Chapter 4: Out

"Damian" His father said, the minute that he picked up the phone

"Father" Damian said in reply.

"Where are you?" Bruce asked sternly.

"Out in --" Damian began to say, but stopped when he noticed a girl through the store window and instantly hung the phone up.

She was heading towards the door.

Damian stood outside of the sidewalk in a casual position, leaning against the brick wall.

This was unusual behaviour for Damian. He wouldn't act compassionate to family and friends, let alone a girl he seemed to be interested in.

She had chestnut coloured hair with blond highlights. She wore a jumper, jeans, and boots, with a scarf wrapped around her neck (since this was Gotham after all). In other words she wore clothing that wouldn't draw much attention to her. He liked that.

She opened the door and carefully walked out.

"Hey" The girl said, only aiming the question at Damian, not Jon.

"Hi" Damian managed to reply with a remaining straight face.

"Damian, right?" She asked.

"Yeah. How'd you know?" He said, changing to a confused look written across his face.

"You're Bruce Wayne's son" She said with a huge smile. "I'm Olivia West, but you can call me Liv".

They both shock hands, completing ignoring that Jon was standing right beside them.

"Damian? Can we leave now? It's getting dark" Jon asked.

"You can go" Damian said in reply.

"But--" Jon was cut off when Damian and the girl called Olivia walked off together.

Jon didn't know what to do. He didn't even know his way back to Wayne Manor, let alone Gotham City. He was scared. He knew about everything that has ever happened in this City from his dad, and none of it was good.

Eventually, he decided to walk in an unknown direction, hoping he would recognise the way back.

•••

Superman was currently flying over the city. He didn't have any idea of where he should attempt to look, so he was just flying above, probably looking like an idiot.

'Wow! This city looks really pretty at nighttime' Clark thought to himself just as he noticed a young boy, all alone, walking on the sidewalk.

His 'good boy' personality told him to help the boy find his way to wherever he was heading to.

"Can I help you find your way home?" Superman politely asked.

The boy turned around so that he was facing the older man. "Dad!" The boy instantly said before he jumped straight in for a hug. It was young Jonathan!

"Jon? Why are you alone? Where's Damian?" Superman asks his son.

As Jon was about to answer four familiar faces approached them from different angles.

Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood and Red Robin all saw Superman swoop down to the ground and decided that they would follow after him. (Hehe, does anyone else accidentally type 'Bagman' instead of 'Batman'?)

Then Jon began to explain.

"The two of us were walking down the street when Damian starting acting different. That was when a girl exited the stores doors and her and Damian started talking like they've known each other for a while, but the didn't because they exchanged names. I then asked if we could leave but he walked away with the 'girl'" Jon explained.

"Did you catch the girls name?" Batman asked in his gruff voice.

"Um...I think it was Olivia... west" Jon answered.

•••
(Back at the Bat Cave, with everyone, apart from Dami)

"Olivia West, right?" Bruce confirmed.

"Yes" Jon acknowledged.

Bruce typed in the name he had been told into the Bat Computer.

No search results found for Olivia West.

"Are you sure that was the name?" Bruce asked again.

"I'm positive"

Bruce typed it in again.

No search results found for Olivia West.

"I don't like the looks of this" Bruce told everyone. This girl already seemed dodgy to him, even though he hasn't met her yet.

"Why's that?" Clark asked.

"Nothing to showing up after I type her name. It's almost like she doesn't exist" Bruce said answering the question which was placed before him.

•••

Damian and Olivia were sitting in an alley way just talking and getting to know each other.

"Where do you live then?" Damian asked as they shifted into a more fitting position.

"On the other side of the city. My mums working so I don't usually go home until later" She explained.

"What about your father?" Damian asked, in his usual formal manner.

"I never knew him. I don't know if he's alive or dead" She said staring into the distance.

Damian didn't know what to say after this. He was really that good at heart-felt moments.

"I should be leaving now" Damian said after a few seconds of silence.

"Okay. I hope I'll be able to see you again. Here, have this" she said handing him a piece of paper which had a number written down on it.

•••

Damian stepped inside the doors of Wayne Manor and instantly headed up the stairs to avoid any conversation with any member of his family.

He silently opened the door to his room and flicked the light on before closing his door behind him.

"Where were you?" A voice said. It was Bruce.

"Out" Damian answered shortly.

"Who's the girl?" He asked another question. He was trying to get more than a one worded answer.

"How do you know about her?" Damian answered the question with a question.

Bruce gave Damian the look meaning 'Cuz I'm Batman'.

Both of them know they wouldn't any proper answers so Bruce actually gave up and left. It would only mean he would try even harder the next day.

945 words! I'm writing more each time!

Who's read Super Sons #2? It's amazing! I'm in love with this series! I wish DC would publish them more often than once a month though.💘
