Tobi

Gunfire, screams, the sounds of a war. Looking around I can't make anything out except for fire and blood. It seems we're in the air on some kind of craft but I can't tell what kind. I see a sudden flash and look around seeing streaks of light aimed at something purple moving quickly.I see two figures fighting but they're blurry, one larger than the other. The smaller struck down the larger and started walking toward me. The purple figure slams into it and lets out a scream before the craft exploded. Suddenly I jolt awake and hold my throbbing head. These abilities are a pain in the ass... well brain in my case. It's been about a week since I got them and the nightmares never stop coming.

"Tobi? You okay?" Robin asked me sitting next to me on the couch "You haven't been sleeping well, do you want to talk about it?"

"No. I don't." I say bluntly attempting to stand up only to have Robin grab my arm and pull me down. "What? I don't need to be babied like the others I'm only a year younger than you"

"So what? That doesn't mean anything right now. We all need to keep our health up which means you need to get better rest and if that means I need to force you, I will." She said looking at me with a stern face. "Now talk to me or-"

"I. Said. No." I cut her off standing again and storming out of the room. I love having a short temper from lack of sleep... I walked into my room, bland as ever.

I looked around seeing the boxes of posters and entertainment items I had been given but never bothered unpacking. The only things I needed were my books. What to read this time... how about we learn some more medicine, we always seem to end up hurt one way or another especially during these fights they make us do. Maybe I can put these stupid time powers to good use and reverse wounds. I grab an anatomy book and begin reading. I get pulled from the pages by the sound of someone slamming their fist into my door. I groan and close my book looking at the clock, oh god I was reading for hours... why can't I sleep that easily?

I open the door and see Crystal's friendly face smiling up at me "What?" I ask flatly and slightly irritated

"They want us all in the training area. Not optional." She smiles back ignoring my bad mood "Hurry up or Erica comes next." She said before walking away

"Damn kid... I'd rather not have her drag me again..." I sigh and start to walk to the arenas. Along the way Arc joins me equally happy about it. "Bet you wish that EMP bought more than a month don't ya?" I ask him earning a glare

"My leg still hurts a bit and I fried another laptop... I wish I would've killed the bastard who put us here." He replies to which I nod "But I guess a month of no testing did us some good. Let you guys naturally unlock your abilities. How are yours treating you?"

"I have horrible nightmares every night. I don't know if they're related to the powers or not but they seem to be of the future. Maybe the past... I don't know time is weird." I sigh bumping into someone in a jumpsuit like ours

"H-hey! W-w-watch where yo-you're going!" She stuttered angrily. Was she nervous or just a natural thing? She turned and stormed off, I caught a glimpse of the name on her back.... Morris.... wait isn't that Ty's last name?

Arc pulled me from my thoughts when he zapped me "OW!!! What was that for?"

"I think it's funny you people still think I can control that." He said coldly before walking ahead of me. Guess that hit a nerve. I follow behind him until we get to the 'arenas'. I stand next to Nikki while Arc went over to Robin and Crystal.

A few minutes later our favorite southern man appeared "Alright brats we have a few things to get started today, firstly we need to see how you are with your powers. Steins! In the octagon now!" He demanded as Nikki and Erica walked forward.

"I hope you know this is an unfair fight. Stacking the odds in your favor?" Nikki asked

"Not at all, we got you a plant." One of the other guards said pointing to a potted rose

"Yeah... helpful..." Nikki said stepping into the ring with Erica close behind. The two of them readied themselves in fighting stances and began the match.

Erica charged forward and attempted to punch Nikki in the stomach but he dodged and slammed his fists into her back. That however only made her irritated, her power over stone had somehow increased her pain tolerance. He winced and jumped back shaking his hands while Erica placed her hand on the ground and pulled up one of the tiles from the ground clapping her hands together forming her weapons, a pair of stone gauntlets. She jumped forward and tried to hit Nikki, barely missing his face, which now held a slight look of fear. He stumbled back, falling to the ground. He began to crawl backwards while Erica stumbled forward still not used to the weight of her punches. He stood up and looked back to his potted plant with a sigh as he ran to it. He plucked it from the dirt and flicked it toward his sister sending thorns from the stem.

"So... who do you think bet on who?" Robin asked Tyler while we heard Nikki scream from the cage.

"I think Lee bet on Erica, Austin too..." Tyler replied "Brooke bet on Nikk no doubt."

"Why do you say that?" Robin asked again

"Well they actually gave him a plant. If no one bet on him then they wouldn't have bothered."

"Fair, who do you think is gonna-"

"Erica." Tyler cut her off "No doubt about it. Nothing against Nikki."

There was a crash against the cages causing all of our attentions to be drawn back to the fighting.

Nikki had grown the rose around his hand and the stem had extended into a whip. He was giving Erica a decent fight forcing her to think on the fly for defensive tactics. He smirked and stepped forward into his swing not realizing he was stepping into the hole where the missing tile was. He tripped slashing at the floor and smacked his face against the ground. Erica took her chance and ran forward throwing one of the gauntlets pinning Nikki to the ground. He struggled and growled trying to get free as Erica stood above him with her other fist raised. He sighed and stopped struggling.

"I give up..." Nikki said reluctantly

Erica let him up and gave him a smile "You did well, if you hadn't tripped you probably would've had me."

"Maybe, but I still haven't won." Nikki growled earning a smack in the back of his head from Robin as they walked out of the arena.

"No one likes a whiner Nikk." Robin told him

"Tell you what people do like though, winning a nice bet." Lee laughed walking over with the girl from before. "Now, we don't really have the mon- er, time for another match so we're moving on to the main event." He said pushing the girl forward

"Tyreen Morris, I'm like you all... just better." She said with a smirk pushing up her glasses

"Hate her already... so what is your relationship to Ty?" I asked earning a glare from both of them

"She's my cousin. Assuming she has the power of darkness yes?" Tyler asked her crossing his arms.

"Absolutely, and you MUST have the weak power of light. You know that is if you actually unlocked your powers." Tyreen snickered

"Now, Morris... uh, girl Morris, pick an opponent." Lee told her looking over us

"The little one. There. What's his name?" Tyreen asked pointing to Arc.

"That little troublemaker is Nakamura. He's the one that knocked the power out them weeks ago" Lee told her.

"Is it okay if I break him a bit?" She asked with a sadistic smirk

"By all means." Lee replied
