Chapter 23

Day 21:

"Pacifica you never told me how your date went." Gideon said, and Pacifica looked up from the Journal that she might have to give up.

"It was fine." Pacifica sighed, "we didn't talk much, we just sort of let it all sink in."

"Let what sink in?" Gideon questioned.

"The fact that we can be a couple in silence?" Pacifica asked. "I don't know. But it was peaceful."

"Sounds kind of nice." Gideon rolled his eyes. "Paz you do you, and I'll be happy."

Pacifica laughed, "thanks Gideon, that's real sweet of you, but there isn't anything going on between me and Dipper."

"Oh come on Paz, you should see the way he looks at you." When Gideon said that, Pacifica instantly remembered a couple days earlier when she asked Dipper if he could hang out with her. His face looked happy but his eyes were dull and empty. And then on the first day, he said he still had time left. And the fact that he said he met his friend in the hospital, that was all a red flag, but maybe he just spent some time at the hospital because he actually knew the girl from before? "Uh....Paz?" Gideon asked waving a hand in front of Pacifica's face.

"What?!" Pacifica asked, jumping from her thoughts.

"So is there something going on between you and Dipper?" Gideon asked.

"Of course not." Pacifica sighed.

Day 22:

Dipper decided to spend his day in bed, because he felt exhausted with everything that was going on. He yawned and closed his eyes, thinking about what would happen.

So many days have passed, how much longer do I have? What will happen to me? Will I die peacefully, or will it hurt?

Dipper sighed and looked at his calender and saw that it was almost the end of July. In fact, it was July twenty second. He wondered what his sister was thinking, he knew that she would be devastated, but she never said it or showed it in front of him. Mabel always tried to be the strong one. But only Dipper could see through her tough exterior. Dipper sighed and laid back down thinking about what was to come. Dipper wondered if Pacifica enjoyed her time with him, he hoped that she did because he enjoyed it so much. And he finally closed his eyes.

Day 23:

Pacifica hummed to herself as she walked to the park, where she hoped she would either get some peace and quiet, or see Dipper. Pacifica hadn't fallen for Dipper, but she guessed that she wanted to see how things would work. The wind blowed and Pacifica looked around, realizing it was cold for July. She looked up and sighed. The sun was still shining, but it felt more like fall than summer. She walked over to the park and realized that Dipper wasn't here. "Huh, odd." She walked around the park and continued to hum to herself, wondering where Dipper could be.

"Hey Paz,"

Pacifica looked up, but it was only Gideon. "Oh," she said, sounding a little disappointed, "hey Gideon."

"Whatcha doing here?" He asked, looking at Pacifica, then at his shoes, the back to Pacifica, then back to his shoes.

Pacifica shrugged, "just found it peaceful that's all."

Where was Dipper?

Day 24:

"Dipper wake up," Mabel's voice said. She chuckled and shook her head. "Come on, Dipper wake up."

Dipper groaned and sat up. "What time is it?" He asked, looking around for his clock, but he felt fuzzy and disoriented.

"It's almost nine thirty." Mabel explained shaking her head, "honestly Dipper you've slept for way to long."

"How long?" He asked, getting up frantically, but a huge headache hit him.

"A day and a half?" Mabel said, although it sounded more like a question than an answer, but Dipper didn't care.

"I've gotta go!" He said, quickly walking to his closet, to choose an outfit.

"Go?" Mabel echoed, walking to the door, "go where?"

"Visit." He replied as he quickly grabbed a shirt.

"Um, where?" Mabel asked.

Dipper quickly put on his new shirt and fixed his hair quickly. "Showtime." He mumbled as he walked out of the room.

Day 25:

Pacifica bit her lip and glanced around the room. The Mystery Shack was getting set up for the party tonight. Gideon was in charge of the decorations whereas Robbie was in charge of the ticket stand and Deuce was the Dj. It was all going well, and she was surprised on how long it was that she hadn't seen Dipper. About five days. Pacifica glanced around the dance floor and saw all of her friends, and Gideon's friends. She thought about hanging out with Robbie, but she knew that he'd tease her about liking Dipper. Which she didn't. Pacifica's eyes widened as she realized that Mabel was here. Pacifica quickly walked over to where Mabel was standing. "Hey Mabel." Pacifica said.

"Oh, you're that girl that hit my brother with a golf cart!" Mabel smiled sickly.

"Heh, right," Pacifica mumbled.

"Hope you know that he's totally not interested in you." Mabel looked at her nails.

"W-what?" Pacifica felt a whole new feeling. "He doesn't?"

"Mhm." Mabel didn't even look up.

"Oh...." Pacifica sighed and, "I uh, have to go outside."

Mabel smirked.

Pacifica sat on the roof and looked at the stars. "I should have known!"

"Should have known what?"

Pacifica looked up and saw Dipper next to her. "What are you doing here? I thought you didn't want anything to do with me."

"Who told you that?" Dipper scoffed.

"Mabel."

Dipper burst into a fit of laughter, "and you believed her?"

"....well...I did." Pacifica realized how stupid it sounded.

"Can I see you again?" He finally asked.

"When?" Pacifica raised a brow.

"I can do, four days from now." Dipper tilted his head to the side.

"Done." Pacifica smiled.

Day  26:

Dipper paced around his room thinking about his date with Pacifica. "William?" He called.

"Yes sir?" William quickly walked into his master's room. "Do you need anything?"

"What would you wear for a date?" Dipper asked.

"Uh...depends." William said, "is it casual? Or no?"

"Well I guess it's casual." Dipper murmured. "Thanks Will."

"You're welcome, sir." William walked out of the room and realized how much he'd miss Dipper when he passed.

***

Day 27:

Pacifica thought about her 'not date' with Dipper Gleeful. She was definitely not falling for him, he was just a friend. "Gideon? If you go hang out with someone who is the opposite gender of you, does it count as a date?"

"Uh.....not entirely?" Gideon called. "Uh, why?"

"I'm hanging out with a male friend of mine." Pacifica explained, and it wasn't exactly a lie.

"Oh that's nice," he murmured, "who?"

"Don't be so nosy, Gideon." Pacifica chided. "He's just a friend I met here."

"Coolio." Gideon said, "wanna watch tv?"

"You know it." Pacifica chuckled and walked into the living room.

Day 28:

"It's not a 'date' date." Dipper explained, as he pushed Kaori on the swings. "It's more of a.....not date?"

"Well that makes no sense." Kaori shook her head, her blonde hair tumbling forward. "It's obvious that she likes you, Dipper."

"How so?" Dipper raised a brow.

"She acts like she wants to avoid you, but she knows that she likes you, she just doesn't want to admit it." Kaori explained, smiling up at Dipper. "She'll come through in the end."

"You're a smart little six year old." Dipper nodded.

"I was around a ton of old people in the hospital, I've learned a lot!" She laughed a giddy laugh.

"Heh, I'll bet." Dipper smiled down at her. "You know, Kaori, I'm glad I met you."

"Aw, don't be mushy!" Kaori hopped off the swing and ran to the slide.

"I'm serious," Dipper chuckled and walked after her, "what are the odds?"

"Hmm," Kaori said as she climbed the stairs to the slide. "I don't know."

"So, Kaori, you really think she's interested in me?" Dipper asked.

Kaori peeked her head out of the slide, "yes." She said, "I most certainly do."

***

Day 29:

"Tomorrow?" Gideon asked. "You are hanging out tomorrow?"

"Uh-huh." Pacifica murmured, looking out the window. "What are your plans for tomorrow?"

"My plans are to hang with Robbie and blow up hit dogs in the microwave with Deuce!" Gideon chirped happily. "It'll be so much fun!"

"Right." Pacifica rolled her eyes. They always wanted to blow up things in the microwave. They even tried to blow up a pair of Pacifica's shoes! "Just don't blow up anything of mine!" She ran upstairs to her room to figure out what to wear.

Later than evening, Pacifica, Robbie, Gideon and Deuce were watching tv in the living room, laughing at the stupid cartoons. "I'll never understand how that cat always loses to the mouse." Robbie said, shaking his head at the Tom and Jerry episode that just ended.

***

Day 30:

Pacifica ran to meet up with Dipper. "You came after all." Dipper said, he seemed a little surprised.

"But this is not falling for you." Pacifica reminded him. "So where are we going?"

"I don't know," Dipper shrugged, "wherever you want to."

Together they walked the streets of Reverse Falls, laughing at little comments. "I'm serious, this town is bonkers." Pacifica laughed. "Wax statues came to life!"

"That's bizarre." Dipper chuckled. "I've never experienced that before."

"Really?" Pacifica asked.

"Honestly." Dipper shook his head, but he felt disoriented. He blinked a few times and his vision clouded.

"Dipper? You alright?" Pacifica asked, turning to face him.

"Me? Yeah! Of course I am." Dipper gave a fake smile before turning away from Pacifica. He closed his eyes and felt his world, fade to black.
