This Changes Everything

"Stand true to your calling to be a man. Real women will always be relieved and grateful when men are willing to be men."

~Elisabeth Elliott.

Post debriefing...

"I have something here." Sierra pulled a wrinkled, letter-sized flier from her pocket and passed it to Johnny. "This changes everything."

She had found the flier on one of the A.M.A.H. security guards' desks. The entire team crowded around Steele so they could view it together.

The story continued...

The Professor was the first to break the silence. "Fifty thousand chaos followers, all chanting at once. They will open the portal. It is just a matter of time until The One Who Should Not Be Named is released into our world. May God have mercy on us all." The remainder of the team stood in stunned silence

All our hard work to delay this went for nothing!" Frederick cried!

John raised his eyes from the dreaded flier and looked boldly at Sierra. "Okay, Chief, what is our plan?"

Sierra gave Johnny a dazzling smile of thanks. "First, this is too big for our team to handle alone."

The redheaded psychic paused. "We must hire approximately twenty to twenty-five Mercenaries. Mercs, who won't turn and run if they encounter something supernatural. I want them here, tomorrow if possible, at the compound in Luvcraft."

Sierra continued. We don't know if the Chaos Cult will try to strike back at us for our last escapade. We can use the added protection. Plus, we need to start training them immediately for this mission."

She looked toward her brother Freddy, "Can you find what we need, brother?" Frederick nodded briskly. "I will make some calls, boss."

Sierra stared at the Professor. "He is going to need your pocketbook, sir."

The little man seemed to come out of a trance and replied, "Of course, my dear, I will lend Frederick a hand." He strode quietly after the departing Major Masters.

John Steele asked warmly, "What can I do to help you with this, my darling?" Sierra responded, "It would be nice if you could just hold me for a few minutes, baby."

He was by her side in two quick steps, and seconds later, she felt his arms around her. She felt his strength. Without using her powers, she felt his goodness—this special man—her soulmate- the love of her life.

Steele coaxed, "Why don't we sleep on it, Sierra? You will come up with a plan. I know you will. You always do."

Sierra smiled tenderly at her Johnny. Her eyes lit up, and she looked startled. "You know what, Johnny, I have this idea that might work."

Steele kissed her lightly on her neck. "I told you not to worry."

"I'm sorry, Johnny," she sighed," but I am afraid this will be an all-nighter."

Steele smiled. "It's okay, Sierra; I will make the coffee."

Briefing: The next day- 34 days until the Festival...

"So that is the entire plan." Sierra paused and looked at her team. "As you can see, there will be many moving parts; this is very complex. We must infiltrate their communications, security, everything for this to work."

Sierra Masters hesitated, then continued, "Therefore, I also have a Plan B. Under no circumstances can we allow our enemies to complete the portal spell. Only one of the mercenaries and I will be aware of this plan. This will make it harder for any members of the Chaos Cult to ferret it out."

Sierra's voice sounded harsh, "But- know this. If the original plan should go south for some reason, I will not hesitate to implement the backup plan. Okay, that's all. Do you have any questions?"
