❝In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allah❞
⚜️3rd POV ⚜️
The final exams are around the corner — the college hallways filled with students walking around. You could see the stress and frustration of each one of their faces. It was nothing new. Some Professors told them they would have exams, and others either were free or had to do some paper or speech. Nobody knows what to study first. If they consider their Psychology class, they will have less time for Math.
Finals are hell.
Down by the bright red hall, there was an empty room filled with chairs and a small desk. It was around noon. Scattering voices filled the red hallway. Mostly could be heard about finals, whats the tests are on or whatnot. Anyone who walks in this red hallway would think these are the best student in the world. As a matter of fact, these are the students who pull an all-nighter and study the ten pages of the study guide the night before the exam.
One specific voice spoke in the empty classroom, practicing a speech for the upcoming final exam, "Women who are innocent to see this excuse of an apology, thought umm..."
"Oh, come on! This is stupid and pointless," young 27 years old Amal Qadira slammed the presentation packet on the brown wooden table. For the past weeks, she has been trying to practice this speech. She can't take any chance of losing simple points, like saying umm or ah. If she did, then her 80% would go down to a C. There wasn't any possibility for her to receive another C this semester.
Receiving another C wasn't her fault. She has been doing three jobs for the past month. It took all the energy out of her; she couldn't study after her 8-hour shift on the three positions.
"One more time. Come, one girl. You got this," she mumbled, encouraging herself.
She took a deep breath before starting on her speech, "Women who are innocent see this excuse of an apology, though, quickly accept the apology and forgives their partner. However, women who do understand no matter how many times he apologizes, it will happen again."
Clap! Clap! Clap!
"Well done, Amal. That was a good ending," a manly voice spoke from the doorway of the room.
She looked at the owner of the voice before narrowing her eyes, "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Nothing much. Just want to see my best Agent," he smiled, walking up to her.
"Not anymore," she spoke, packing her bag.
Her first job was being an FBI Agent; Lord, did she love that job. However, some situations took place, and she had to leave the job. Especially when her mother found out about her undercover job, she wasn't very fond of the idea of her daughter being in danger every second of her life.
"You still are; the team needs you," He dragged a chair in front of him before placing himself on it.
"There is no chance I am going back. Remember your jerk, Boss? He kicked me out of the team for what? Disobeying him?" Amal snapped.
"That's because you put yourself in danger," he argued back.
"Who's side are you on, Xannon," she questioned, placing her backpack on the floor, "that little boy would have been dead if I didn't move in."
"I hate to say it like this, but if God wanted someone to be dead, then they will be. Isn't that what you always said? This time I am sorry to say, but you have gone too far by putting yourself in danger," Xannon explained.
"You are so annoying," she muttered, picking up her backpack as she started to head out, "I am NOT coming back. You can leave."
"Sorry, can't do that. Bosses order," Xannon smiled.
Of course, it was the Boss. We can't always give him what he wants.
"Who is going to stop me? You?" She sarcastically laughed, walking backward, "with your skinny figure? I highly doubt that."
"I have you know that I have gained a lot of muscles for the past months. You don't see it," he flexes his arm.
Laughter left her mouth as she shook her head, "go back to work, Xannon."
"I will lose my job if you don't come with me," he announced aloud.
She stopped herself from walking out the door. Turning around, she raised her eyebrow, not believing Xannon. Yet again, this is the oldest trick in the book that her Ex-boss has. Always threatening people to get whatever he wants.
She closed her eyes and released a big sigh.
"Not my problem. See ya!" She clarified with a heavy heart and waved before walking out of the room.
Amal pulled her backpack strap closer to her. Walking out of the hallway into the main entrance, she hummed a song. She was not going back to the BAU. It was not what she had in mind.
She planned to get a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity and then find a good job that will keep the money coming; she would finally be able to send her mother to a good hospital. On top of that, her sister can get into a top college. Also, Amal can't forget about her brother. He has to go to the Qur'an lesson again; he has stopped going due to the lack of money.
She opened the front door and met with a scene she has been avoiding.
"What the hell?" She muttered, gazed at her surroundings.
