I was assigned to stick near Gethen during the attack, which was boring. I watched as an ogre grabbed my sister out of the cave and a goblin chased after them. Soon the rest of the gang crawled out of the cave, some were attacked by the other members while the rest went after my sister. 

I then realized then that Gethen had taken off already without me and I groaned. "That ass." I mumbled under my breath and took off to look for him. I was tackled to the ground by someone and when I looked up I met eyes with teal ones. I doubled but as my old crush on Biana hit me.  Lucky me though, it wasn't her. It was Fitz. "I'm so not in the mood." I mumbled as I swiftly kicked my knee up and hit him in his crotch area. He fell over groaning as I got up spat at him saying my signature 'asshole' and left. 

I could barely see anything by now, everything was blurry with the snow. I was trying to track everyone by sound but the wind kept whipping everywhere and scrambling the sounds. Finally I found the three people I was supposed to be working with in a group. Sophie was huddled against the edge of the mountain with the three figures surrounding her. I ran over and stood next to Gethen. 

"Surrender, Sophie, and no else has to die." One of the two men I don't care to learn the names of said. Sophie whipped around to see us. The others had melders while I just stood there. Suddenly Gethen shot Sophie causing her to fall to the ground. One of the guys yelled at him something about going against orders . 

"She was trying to inflict. Besides, all he said was to bring her in alive. He didn't say anything about untouched." Gethen seriously just asks for me to punch him doesn't he? He then walked to the edge and peered over. "Looks like we don't have to worry about her bodyguard." He said laughing. The other two joined him. 

"Lets go." One of the two men i don't know said crouching down in front of Sophie. "Think She's stunned enough?" 

"Might as well be safe." Gethen said shooting Sophie again. Ok. He went up a few more pegs on the murder list. But will I stop him? Fuck no, I have a cover to uphold. 

"That should do it." The third figure said making me jump. Shit. It was Gisela mimicking her husband's voice. 

"What about the boy?" The one leaning over Sophie asked. 

"Which one? The Vacker one? He'd only be an asset to the girl." 

"No— the boy who led us here. He can't be allowed to go home." ..... why? 

"Why?" Two years apart and my boy Keefe can still read my mind. Keefe walked into our view with Fitz right behind him, a melder raised at the guy leaning over Sophie. "Afraid I'll tell Mom?" Oh this poor boy. 

Gisela laughed a cruel laugh that made even me shiver. "Trust me, your mother is not my concern." By the look on his face, I could tell Keefe finally realized who he thought the voice belonged to. 

"Is this really what you do?" He choked on his words as he pointed at Sophie. "Is that the Sencen legacy?" 

"No, it's a necessary sacrifice for a larger plan." 

"I hate you!" Keefe yelled throwing a chunk of ice at Gisela who just side stepped it. 

"You hate, only because you do not understand." Gisela said stomping her feet to get the snow off. "I am building you a better world. Someday you'll thank me." 

"I will never thank you," Keefe said taking a step away. "I will never speak to you again." ...... that's the best you can come up with? Even the classic and overly used 'I'll kill you you' is better than that. Lets just skip ahead cause this is honestly boring. 

Keefe threw a chunk of ice at Gethen hitting him in the arm causing him to drop the melder. Gethen went to get it back when he was shot by Fitz. I grabbed the melder before he could though. Fitz threw his melder to Keefe then went to tackle me. I side stepped and he face planted the snow. He was about to get up when I put my foot on his back and pointed the melder at him. 

"NOW!" Keefe suddenly shouted and I was tackled to the ground. Fitz grabbed my melder and shot that one random guy that was leaning over Sophie before. Then as soon as Biana— sweet, hot, innocent Biana who pinned me to the ground and I should not be blushing—got off me he shot me with the melder as well. Keefe had started a fight with Gisela as well. I waited till after Biana snapped Sophie out of the effects of the melder to tackle her. How you ask? I built a tolerance to melders back when I was a prisoner, lets leave it at that. 

"Hey kids!" I said crouching behind them. 

"Ahh!" Biana jumped away pulling Sophie with her. "H-how are you moving?!" I stood up and shrugged with my hands in my pockets. I then looked toward where the shouting was coming from. "What do you mean you don't know!" Biana screamed. 

"You shot mean and I'm still in pain, ok? I just know how to move because I have a tolerance. Get shot enough and it happens. " I mumbled the last part so they couldn't hear. I then started walking toward the fight, but stopped when I realized something. "Aren't you coming?" I said then reached out and grabbed the brunette trying to sneak up behind me by the neck. He dropped the melder and started scratching at my hand but I didn't budge, instead throwing him toward the two girls. "Coming from behind is smart kid, but you need to make sure you're quiet. You were loud, I heard you breathing and footsteps." 

"Did she just teach us something?" 

"Over the snow?! How!?" I grinned. 

"Didn't take years of training for nothing." More like a year and half and still in training but oh well, they don't need to know. "Now lets go. You want to go back up your friend and I have not a single fucking clue what to do." I said walking toward the fight between mother and son. 

"Well she's honest." One of them mumbled but they still followed. At some point I lost them in the snow, or maybe they lost me. That's when I finally reached them and found everyone. Oh so they got here first..... whatever. I saw that Gisela's hood was thrown off and they were gaping. 

"Cats out of the bag for you then huh?" I said walking up behind her. 

"Indeed." She smirked. Wait did she just understand my human reference? YES! Told ya Gethen, do it enough and people will start to understand. 

"What? Th-that was a human reference." Sophie said eyes wide. 

......shit.
