCP a chance to attack if he wanted. The guards carefully take off his cuffs. SCP-049 just waited patiently for the interview to begin.

-------- Interviewer: - Dr. Samantha, Site-19

-------- Interviewee: - SCP-049

Interview Log:

Dr. Samantha - "Do you feel more comfortable?"

SCP-049 - "I feel a lot better, yes."

Dr. Samantha - "Do you need anything else before we proceed?"

SCP-049 - "No ma'am, there is nothing I can think of at the moment."

Dr. Samantha - "Great. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me. If you do need to ask, make sure you answer the question and then ask. Understood?"

SCP-049 - "Yes ma'am."

Dr. Samantha - "Please note that all information that you provide will be recorded and so will this whole interview. Understood?"

SCP-049 - "Understood."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SCP-049 was being surprisingly polite. It seemed like he was content with the hospitality and environment I was providing him with. My first goal was to make myself seem more friendly so he would relax more. This strategy isn't necessarily "putting on a fake face" but it's making yourself seem calmer and more reasonable.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Samantha - "Do you have any questions for me before we start?"

(SCP-049 shook his head no.)

Dr. Samantha - "Would you like me to review your rules and services?"

SCP-049 - "No, that will not be necessary."

Dr. Samantha - "Wonderful. Has anything come to your mind that you need, want, or have questions and/or comments about?"

SCP-049 - "Not at this time. I'll make sure to let you know if anything pops up in my mind."

Dr. Samantha - "Spectacular, now I'm going to begin questioning."

SCP-049 - "Yes ma'am."

Dr. Samantha - "So how did you like it in France? Was it better than here?"

(SCP-049 shrugged and looked down at the table.) SCP-049 - "In my opinion, France was better. It wasn't as... cramped."

(Dr. Samantha nodded and crossed one of her legs over the other.) Dr. Samantha - "But weren't there more people there?"

SCP-049 - "Yes, but it wasn't as enclosed as here. France was more refreshing because there was more to see and more room to move around."

Dr. Samantha - "Do you like traveling?"

(SCP-049 nodded.)

(Dr. Samantha smiled with a friendly expression.) Dr. Samantha - "If you could travel again and anywhere in the world, where would you travel to?"

SCP-049 - "Oh man, that's a tough question."

(Dr. Samantha nodded.) Dr. Samantha - "That's okay, take your time."

SCP-049 - "Oh goodness, this is a hard question to answer. I honestly don't know."

Dr. Samantha - "Okay, that's fine."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that SCP-049 seems content, I thought it was time to ask more in-depth questions. What I was doing was gradually building up the intensity of the questions I was asking him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(SCP-049 tilted his head while still looking at the table in his train of thought.)

(Samantha looked at her clipboard and twirled a loose strand of her hair around her finger)

Dr. Samantha - "How long have you been working on the Pestilence?"

(SCP-049 looked up from the table.) SCP-049 - "Oh, you know the Pestilence!"

(Dr. Samantha nodded.) Dr. Samantha - "Some of the workers here call it, 'The Black Death', which had ended in 1553."

SCP-049 - "Oh, but it's not over, many people are still infected by it."

(Dr. Samantha nodded and jotted something down on a paper on the clipboard.)

Dr. Samantha - "Okay, do you have any specific names of people who are still infected?"

(SCP-049 when quiet and smirked at Dr. Samantha.)

(Dr. Samantha smiled patiently and politely back at SCP-049.)

Dr. Samantha - "Do you, sir?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before he could answer all the lights go out and a blaring siren goes off red lights flash on and off. The lights come back on. Sammatha looks over at the speakers as they turn on and one of the high-level scientists Speaks calmly. "We are experiencing a Euclid and keter containment breach SCP that escape- SCP-076-2, SCP-939, SCP-106, SCP-035, and SCP- 049
