Blast Outcomes
August 21
Spy School
The blast sent me and Mason flying. We sailed through the air. We crashed through the window we climbed out of. Our fellow classmates took cover as we went flying over them.
We landed with a loud crash on top of the desks. The blast shook the entire classroom. The windows shattered and cabinets went flying. One of the fake bombs nearly clonked me on the head. It crashed onto the floor beside me. This of course made it detonate. Lots of smoke came billowing out of it blocking my view and getting into my eyes and throat.
I squeezed my eyes shut and coughed trying to get the smoke out of my mouth. I crawled away from the bomb and hit something. Someone.
I opened my eyes and saw Mason right in front of me. She was underneath a desk and was curled up into a ball. She looked frightened. Her eyes looked like they were going to pop out of her head. She didn't say anything as I crawled next to her.
" H-hey." I croaked. My throat was burning. I coughed some more. I never knew it could actually hurt to talk.
Mason still didn't say anything. She just rocked back and forth. It took everything I had to form a few words.
" I-It's okay. It's going to be okay." I managed to say. She looked up at me and leaned on my shoulder. I could feel her shaking. I put an arm around her to comfort her.
Erica meanwhile was literally freaking out over the phone.
" Oh my god! Aurora are you okay?! I'm coming over right now!" She yelled into my ear.
" O-okay." I said.
Those were the last words I said before I blacked out.
XXX
I heard voices. They were faded a little, but I could recognize them.
" I knew we shouldn't have let her start early! First day of school and she's already been targeted!" Mom yelled. She sounded far away.
" She hasn't been targeted. The bomb just malfunctioned." I heard dad say. He sounded far away too. Where am I? I tried to open my eyes, but failed. They felt heavy from the tiredness that I was feeling. I felt like going back to sleep, but I wanted to let my parents know that I was okay.
" Hey." I heard a voice from beside me say. It was Erica. I tried to speak, but I couldn't.
" It's okay. Just go back to sleep." Erica said. She held my hand. I relaxed a little bit. If Erica is here, then I'm good. I'm safe. I stopped trying, and let the tiredness take control. I let my mind wander and let go of the worry inside of me.
Then I remembered something. I remembered someone.
I forced my eyes open. The light was blinding. I shielded my eyes with my hand. I looked around frantically.
" What's wrong?" Erica asked. She looked worried. That was a first. My sister is never worried.
I tried to speak, but I couldn't get any words out. My throat burned. But I still tried.
" Aurora relax. Focus on what your going to say first." Erica said calmly. I did what she said. I thought about what I had to say in order to get her to understand what I'm saying.
I took a deep breath, cleared my throat, and said, "Mason."
Erica pointed to a bed beside me. There was a body laying there. I wanted to get up, but I couldn't. I wanted to see if Mason was alright.
" She's fine. She's alive." Erica said. She laid me back onto the bed.
" Go to sleep." She whispered. I closed my eyes again, and let the tiredness consume me.
Okay, first I want to apologize for not updating for like a month. Sorry. I guess that's what happens when you have school.
Second, I have a new story that's already out. It's called A Bird Named Wingy. I'm still working on it. I got the idea while I was in school.
Finally, I finally got the Charlie Thorne book! It's pretty good so far. I won't spoil it for anyone though.
I know this chapter is a little short, but I'll try to make the next one longer. If I have the time with school and all.
Peace ✌️,
MSORAR
