Eliza's p.o.v.  (picture of Eliza cover of book)

I run through the crowded hallways binders and books in hand. I run trying not to be late to class. I see the door thinking I'll get there in time, but I'm shoved into the lockers before I get to the door. I look up and see the people I was hoping to avoid. My bullies. I look at them hoping for a little sympathy but get a punch in the face. Not ready for the impact I fall to the floor hitting my head on the lockers as I fall. My vision gets blurry from me trying to hold back the tears. When I think it's over, I get kicked in the ribs. I tried not to scream in pain, but it hurt too much. This led to me getting kicked in the nose. The beating continues. While I'm being beaten, I get a small glimpse of the clock and see that it is two minutes till class. My bullies too notice this and kick me one more time in the face and run to their class. 

As I see that there fully out of view I try and get up but fall back down not able to keep myself up I hit my head on the cold tile and my vision becomes fuzzy. Soon all I see is a sliver of light and the last thing a saw was someone with cool gray combat boots on and some white socks. I then let the darkness consume me.

??? P.o.v.

As I was walking through the hallway, I saw a girl. I walk up to her and see that she is bruised and bleeding badly. She seemed awake at first but soon sleep took over her. I decide to help her, and I pick her up. I then see that her stuff is scattered around her, so I decide to grab it too before it gets kicked around the halls. I set the girl down for a second and pick up her stuff and put it in my satchel. I then pick the girl back up. I head to my class so I can get a note to go to the nurse's office. I kick the door since I'm not able to knock. The door soon swings open reviling lily one of my best friends. She looks at me with a shocked face, but I ignore her and walk over to the teacher and explain the situation.

The teacher writes me a note and I thank her. I then run to the office. Once I get their I stop running and walk to the nurse's office in the back. Teachers and other staff ask me questions of why im here, but I just keep walking. I soon arrive at the nurse's office and walk in. I walk over and set the girl down on the bed. I grab the blanket at the end of the bed and make sure she's comfortable. Once I get her sic waited, I turn and look at the nurse.

"what happened to her" the nurse asks me

"i don't know I was just walking to class since I was a little late and saw her beaten up and blood puddles' I tell her concerned written all over my face

"well do you know her name?" the nurse says trying to keep calm

"no, I do not but I'm pretty sure she is the same grade I am" I tell her

"well can I get your name so I can make sure she is going to be watched over by someone with a good heart" she says

"wait what do you mean watch over her" I question

"this wasn't an accident some other kid did this to her" she says

"wha?!? Who would do that to her" I yell.

"shhh. We don't want to wake her" the nurse says

"oh sorry" I say and look at my feet

"so im going to ask you again what your name is" she says

"cloudia" I say looking back at her

"ok cloudia you are now going to be her temporary guardian" the nurse says and looks at me

"that sounds like I'm only here to protect her?" I tell her

"hmm how about friends" she says to me

"better" I tell her

"well I have some other students to take care of so you get comfortable because you arn't going to leave her side only if she needs help or something" the nurse told me

"I would never leave my new friend" I tell her

"good" she then walks off

"I'm going to be here awhile" I say out loud

Mind: maybe I can take a nap.

I think and slowly begin to fall asleep.
