Prom Night
Samriddhi's pov
"Is this our ride?" I asked after seeing the Hardly-Davidson parked in front of my door.
"Yes. If you don't like it, then......"
"No,no,no. It's a perfect black beauty." I cut him off and replied in awe. His bike is black, just like his other cars.
Black is the color of luxury, and I wonder why people don't like it as a skin tone.
"I'm glad you like it." He replied, handing me a helmet.
"How could someone resist this beauty?" I replied. "Do I have to wear this?" I asked, looking at the helmet.
"Of course, sweetheart, safety comes first." He replied.
"But......"
"No buts. Just wear it like a good girl." He cut me, put the helmet on my head by himself, and secured it safely over my head. I scrunched my nose, and he pulled it and said, "That's cute. Now let's go."
"Morning lovebirds. Going somewhere?" Kohli Aunty asked, coming out of her apartment.
"Yup, just going for a long drive," Henry replied.
"Enjoy," she replied, waving to us.
He started the bike, and I sat behind him while he drove. The speed is normal, and I'm sitting at a distance between us, but still, due to inertia, I hit his back.
"You OKAY?" He asked, concerned. "Hold me, then it won't happen." He said, but I didn't move an inch, and then it happened again. So he stopped the bike.
"Why did you stop? I'm fine; it's just..." I stopped blabbering when his hands reached for mine. He held my hands into his, made me hold his front, and made me hug him tightly from behind.
"Just hold me, or you will get yourself hurt." He said, turning his head a little back to me, and I nodded nervously.
But only I know how much chaos is going on inside of me. My heart is beating like it would come out of my ribcage at any moment.
But without saying anything, I hold his t-shirt in my fists and lean onto his back. It's something new in my life, and the feelings are a little messy now. Oh God, I don't know how to express myself. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and enjoyed our ride.
I can see him smiling in the side mirror, and a shy smile also appeared on my face, and he caught me. I hurriedly hid my face behind his back. He increased the speed a little, and I hugged him more tightly.
After riding for some time, he stopped at a cliff. We both get on our feet, and he holds my hand and takes me towards the edge.
Due to fear, I hold his arm in a tight grip with both of my hands.
"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you." He assured me.
"I know," I replied. "The view is amazing from here."
"It looks more beautiful at night." He said.
"Due to the whole city's lighting." I replied, and he hummed, holding me by my waist. I flinched but shrugged it off because he is now my boyfriend. "But it still looks beautiful." I replied, looking at him.
"I know." He said that while looking at me and kissing me on the cheek, which made me blush.
"This is your favorite place, isn't it?" I asked, and he hummed.
"How do you know?" He questioned me back.
"Guess. " I replied meekly.
"Well, that's a pretty guess, I must say. Let's see what else you will guess more about me." He said it in a challenging tone.
At the same time, his curls fell on his face, and he pushed them back, and I'm doomed.
I'm lost in that; his way of pushing back his sexy curls is going to be the death of mine.
He snapped his fingers in front of my face, and I came back to reality.
I cleared my throat and replied, "Ummm, that black is your favorite color."
"Just like yours." He replied immediately. "Well, that's the easiest one. What else?"
Yeah, he is right. That's the easiest one. He had all his cars in black. He mostly wears black, just like today.
He is wearing black jeans, a black leather jacket, and a gray loose t-shirt paired with matching sneakers.
He is looking handsome as always.
"Peace lily is your favorite flower." I replied that, as I remember, the vase in the corner of his office is always adorned with peace lilies.
"Correct. What else?" He asked.
"That we are both nerds." I replied, giggling and getting out of his hold.
"Don't run here; it's dangerous." He said that while holding me back from my backside and embracing me in his strong hold.
"I know you won't let anything happen to me." I replied, leaning onto him.
"Let's go; we have more things to explore." He said it in my ear, and I hummed.
He started the bike and asked me to sit.
"Can't I wear it just for a few minutes? Please." I said, showing him the helmet in my hand.
"Fine." He replied, and he also took off his helmet.
He drives, and I hold him tightly again. My loose hair was falling on my face. I brushed them back and suddenly let my arms hang free from my sides, and I hooted.
I let myself be free for the first time and enjoyed the moment. "It's incredible." I whispered and held him tightly again. He smiled and held my hand in his. "Don't!!!! Just hold the bike." I panicked.
"Nothing is going to happen." He replied, chuckling.
"Then stop, and let's put on our helmets." I said, and he stopped.
Well, of course I can't risk our safety and wore back our helmets.
We enjoyed our long drive singing and giggling, then we passed a carnival.
"What was that?" I asked.
"I think it's a carnival or circus, maybe." He replied, "Wanna go?" He asked, and without waiting for my reply, he turned back.
We reach there, and it's a carnival. With so many stalls and rides, we hung out there for a while.
We explore each stall there, and then there is a shooting stall.
"Wanna play?" he asked.
"I never played before." I replied, unassured.
"Then come; I'll teach you." He said this, pulling me towards the stall. He handed me a gun, and I denied it.
"No, I'm scared."
"Just shoot." He said, and I told the gun, and before the bullet could shoot, an ear-piercing scream left my mouth, and he laughed.
"Don't make fun of me." I compliant.
"OK fine." He said that while standing behind me. "Let me guide you." He said, holding me from behind and setting the aim, then whispered, "Now."
Taking it as a cue, I shot but missed again.
"Now it's our last chance." I gave him the gun and said, "You shoot now."
He takes the gun from my hand and aims at a soft toy section, and with one shot, he wins a bunny.
"Wow!" I exclaimed.
The stall owner gave him the bunny, and he handed me it.
"Bugs bunny for my bunny." He said.
I took Bunny from his hand and said, "Thank you. But you called me a tigress now, bunny?"
"You are both in my eyes." He replied, kissing my cheek, and I blushed. "You always jumped from here to there like a cute little bunny." I giggled. "Want some rides?" he asked.
"No," I replied instantly. I don't like rides they make me nauseous.
"Then let's go and eat something." He said, pulling me towards the exit.
Then we ride towards a restaurant and place our order. We were eating and talking.
"Thank you." I said.
"For what?" he asked, confused.
"For this," I replied, showing him the bugs bunny in my hand.
"Stop saying thanks for everything. It's just a soft toy, and I didn't even buy it for you." He replied casually.
"But you win this for me, and it is a big deal for me." I replied, proudly and he gave me his charming smile.
Then he bent a little and pulled my chair more towards him, and a sudden squeal left my mouth, and I instantly covered it with my palms in embarrassment.
"Henry, what are you doing?" I whispered.
"Sitting next to my cute, extraordinary, and loving girlfriend. Is it something bad?" He replied, looking straight into my eyes, and I blushed and shook my head.
"Such a cute couple." The middle-aged owner complimented us. "It's cute how you two even wear matching clothes." She said that, and I looked at us and realized that I didn't notice that we were color coordinated. All day long, I didn't even notice. I'm also wearing black skinny jeans with a black t-shirt and a black jacket. I know I know all black eww! But I love black.
"Thank you, Ms. I know my girlfriend is the cutest." Henry replied, smiling.
"It's just a coincidence." I said to the lady, blushing.
"And that's the romantic one." Henry said, and the lady awwed us and left. "You look more beautiful when you are blushing." He whispered in my ear, his breath fanning in my ear that hitched my breath in my throat.
"Let me eat." I tried to change the topic.
After lunch, we headed back to the city. By now, it's getting dark. Our last stop is James's penthouse.
"What is this place?" I asked, confused.
"It's James's penthouse." He replied, holding my hand.
"Why are we here?" I asked nervously.
"Why are you always behaving nervously around James?" He asked, and honestly, I'm not stunned because this man knows me way better than I know myself.
"He is a little scary...."
And he laughed, throwing back his head. Without even letting me complete my sentence.
"Let me complete, at least. I mean, not scary, but he has a little intimidating aura. I'm not scared of him. It's just you don't understand." I said that while trying to defend myself.
Then the elevator door opened with a ding, and out of nowhere, Richard climbed on me. But instantly Henry pulled him back by holding his collar from behind.
"Behave," Henry said, warning him.
"Shut up! She is my sister before your girlfriend." Richard replied, hugging me back, and I giggled.
"He is right, and you have no right to talk to my baby brother like this." I said, tapping Richard's shoulder.
"Baby brother????" Henry asked in disbelief, and we both burst out laughing, and we entered inside.
To my utter surprise, Hannah and Nimmi Dii are also here. Anna came forward and welcomed me with a hug, which I returned.
"I'm so happy for you." Anna said.
"Thank you," I replied.
"Congratulations." James said, coming towards me.
"For what?" I asked hesitantly.
"For your new boyfriend." James replied, looking toward Henry. I didn't reply, but Henry said it instantly.
"Stop bothering her. She is already scared of you." Henry spoke to James in a teasing tone, but my breath hitched in my throat. I looked at him with wide eyes.
And James looked at me amusingly and asked, "Really????" And I shake my head in no instantly like a child.
But Richard jumped in. "She knew that you are a cold-blooded vampire with no heart, feelings, or humanity." He said it mockingly, and I'm feeling like I'm doomed.
"You really think of me like that?" James asked me, and I constantly shook my head.
He took a step forward and asked me out of nowhere, "What is your blood group?"
"O positive," I replied, shuddering.
"Then you should be scared of me. It's my favorite flavor." James said with a serious face, and while gulping, I looked at Henry.
But seeing me actually scared, James burst out laughing. I'm shocked, but at the same time, I saw him laughing for the first time. "Oh, Christ," he said, laughing, "she is actually really sweet."
All three brothers are laughing, and I'm standing there dumbfounded.
"That's enough. Stop bothering her." Anna came to rescue me and take me with her.
"Don't mind them. They are like this when they are all together. For the world, they are serious, but for family, they have their vulnerable side." Anna said to me:.
"It's OK I don't mind." I replied, smiling.
"You changed our Henry very much, and don't worry; when you know the rest of us, you will get used to us." Anna replied.
"I like them together. They love each other so much and have each other's backs always, no matter what." I replied, looking at the laughing and talking figures of all three brothers. "But I don't understand why they are always ready to pull each other's leg."
"That's their way of showing love." Anna replied, smiling.
"Why are we all here?" I asked.
"Oh, it's just that Nenna got discharged from the hospital, and we wanted to share our wedding date with you guys." Anna replied.
"You guys finalize the date?" I asked.
"Yeah, we decided on a fall wedding, so we agreed on October 25." Anna replied.
"Oh, that's awesome." I replied.
Then Anna excuses herself for seeing the preparation of dinner, and Richard is busy with Hannah and Nimmi Dii.
James is on a phone call, and my boyfriend is sitting alone at the bar counter. So I go to him.
"Why did you say that in front of James?" I asked in a hushed voice.
"What? That you are scared of him?" He asked, holding me by my waist, and I slapped his hand.
"What are you doing? Everyone is here." I said, taking a step back.
"Are you done scolding my brother?" I heard a deep voice from behind, and I turned, gulping. It James.
"No. I was not." I replied, stammering.
"Really? But I thought otherwise." James replied, and I looked back at Henry, pleading with my eyes.
But all he is doing is smiling. So I turned, looked down at my feet, and shook my head.
"I didn't know that you don't like my humor, so I'll not repeat it." James replied, and I swiftly looked at him.
"No, it's not like that." I replied meekly with guilt. For what? I don't know. "It's just, um, you are older than me, and that scaring is just out of respect." I said that while fighting with my fingers. "From the culture and family I came from there elders always have a respectful place and it was out of respect." I said genuinely.
And he put his hand over my head in a brotherly manner and said, "I'm happy for him that you chose him because I don't think he deserves a pure soul like yours." I smiled a little after listening to his words, and he said before leaving, "Welcome to our family."
After he left, Henry hugged me from behind, and I flinched again.
"Just relax, tigress, it's me." He soothingly said to me:.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I'm not used to it." I replied, and he kissed my head.
"It's OK. You will get used to it." He replied, and we all had dinner together, and after that, I left with Hannah and Nimmi Dii.
I like James's brotherly vibe. He is strict but also has a good heart.
And for my boyfriend. Oh, God. He is a Greek God.
The most handsome and eligible batchelor in town is now my boyfriend. I'm happy and grateful to God for sending him into my life.
In just two days, he has done so much for me that I never even imagined in my life. I'm grateful for that.
The next day is Monday, and he decided to have breakfast together before our busy routine started. He wants to spend some time together.
And I'm waiting for him in a restaurant when a black Bentley stops in front of the restaurant.
I saw from the window and stepped out my handsome boyfriend in his expensive Armani suit.
And the bypassers are looking at him, but the Greek God is not even paying attention to anyone.
He came inside, and my back was facing the door, but his expensive cologne was screaming his arrival.
I hate perfumes and don't even use them. They makee nauseous, but his perfume is becoming an addiction of mine. That's not strong to give me headache but it's addictive.
This man's presence is always screaming luxury from head to toe, and I wonder why I never noticed not even his car collection or his features, which I started noticing after he became my boyfriend, and one insecurity always stays in the corner of my head. Do I deserve him?
My chain of thoughts was interrupted by him.
"Good morning, tigress." He said, kissing my cheek.
"Good morning," I replied, blushing.
We ordered our breakfast and talked about random things, then he suddenly said.
"About the whole week, I can't promise if we meet regularly, but I try my best to wrap up work early and find some time, but this Saturday night, be prepared because it's going to be our official first date." He said that, and I nodded blushing.
The first time I listened to this, it formed a note in the pitch of my stomach.
Then his phone buzzed on the table, and by mistake, I saw his home screen.
"When did you get this?" I asked, looking at my picture on his home screen.
"I have my own ways." He replied, smirking.
"Can I see?" I asked his permission.
"Of course. You don't have to ask." He said that and pushed his phone a little toward me.
I took his phone and saw my picture, which is so beautifully captured with the sunset and my smiling face.
"When did you click this?" I asked, looking at his phone.
"When you were admiring the sunset on the yacht." He replied, and I remembered when he showed me the sunset that day.
"Give it to me." I said, looking at him.
"No, this one is exclusively for me." He replied, taking his phone back.
"Please, Henry." I whined like a child. Well, I am photogenic and how could I miss this beautiful picture of mine?
"No, I have clicked enough pictures for you that day." He replied.
"But this one is more beautiful, natural, and candid. Please." I pleaded again.
"No, this is not for showing the world. It's only for me." He replied with so much love, looking straight into my eyes, and I got his point, so I didn't drag it further.
"You didn't like that?" He asked suddenly.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Your birthday present," he replied.
"Of course I loved it," I replied.
"Then where is it?" he asked.
"Ummmmm." shuddering, I show the watch to him, while pulling it out of my bag. "I always keep it to myself." I replied, showing him.
"Why don't you wear it?" He asked.
"It's too expensive. I don't want to ruin it or lose it." I replied.
He only chuckled, took it from my hand, and put it on my wrist. "I truly trust you that you will never lose it, and as for ruining, don't worry, nothing like this is going to happen." He kissed my knuckles, and I nodded.
After breakfast, we both went to our respective jobs, and we hardly saw each other after that.
I mean, we saw each other after work whenever he found the time; he showed up at my place like always.
It's late at night, and I'm scrolling our pictures together. Which we clicked together when we went for the long drive.
I choose one picture in which he is looking at me and I'm looking at him, and I save this picture on my home screen too.
I don't know, but I want to see him every day, every night, and every moment.
It's Friday evening, and there is a knock on our door. I excitedly open it, hoping it's Henry, but to my disappointment, it's Mr. Smith.
"Good evening, Ms. Samriddhi."
"Good evening, Mr. Smith."
"Boss sends this for you, and I'll pick you up tomorrow evening at sharp 7:30 p.m." He said that while giving me a gift box and left without listening or saying anything else.
I came inside with a box in my hand.
"What is it?" Hannah asked.
"I don't know Henry sent it." I replied.
"Then what are you waiting for? Just open it." Nimmi Dii said excitedly.
And I opened it, and my eyes sparkled after seeing what was inside.
"It's beautiful." Hannah exclaimed, looking at the dress in my hands.
"It is," I replied.
"Henry is planning something special for your first date," Nimmi Dii said.
"He should be after last time." Hannah said, And I'm all lost in the dress; I'm holding in my hands.
The next day comes quickly, and Hannah and Nimmi Dii both take me to the spa. We spent the whole day in the spa, relaxing and taking beauty treatments.
They forcefully do things to me I never did in the spa ever before in my life.
In the evening, they helped me get ready. Thank God, I already have matching heels for the dress.
They applied minimalistic makeup after my protest of not applying makeup.
It's 7 p.m., and I'm ready.
I'm wearing the off-shoulder gown that Henry sent for me, and I let my hair loose with soft curls.
But because of the spa, my hair is already wavy, and I chose little studs like matching diamond earrings, which I gifted myself.
I never wore an off-shoulder dress before, so I wrapped a matching shawl around my shoulders.
Hannah and Nimmi Dii protested, but I didn't listen to them.
Mr. Smith came at 7:30 sharp. He held the door for me, and I was seated in the back seat.
After driving for 20 minutes, the car stopped.
"We are here, Ms. Samriddhi." Mr. Smith annouced, holding the door for me. I stepped out and took off the shawl around my shoulder.
Well, if you wear a dress like this, then you should wear it with confidence.
Mr. Smith showed me the way, and I saw Henry waiting for me at the entrance.
He approached me and took my hand.
"You are looking gorgeous." He complimented while kissing my knuckles.
"Thank you," I replied, looking down at my feet shyly.
Then he takes me inside the luxurious hotel; you can say it by looking at it.
But no one is there besides the staff working there. We walked hand in hand.
Then we entered a hall-like area, which I'm not sure about because the lights are dim here. The only thing we saw was each other.
"Wait for a second. Give me your hand." He takes my hand and puts a corsage on my wrist, matching his boutonniere.
I was looking at it confused, then suddenly the lightning changed.
I looked around in awe and then at Henry. Then my corsage, and then I looked at his boutonniere, then my dress.
I gasped when it finally struck my mind.
"You remember." I asked with moist eyes.
"Of course I do," he replied, holding my hands into his.
"I can't believe this." I whispered in disbelief.
"Believe it or not, tigress, but this is your
PROM NIGHT." He replied, joining our foreheads.
Prom night. He remembered. So tell me guys. Did you like it or not?
