CHAPTER TWELVE

"After the events that had transpired last night due to the akumatision of a student at Jorden State High School-"

"Andy," Mr Labonair, Andy's homeroom teacher whispered, drawing Andy, Benji, Quartz and Aiden's attention away from the school prefect Maali ah Kit.

Aiden hasn't yet gotten the chance to meet Andrea Davis but after last night he had started paying quite a bit of attention to the younger girl, not wanting to do another all-nighter fighting.

"Come," Benji looked at Andy askingly, she shrugged. She stood up before straightening her school skirt and carefully walked between her home class and 10B.

"What is it, sir?" Andy whispered as they walked slightly away from the rest of her class.

"I just wanted to check if you were okay, and to know if you think you would need to attend guidance counselling."

One of the cons of her plan, concerning the ones that are close to her. "I'm fine, I just was missing him a lot more yesterday."

Mr Labonair smiled fondly, "I miss him too," his smile turned into a sorrowful frown, "It's okay to miss him, Andy, it's also okay to talk about your pain, you don't need to be strong, you're still just fifteen."

Andy knew that Mr Labonair and her father were more than just co-workers, during Mr Labonair's divorce her father had babysat his daughter while Mr L had time to himself, Rosey was five at the time and just recently diagnosed with cancer. Her father never said it but Andy was sure that Mr Labonair and her father were friends. Andy touched the pocket on her shirt, she doesn't wear the miraculous but when she does that's where she puts it, Andy suddenly felt a pit of guilt within her, she can't feel sad after everything she hopes to achieve. "I'm fine Mr Labonair, I don't need therapy."

He sighed, "You're a smart girl Andrea," she snorted, knowing her grades say that's not true, "It's true, you may not be academically smart but you are very bright, your father saw it too. I trust you to know what is best for you."

"Can I sit back down?"

"Assembly is ending now, why don't you just make your way to class?"

Andy glanced at Benji who was happily talking to Quartz, her eyes caught focus on a necklace around his neck. "That's new," she whispered to herself, it was gold with a little charm at the bottom of it, Andy found it odd since that is something his foster parents would not buy for him and it isn't something he would buy for himself since he puts all of his money away for his university tuition. I'll just ask him about it later, she told herself.

Involuntary therapy, what a joke. Lee had spent a whole fifteen minutes in assembly listening to Maali ah Kit explain to the school how due to the last akuma battle the school will be doing involuntary therapy for anyone who the teachers think is at risk of being akumatised.

After assembly Lee had maths, during the first five minutes of the class he was pulled outside by Mr Pi, his teacher explained to him how he had to attend guidance counselling now, great! This is what Lee gets for doing an all-nighter saving Sydney.

Lee didn't need anyone to show him where the guidance counsellors office is, he spent a lot of time here last year after his mother died, Lee had grown so familiar with Uncle Tau he was devastated when he left the school and this new guidance counsellor replaced him. April Gracie, twenty-three years old, freshly out of university, the youngest staff member in the whole school, Lee had become a little obsessed.

"You can come in," Lee opened the door as he saw Miss Gracie, short, blonde hair, icy blue eyes, a basic outfit that matched her look. "I can always tell when someone is there."

"Okay..."

"Sit down," Lee looked around the room, it had been redecorated since Lee's session with Uncle Tau. "Do you know why you're here?"

Lee stopped looking around the room and turned all of his attention to Miss Gracie, still annoyed at Ladybeetle and Souris, he was a lot angrier and on edge, "Because one of my teachers think I'm 'unstable' trust me I'm not, so I'm gonna go," he walked closer to the door, ignoring her request for him to sit down.

"Not one of your teachers, me."

He turned away from the door and to her faster than lightning, lightning being almost as deadly as his glare, "What?"

"A lot of the students I have talked to say you bully them, is this true?"

Lee rolled his eyes, "They're a bunch of sooks."

"Cecilee, sit down."

"It's Lee."

"My mistake, thank you for correcting me, one of your teachers told me that you are genderfluid, what are you're preferred pronouns?"

Lee shifted his position, "She/her around family, He/him to most people." Lee sat down, he figured that they are going to be here for a while.

"Any reason why you prefer feminine pronouns at home?" Miss Gracie asked as she pulled out a notepad, Lee's disgust was barely hidden.

"That's just what I feel comfortable with."

She nodded as Lee watched her judgmentally write something down, "Do you have any friends? I'm aware that you were friends with Aja Laghari but then in your eighth year you broke her nose, do you mind explaining what that was about?" He chuckled as he thought about the day he cut ties with Aja, that was a day he does not regret, he would punch her in the face a hundred times again even if it meant another two weeks of school suspension, honestly, the suspension was pretty good too, it gave him more time to spend with his mum. "Lee, an attack on another student is not a laughing matter."

"It is if she's a bitch," his expression hardened, "She made a comment about my mum, saying that if I'm lucky I might become even popular than her with the tragedy."

"Aja Laghari has been the topic in a lot of sessions," Miss Gracie muttered to herself. "Lee, that's terrible, she had no right to say that but you could have reported her, you didn't have to respond with violence.

"I'll be sure to remind my fourteen-year-old self that thanks," he said sarcastically. "Even if I did report her, the school wouldn't have cared, have they ever got Aja Laghari in trouble for anything she has done? No, because her mother is the deputy lord mayor," he rolled his eyes at the excessive title.

Miss Gracie wrote something down and then flipped the page, Lee knew what that meant.

"I understand when it feels like your school doesn't care, when I was in High School I was bullied for my glasses, the boys in my class said it made my face look big, I told my teachers by they did nothing, one of them even agreed with the boys in my class and said I should wear eye contacts. It made me feel helpless, I got so close to punching one of them once and it scared me, so I started putting my anger elsewhere, do you have any hobbies?"

Maybe she wasn't about to bring up his home life, usually with Uncle Tau whenever he flipped a page the topic of his home life came up. Lee opened up as he realised Miss April might not be too bad. "Photography, painting, I like dying my hair."

"So you're an artist? The creative arts is a healthy way to express yourself in a way that will not hurt yourself or others." She wrote down something before passing it to Lee, "I want you to make a collage or paint me a picture, create something the next time you get angry and show it to me our next session."

"Next session?" He asked.

She pointed to the note, 'every tuesday, nine-thirty.'

"You're a kind kid Lee, I want to help you let other people see it."
