* * *

It was early morning when Hattie woke up, her back was stiff and her neck ached but other than that everything seemed okay. Perhaps next time she would not talk Fred out of sleeping in the bed and her on the armchair beside it. He was not that hard to convince especially when she reminded him that he was taking time out of his rest to stay with her when he would have to get up early for work the next day. Needless to say, Hattie's sleep was far from comfortable unlike Fred's, who slept soundly in her bed.

Hattie stretched, a yawn tumbling from her lips as she untucked her legs from beneath her and stood up her legs nearly giving way. She glanced at the time which read 6:30 am and decided to wake Fred up. Hattie nudged him lightly and he grumbled.

"Freddie come on!" She exclaimed, nudging him some more, "It's time to get up!"

Fred went to push her away, or so Hattie thought, he took hold of her waist and pulled her down, cuddling her. "Sleep, little missus." He told her, his voice hoarse and deep.

Hattie giggled and nuzzled into Fred, "You have work, Freddie, plus Ron will be here soon!"

Fred sighed and sat up with Hattie on his lap. "Why do you have to be right? I love working in the shop, it's brilliant but I really wanted a lie in."

Hattie hit his shoulder, "You're lazy!"

Fred rolled his eyes and laid his head on his shoulder, "It'll be three weeks until it's my turn to stay with you again. Until then I will be working my bum off in the shop."

Hattie bit her lip, "Yeah about that, I might ask Doctor Cody if it's okay that nobody stays overnight. You guys need breaks, I'm fine on my own. Well, I'm not really on my own there are other people here. Plus, Charlie is always here, he needs to go to work soon."

"Whoa, what happened to Mrs I need Charlie 24/7?"

Hattie climbed off of Fred and sat back on the armchair bringing her knees to her chest. "I'm holding him back. He needs to be with Jojeen, Winnie and Gilbert along with all of the other dragons. Not with me."

Fred shook his head, "Charlie adores you and everyone understands why he is here with you rather than in Romania. Hat, you have scared us too many times and one of the times he was in Romania when you were here. He didn't know anything until he came home. He's scared that'll happen again-"

"But it won't. I'm getting better. Slowly but I really am this time!" Hattie cut him off, her head resting on her knees.

"And we know that, Hattie. But that doesn't diminish fear. None of us are taking things for granted. Not again. We thought you had died. You were missing for two years, Hattie! He's scared. We all are. You can't blame him for doing so and he won't go away anytime soon."

Hattie remained quiet as Fred went off to the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead. She leaned her head against the back fo the armchair just as Doctor Cody entered her room. "Mornin' Hattie, what are you doing in that chair?"

Hattie shrugged as the toilet flushed, Fred returning. "Right, I'm off, Hattie, see you soon, okay?" He kissed her head and left the hospital room.

Doctor Cody patted the bed and Hattie sluggishly moved from the chair. Leaning against the headboard, the pillow behind her head, she could still smell Fred's aftershave. Doctor Cody began to unwrap her bandages. "They look better today, you're making really good progress!" He smiled applying some cool cream to her wrists gently, massaging it in.

Hattie rolled her eyes, "Clearly I'm not."

Doctor Cody's eyebrows furrowed as he continued to sort out her cuts, "What do you mean? Of course you are!"

Hattie looked at his face then back at her arms, the cuts which haunted her and filled her head with all of the bad things. "If I am getting better than why is everyone scared? Why do they think I'm going to do bad things again? Is it because of this?" She held up her left wrist wear the dark mark lay embossed over her scars. "Is it because I lied to them? Do they not want me to get better?"

The man finished wrapping her bandages and perched on the bed facing the young girl. "It's normal for them to feel that way. They do not think that you will relapse, nor do I, it's just a natural feeling that any normal person gets. Now, is there anything you want to do today?"

Hattie thought for a moment, "Maybe go to the library?"

"Okay then, let's go."

Doctor Cody led Hattie out of her room, leading her down the corridor and down some flights of stairs. The hospital was far from quiet, each ward got louder or quieter, it was never the same. Doctors, Nurses and other such people ran back and forth, come crying, some smiling, some going home, some going into surgery. The hospital never was the same all around something new, something old. It never stayed the same. Similar to Hogwarts. The staircases never stayed the same, teachers came and went, much the same with students.

Upon entering the library, Hattie headed straight for the glass box that held some artefacts inside. The hospital's library dubbed as a museum. It held old toys and books that past patients and doctors owned or donated. It warmed Hattie to know that so many people had been through this care and left a mark on the hospital.

"You like that bear?" Doctor Cody pointed at what Hattie was staring at. A small teddy bear, with patches on its front and its arm. One of its eyes had been replaced by a black button.

"It's cute..."

Doctor Cody chuckled, "Penny for your thoughts?" He had noticed that she was daydreaming.

Hattie placed her hands on the glass right above a book that was next to the teddy, it was an old book about Hogwarts. "What am I going to do about school? I...I...I haven't done my O.W.Ls let alone my N.E.W.Ts. I...I...I can't do anything without them!" The girl began to panic and the doctor had to place his hands on her shoulders.

"Hey, hey, hey! Calm down, it'll be okay. We'll sort that, don't worry about it right now. C'mon Hattie, breathe! In, out!" She breathed raggedly as she panicked more and more over the littlest of things. Then her eyes rolled back and her legs gave way. Thankfully Doctor Cody caught her.

Oh Hattie...
