P.O.V. Third

The young queen-to-be known as Ember was currently looking around the rather large ballroom that was in the castle. Eclipse was using her strings to roll up a rather large sign and at the moment. "Doesn't all this seem a bit excessive?" Ember asked as she looked up at one of the figures in front of her.

"Not at all, you're the queen to be of the kingdom after all. So it only makes sense that we throw a large festival to celebrate," Eclipse said as she looked at the female in front of her. Ember seemed a bit distressed hearing this, while her birthday had always been a special occasion for her family, it wasn't anything nearly as festive as what they were doing for her.

They were making the entire day a grand celebration for her, even letting in many of the citizens from the city into the castle's ballroom. Ember appreciated a lot of the effort that they were trying to do however none of this really felt natural to her. While many of the guests were instructed not to bring gifts, a lot of them did anyway.

Ember sighed and once again looked at the decorations in front of her. "I'll uh . . . I'll be in the library if anyone needs me," Ember said as she looked at the figures in front of her causing them to nod before she sighed and began to walk away from them. Ember eventually made it when she made it to the library she heard someone walking behind her and turned to see a familiar pink haired male looking at her.

"Oh, hey Ko," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Hey, so I've got to ask is there anything specific you want for your birthday?" Ko asked as he looked at the female in front of him.

"Hmm . . . nope, nothing really comes to mind when it comes to something that I want," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Come on, there's got to be something you want. If you're worried that I'll get it just because you said that you wanted it then you don't have to worry. I've already got you something, and for some reason, I doubt it's going to be something that you really want," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"Alright fine, I'll tell you but you have to promise not to tell King," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her and Ko nodded.

"I promise," Ko said as he looked at her with a smile. Ember nodded hearing this and began to fidget slightly as she stood in place. She seemed to be working up the nerve to tell Ko about whatever it was she wanted. Ember's face then turned a slight shade of red and she began pressing her fingers together in a slightly nervous manner. "I was . . . sort of hoping . . . King would get me . . . a . . ." Ember began however as she continued she began mumbling to herself.

"I'm sorry, what was that? I couldn't quite hear you," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him. As soon as he said this Ember once again stated what she had just said, and like before she began to mumble as she got to the part about what she wanted. However, Ko could see that her face slowly turning from a slight shade of pink to a deep shade of red. It was clear that she was getting more and more embarrassed as time went on.

"One more time, I didn't really-" Ko began only to get cut off by Ember.

"I SAID I WANT A PAIR ACCESSORY!" Ember screamed as she looked at the male in front of her. "Geez how many times are you going to make me say something so embarrassing," Ember said as she tried to cover her still red face.

"Sorry," Ko said a bit nervous as he looked at the male in front of him. "Although a pair accessory? I'll admit, that's not something I really expected from someone like you," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"Don't be ridiculous, that's something any girl would want at some point . . . I think," Ember said trying to defend herself as she looked at the male in front of her. Ko nodded hearing this and looked at her.

"If you want it that bad, then why don't you just tell him? Even if you don't want to tell him directly because of how embarrassing it is to ask for things. You could drop a few hints here and there, I think he's smart enough to pick up on the message and get it for you," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I know, but I want him to do it on his own. I don't want to seem ungrateful for what he's doing already by asking for a certain gift. I mean the entire kingdom is already celebrating and while guest have been told that bringing their own gift isn't necessary, I'm sure a lot of people will anyway. After all that, I don't want to seem stuck up by asking for something specific even after they've all went out of their way to get me something already," Ember said a bit embarrassed she looked at the ground in front of her.

Ko nodded in understanding hearing this and looked at the female in front of him. "Well nonetheless, come on, I'm getting bored here, let's see if we can't find a way to entertain ourselves," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him causing her to nod with a smile. However, unknown to the two just on the other side of the building two of their friends were together as well training with one another.

King and Javon were once again sparing, however this time compared to how they usually fought, it seemed to be just strictly hand-to-hand combat. Javon then turned to try and hit King with the back of his fist. As he did King jumped back and stopped the attack, and Javon began pushing against his fist to try and overpower him. As he did King reached up grabbing his inner arm and pressing it to bend his arm back.

As he did Javon grit his teeth as he felt his back touch King's and then a moment later was tossed into the air. When he landed he immediately charged towards King prepared to tackle him. As he did King punched the back of his head disorienting him slightly before kicking him away. As he did Javon landed and took another basic fighting stance staring at him, he seemed to lose his balance for a minute showing one of his many personalities had taken over.

Seeing this King dashed forward ready to attack the male in front of him. King went to punch the male's head causing him to dodge the attack by ducking under it. King followed this attack up by turning slightly to try and hit Javon with the back of his hand only for the male to jump back and avoid the attack. Javon then dashed forward trying to punch King's chest only for him to avoid the attack, and King to follow it up with his own attempted punch to the face.

Javon then went to once again attack the male and King moved forward locking their arms together bring Javon's hand up before pulling it back in a rather uncomfortable and slightly painful fashion. Javon's back hit the ground with a solid thud, however, he used this to his advantage to push his feet up and kick King off of him. Seeing that he was on the ground Javon then rand after him and prepared to attack.

As he did King kicked himself off the ground almost kicking Javon in the face, but came just an inch short of hitting him. This caught Javon off guard and he moved back only for King to place his hand on the ground and kick Javon on the side of the head sending him back. As he did King landed on his feet and then jumped towards the male headbutting him. As he did Javon held his nose as he was sent back before he seemed to change personalities once again.

As he did King once again dashed forward tackling the male before he could get too far away however King hit the side of his head sending him away. That was the one thing Javon needed to be careful of when fighting, it was a small weakness that few were aware of and fewer were likely to pick up in the heat of battle. However, when Javon switched from personality to personality whoever was in control needed a second or two so that they could register what was going on at the moment, leaving them open for an attack.

King then wrapped both of his hands around the back of the males head and pulled him forward slamming one of his knees into Javon's chest. As he did King then punched the male in the nose sending him back, and as he did he saw Javon staring at him with a rather innocent smile. "Is that all you got?" Javon asked as he looked at the male in front of him. Despite how he was acting it was still very clear at the moment who was winning their little bout.

Javon then tried to punch King's face which he avoided by jumping back and then kicking the male on the side of the face. When he landed he followed this up with a punch, and Javon turned to let the attack hit his back so it would cause less damage and then turning to try and hit the back of King's head with the back of his hand. However, King ducked under this attack turning as he did before looking at Javon.

Javon then went for another punch and King and King redirected it away from him before hitting the side of his hand with the back of his fist, and then pulling back for a second hit to the face. Despite the smile and the rather calm façade that Javon had on at the moment, it was clear to see that every hit was slowing him down, and having some effect on him. Javon then tried to hit King with the back of his hand only for King to stop the attack, grabbing his wrist as he did.

Javon then turned as he did and jumped forward to try and headbutt King. As he did King moved to the side grabbing the side of his head and then moving his hand back to grip his hair and then slamming his head to the ground. As he did Javon rolled forward and turned to look at the male in front of him ready to once again attack. King then ran at him and Javon stood up and raised his leg to try and kick King's side which King managed to block.

Javon the pulled back ready to punch the male, however, King counter this by delivering a swift uppercut to the male's jaw sending him back slightly, and then King pulled back and punched the male in the face. After he did Javon moved back and finally managed to land an attack on King punching him in the jaw sending him back. Javon then ran forward and raised his leg delivering an Axe kick to King's back sending him to the ground.

Javon then moved closer and King pressed a hand on the ground and turned back kicking Javon on the side of the head and pushing himself up. King then moved forward and elbowed Javon's face, as he did Javon once again seemed a bit disoriented showing that he had once again switched personalities. King then leaned back to kick the male in the face sending him back as he did. Javon then grits his teeth feeling this and charged towards the male in front of him with reckless abandon.

Seeing then King waited until he got close before jumping back and kicking the male in the stomach sending him into the air. When he did King jumped after him a second later raised his fist into the air and then punched Javon in the stomach sending him back down to the ground. After seeing this Javon struggled to get back up and Xiantao stepped between them. "That's enough," The male said as he looked at the two in front of him.

"That winner is King," Xiantao said as he looked at the male in front of him. "Would you like for me to call for one of the nurses?" Xiantao asked as he looked at the male in front of him causing Javon to shake his head. When he did Xiantao nodded and turned to look at King.

"Now then my prince, I think it's time that we leave. After all, you've got quite a few stops to make before the day is over," Xiantao said as he looked at the male in front of him causing King to nod as he looked up at the male in front of him. The two then began to walk away and Javon began to feel some rage start to build up inside of him. Not his own of course but he could feel one of the other personalities trying to push through and take control.

Unfortunately, this was rather easy for this personality to do. Once he was in control her dived towards King. He was tired of always losing to this prince, no matter many times he challenged him or what he tried to do differently. He had finally had enough, and it was time that he knew it! However, before he could a hand reached out and stopped him and when Javon looked to see who had stopped him it appeared to be . . . himself?

Javon couldn't make sense of what he was seeing and the second he quickly disappeared causing the male to become even more distressed. Once the two had left the room Javon grit his teeth and stood up and screamed in anger. "Why did you do that? We had him!" Javon declared to seemingly no one.

"No you didn't," Javon said as he began to argue with himself once again. "Yes, I did! No, you didn't. Yes, I did! No . . . you didn't," Javon said as he went back and forth with himself. "If you had attacked him do you know what would have happened to the original? Well first off the attack would have failed since King's semblance would have once again been up and ready. So you would have broken our wrist, and even if you did somehow get past it, we'd all be spending the rest of our life rotting in the dungeon," Javon said as he argued with himself.

"That is assuming that the judges were feeling generous. Remember what happened to the last guy that made an attempt on King's life?" Javon asked as he began pacing back and forth arguing with himself different personalities switching in and out as they pleased. "Yeah, they buried most of his body, and then covered what was left in honey and let ants eat him while he was still alive," Javon said as he paced back and forth, having completely forgotten about going to the nurse at this point.

As he did, King and Xiantao had just stepped into a small carriage and the two began to ride down the streets together moments later. As they did King once again looked out the small window that he had and smiled as he saw all the people waving at him and decided to return the favor as often as he could. When the carriage finally came to a stop he saw both Rain and Eclipse standing in front of a small store.

King smiled seeing this and slowly made his way out of the carriage walking up to them. "I hope you finished the decorations before you left," King said as he looked up at the female in front of him causing her to nod.

"Of course," Eclipse said as she looked at the male with a smile and King nodded as he walked into the store. He had asked them to accompany him so that he could get Ember a suitable gift, they were his most trusted advisors after all, so it was only natural that he would take their advice on the smaller details. King had heard this store had a wide selection of items ranging from completely pointless to things some people couldn't live without.

King smiled as he walked around the store trying to find something that would capture both Ember attention and her heart. As he walked through the store while he did see several things that he deemed as useful he didn't see anything that would make an interesting gift for Ember. "My prince," King heard a familiar voice call out and turned to look at the figure behind him and saw that Rain was pointing to a collection of perfume.

"I'm not sure what type of perfume Ember likes, but perhaps something from here will do?" Rain asked as he looked at the male in front of him. King walked over to it scanning the selection before shaking his head.

"No, that might come off as an insult. Like I'm telling her that she smells bad. Not only that but Emma only wears mew mew," King said as he leaned down and saw the brand that he had been referring to before leaning up and holding it for the male. When he did Rain took the bottle and turned it over to look on the back of it.

"Contains notes of lily of the valley, rose, jasmine, green notes, and . . . patchouli oil?" Rain asked a bit confused as he looked at the bottle in front of him completely confused by what he was seeing.

"Really?" Eclipse asked as she looked at the perfume bottle in front of her. Eclipse then took the perfume and sprayed her wrist with it, and looked at the perfume, it was aldehydic, wan, and vaguely watery. Eclipse then leaned closer and smelled her wrist, true to the notes on the back she could smell a mix of powers, and then a woody and even mossy type of smell, with a small hint of ground peppers which almost seemed to overpower the other notes.

"She likes this? Why?" Eclipse asked as she looked at the perfume bottle she was holding. "I'll admit it's a bit different, but even so," Eclipse said as she tried to figure out what the appeal was to this rather strange perfume. Eclipse then shrugged and put the bottle back before turning to look at King. As she did she saw that he had made his way over to where Xiantao was who seemed to be pointing to a few dresses.

"I don't know, I don't think Emma would like this, she usually wears sundresses after all," King said as he looked at the male in front of him causing Xiantao to nod. He hadn't thought about it until now but whenever he saw Ember she was typically wearing a sundress of some kind.

"I don't think we're going to find anything here, so we should probably move onto the next store," King said as he looked at the three in front of him causing them to nod and start to walk out of the store. When they arrived they once again noted that the store had a rather large selection of goods scattered throughout the store. The four once again slowly spread throughout the building and began looking for anything of interest.

King then eventually came to a small area that seemed to be sectioned off from the rest of the building. It seemed to be a jewelry department of the store however all the items were a bit different than what he was used to seeing. It had bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and of course rings of all different shapes and sizes. All of which seemed to have a different style to them than anything he had seen before.

It didn't take long for a male to come out from the back with a smile. "Oh good morning my prince, how may I be of service?" The male asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"I was just looking at this jewelry. It's not like anything I've ever seen before," King asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"Thank you, my prince," The male said with a smile, it seemed like he was rather happy to receive the male's praise.

"Where did you get this stuff?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"Oh, well I made it. I've got some certificates for some of the stuff," The male said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"You made this?" King questioned as he looked at the male in front of him causing him to nod proudly.

"Indeed, it's my dream to one day have Trigelph renown for its jewelry craftsmanship," The male said as he looked at King.

"I see, well that's quite a noble ambition to have, and if these are anything to go on then I have to say that you're off to a rather fine start," King said as he began to admire the several different kinds of trinkets in front of him. However, then his eyes came across something that he thought was rather intriguing. It appeared to be a small locket in the shape of a heart with a rather interesting design to it, and beside it was a small key with a similar design hanging from a necklace.

"What's this?" King asked looking at the locket in front of him.

"Oh, that's a couples locket thing I made a while ago. Don't really know why, but I thought it would be nice for someone that came in looking for a gift for their sweetheart. Why? Has it caught your attention, my prince?" The male asked as he looked at King.

"Perhaps, would it be alright to get a closer look at it?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him. The male nodded hearing this and reached into the case pulling out both pieces to the locket and handing it to him.

"Here you are my prince," The male said as he handed the small locket to King. When he did King began to inspect the locket, it seemed to be made of gold with pieces of a ruby in it. Then there were trace amounts of gold that wrapped around the ruby making it look like vines were covering it. King could see a few Trigelphian symbols scratched into the locket. Most around Remnant wouldn't be able to read these small symbols but King could read them just fine.

His family had invented the language after all, and it read 'Only he who holds the key can unlock my heart' King could see the key was supposed to go in the top of the heart, so he put the small key into the locket causing it to open. When he did he saw that one side once again had some words etched into it, like before it was written in Trigelphian but the message made him smile. 'You'll always be in my heart' He thought it was a bit cheesy but he still found it a bit cute.

"How much?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him. However before he could say anything, Eclipse walked up to him. Unknown to King she had been watching him for a while, and now she felt it was time to interfere.

"My prince, while the gesture is a bit sweet. I believe you should think a bit bigger. Someone like Ember deserves much more than just a piece of jewelry. She deserves both an act and declaration of love!" Eclipse said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Like what?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him and she smiled as she looked at him.

"Please follow me," Eclipse said as she began walking away from the male. As she did King nodded and followed her to one of the many windows that the building had and Eclipse pointed across the street to a rather large flower shop. "It seems as if they've just got a shipment of flowers, I'm certain that Ember would love it if you got her some of her favorite flowers," Eclipse said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King nodded hearing this and the two began to walk out of the building following Eclipse as he did. However unknown to him Ember was currently in a rather large room with several dresses around her. "Are you sure about this?" Ember asked as she looked at herself in the mirror in front of her. It seemed like she was a bit embarrassed by what she was wearing.

"Of course darling! I'm sure you'll look great," The female said as she looked at the door in front of her. Ember then took a deep breath hearing this and came out of the small changing room revealing what she was wearing. She was wearing a long pink frilly dress, she usually didn't wear things like this, and while she thought it was cute she also felt extremely embarrassed, thinking that maybe the dress was a bit excessive in certain places.

"I don't know, I'm still not too sure about this," Ember said as she looked down at the dress in front of her.

"Nonsense! You look great, I'm sure you'll be the most beautiful girl at the party," The female said as she looked at Ember. When she said this Ember nodded to pacify her and began to walk towards her. As she did another figure walked in and looked at the two with a smile.

"I'm being told that the guests are starting to arrive," The female said as she looked at the two in front of her. Once she said this Ember nodded and she made her way over to the thin sheet that separated her from the others. As she looked out she saw that several people had already arrived and that they had brought several gifts for her. As Ember looked at the large crowd that continued to grow her eyes eventually came across King who at the moment was talking to a few of the other civilians in the room.

Ember smiled seeing him as she scanned the room for anyone else of interest, she saw most of her friends sitting in a corner talking to each other as well as that weird teacher that King had to teach him about cooking a while ago. She had been told that he was left in charge of most of the food that was at the party. Ember waited and after a few hours, it seemed like no more people were going to arrive at the party.

The room was crowded and it looked and Ember thought that it was a bit amazing that they had a room big enough to fit this many people inside of it. "Ladies and gentleman, please help me welcome the girl of the hour, princess Ember Empa," A male said with a smile and Ember slowly walked out from behind the thin sheet that she had been hiding behind looking at the several people in front of her.

Ember's face was stained a slight shade of pink as she looked at the several people in front of her. Ember this slowly walked down the stairs hearing several people clapping as she did. Ember's face turning from a light pink to a deep red at the embarrassment of doing this. Once she reached the bottom of the stairs the masked figure known as Canine approached her with a smile. "Your royal highness, with your permission, I would like to unveil my gift to you," Canine said as he looked at the female causing her to nod.

Canine smiled and a moment later a large sheet was dropped revealing a rather large cake. The largest that Ember had ever seen in fact. It must have taken him hours to bake a cake that size since there was no way it could fit in a single oven or even a hundred ovens for that matter. "I present you my, heh 'crowning' achievement," The male said as he looked at the female in front of him causing her to nervously smile as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Well then, princess since you're opening presents, would you like to look at the others?" Xiantao asked as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember seemed a bit nervous hearing this and hesitantly nodded as he took her over to the table that at this point was covered in gifts. "The big one with the sheet over it is from King," Xiantao whispered as he brought her over to the table. He thought it would be nicer to tell her so that she wouldn't have to search for it.

Ember nodded hearing this and picked up a small box that she saw. When she did she saw that it was from Ko. Ember then opened it and saw that it was a bottle of Mew mew perfume, and smiled. She was almost out, and she thought it was nice that Ko knew what brand she wore. She was also a bit surprised he was able to afford it since he wasn't rich like King or herself. He could have gone to pretty much any store that sold perfume and gotten ten bottles for the same price.

Ember then moved down a bit slowly making her way over to King's present opening others as she did. Ember smiled as she eventually got to King's gift and smiled as she waited until the thin layer of cloth was removed. When it was Ember saw a giant heart made of flowers, as well as a small rose in a vase and small card. Ember smiled seeing this and walked forward to read the card, and she smiled seeing the message written inside.

With that first kiss we were connected, then our hands were torn apart. That was when I knew, I never want you to be alone. The emotions I felt the night of our second kiss, I could no longer deny how I felt for you. I wandered so long about losing you. Losing the music that feels my world. That's my biggest fear. This song that fills my soul, is a treasure that's written by your smile. I know around you I'm a bit awkward so it's hard for me to express my love. But even so, you stuck by my side through it all. No one else has ever made me feel this. I want your hand in mine forever. Our secret song is beautiful, and it's time others knew of its beauty. Listen to this song, and know that my love for you will never fade. So as you blow the candles on your cake, I want you to remember there's one flame that will never go out . . . the one burning in my heart, for you.

Ember smiled seeing this and blushed as she turned to look at the male that had written the note for her. King smiled a bit sheepishly and Ember leaned forward to hug the male causing a lot of the crowd to coo around them. King quickly returned her hug and leaned in close to her ear. "Meet me on the balcony later," King whispered as he separated from her with a smile. Ember seemed a bit surprised hearing this and smiled when she saw King.

"Well don't keep the other's waiting, I'm sure they want to see you open their gifts as well," King said with a smile as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember nodded hearing this and began to open the other presents that had been bought for her. As she did she saw that King had already began walking over to the balcony. Ember smiled seeing this and continued to open her presents and once she had finished she sighed and looked around.

Ember then began to make her way to the balcony and was stopped by Ko and Javon who wanted to talk to her. "So are you enjoying your party?" Ko asked as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember sighed hearing this and nodded, she sighed not because she was annoyed or irritated but because she was exhausted with everything that had happened throughout the day.

"Yeah, I really appreciate what they did and all, but even so this is just so excessive even if I am the princess to be. I mean I can't recall a single time that we ever celebrated his birthday like this," Ember said as she looked at the two males in front of her.

"I guess, but maybe he just wants to make this day special for you. After all, he didn't do it for you either until this past year. I think he's just trying to show he cares, after all, he wrote you that sweet love letter and all," Javon said as he looked at the female in front of him causing her to nod with a smile.

"More importantly I'm a bit surprised that you didn't seem disappointed with your gift. There wasn't the slightest hint of you being upset, you smiled and hugged him," Ko said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"Of course I was a bit upset, but the last thing I want to do is act entitled or stuck up. I mean the letter was still sweet, and it's not like I ever told anyone other than you what I wanted, so there's no way King could have known. The last thing I want to do is act like some entitled brat and ruin everyone's fun," Ember said as she looked at the two in front of her causing Ko to nod with a smile.

"If you'll excuse me, there's something I need to do," Ember said as she looked at the male before walking past the two and making her way over to the balcony. When she arrived she saw King leaning against the edge. It was a bit dark, and she could see the stars starting to show up in the sky. Ember smiled and slowly walked towards the male with a smile. Ember then began to lean against the edge as well and King smiled as he turned to look at her.

"Great view huh?" King asked as he looked at her.

"Yeah," Ember said as she looked out at the kingdom in front of them.

"Um," King began causing Ember to look at him. "I know I already gave you one in there, but," King said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small wrapped box. "I got this as well," King said as he looked at her. Ember then slowly reached forward and opened the small wrapped box and opened it. When she did she saw two necklaces. One being a small locket with a message, and the other being a small key which seemed to open the locket.

"A pair accessory," Ember said as she looked down at the box in front of her.

"Yeah, it's super cheesy and cliché I know, but I saw it and thought it was cute. So . . . I got it for you. It was actually going to be my original gift but Eclipse said I should try and go bigger, but I still wanted to give it to you so . . . yeah," King said as he scratched the back of his head a bit nervous. "Do you like it?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I love it," Ember said with a smile as she reached forward to hug the male. "Want to help me put it on?" Ember asked as she looked at the male in front of her causing King to nod with a slight smile. Ember smiled seeing this and turned around as she watched King slowly put the necklace on her. Ember smiled as he did and then turned around looking at him.

"What do you think?" Ember asked as she looked at him with a smile.

"You look great," King said as he looked at her with a smile causing her to nod. Ember smiled seeing this and the two turned to look at the city in front of him before placing her head on the male's shoulder with a smile.
