DESCRIPTION

The Bastard of Asgard, that's what she'd always been called. King Odin's bastard daughter, the princess with no claim, the princess who would never be queen, King Odin's lasting mistake, the girl who shouldn't exist. Aldrif Odinsdottir had names hurled at her or whispered about her for her entire life. She'd always known who she was, what she was.

Once, before Aldrif was born, there had been Ten Realms instead of the Nine Realms everyone knew. The Tenth Realm was known as Heven and within it resided the Angels. King Odin employed the Angels to protect Asgard's borders but the Angels eventually turned on Asgard and war sparked between the two species. This war lasted for years until the Queen of the Angels managed to sneak into Asgard. And a year later, the Queen taunted Odin with a baby that she claimed to be his, threatening to kill it. When Odin refused to believe her, the Queen stabbed the baby in the heart before fleeing, leaving the baby she believed to be dead for Odin to collect after cutting Heven off from the other Nine Realms.

But she was not dead and Aldrif would carry the scar over her heart for the rest of her immortal life.

Years later, when her oldest brother is cast out of Asgard and her other brother is proven to be a Jotun, not an Asgardian, and taken as an infant by Odin, Aldrif feels the world around her, tenuous as it had always been for her, crumbling to pieces. While Thor returns to Asgard changed for the better, Loki is changed for the worse by the events that took place in his absence and this leads to them eventually losing him.

And when they are informed he is on Midgard, Aldrif accompanies Thor to get him back. But on Midgard she meets a man named Steve Rogers, Captain America, the man out of time. He does not care that she is a bastard or that she is half Angel (for he has a very different view of angels). He is the first person in a very long time to see her for who she is. In fact, most of Midgard is the same and she falls in love with it just as her brother had. But unlike her brother, when they capture Loki, she decides to remain on Midgard, not as Aldrif Odinsdottir, the Bastard of Asgard, but as Angela, the Avenger.

› I think this is the fastest I've ever finished a plot. When I said my mind was already running I REALLY meant it

› so I'm not super fond of the summary, I think it could use some tidying up so feel free to do that and change as much as you like.

› okay I have changed some stuff from Angela's backstory, hope that's alright. I just felt that it fit better with the MCU. When looking into Angela for my research on this story I didn't find much that would be easily to just slot into the MCU as it was. I did my best, but I hope these changes are acceptable.

› let's begin, shall we?

› the Angels of Heven, the Tenth Realm. My research told me they were quite the materialistic people and it was only due to being paid by Odin that they protected the borders of Asgard. They were offered more by enemies of Asgard to get to them, they told Odin "double their offer and we'll continue protecting you" but he was having none of that and was, in fact, disgusted by her lack of honour. The Queen preferred material rewards and so declared war on Asgard.

› war waged on and eventually the Queen (unnamed in the comics as far as I could tell) wanted an upper hand. While in the comics she kidnapped Odin's eldest child, in this here fic, the Queen instead sneaks into Asgard to conceive a child with Odin. You can think of how specifically she does this based on your comfort level.

› as stated in the summary, the Queen uses the newborn baby to taunt Odin, demanding he retreat or she will kill his child. Odin didn't believe her, tried to call her bluff and the Queen stabbed the baby in the heart. They believed the baby was dead and so it was at this time that Odin severed Heven from the other Nine Realms and the world tree, Yggdrasil, that connected them all.

› when they go back to the baby, the realize she is alive and Odin does some kind of test or magic and this proves that it is his daughter. He takes her home and names her Aldrif.

› Odin does not keep it a secret what Aldrif is. She's his child and the Queen of Angels, therefore half-Angel. Thor and Loki have already been born, both of them at least a few years old by this point. Neither of them have much concept of what happened at this stage and therefore accept Aldrif without question or concern.

› Frigga also does this as she is too much of a kind and caring woman not to. She accepted Loki, after all.

› most other people in Asgard don't accept Aldrif. She's half-Angel, who are their enemies. They don't like her. Also don't like that she's a bastard. Growing up on Asgard isn't as perfect for her as it is for others.

› she will be involved in the events of Thor, of course, though I will keep those details out of this to avoid spoilers

› she will be sent with Thor to Midgard by Heimdall in The Avengers to find Loki and bring him home to stand trial there

› here she meets Steve. He is kind and strong and wants to help people. He looks at her and doesn't see a king's bastard and a child of the enemy. He just sees a warrior and Thor's sister. He sees her for who she is and that's it.

› after they capture Loki and he's handcuffed and gagged, Thor tells her they're going home and this is when she tells him that she doesn't want to go. She wants to stay on Midgard where she's not looked down on. Thor, who's only ever wanted the best for her, allows her to stay and tells her that he will explain to their father

› when Thor and Loki are gone, she decides to join SHIELD, I would think, alongside Steve. But before that, they should decide to see some of Midgard/the twenty first century together since they both have stuff to see. They both say that this is strictly platonic but we all know it's not

› this would also give you a chance to have her tell him that she's decided to change her name and go by Angela now and he should approve of that and say it's a good name

› she will be working alongside Steve and Natasha when it comes time for The Winter Soldier to go down

› losing SHIELD should hit Angela in some way. She thought she'd found a place to do good and that was ripped away. Not too much as she is immortal and the two years she spent there are a blink of an eye to her but it should still hurt

› she will fight alongside her fellow Avengers against Ultron and definitely make a joke about Vision being her nephew because Thor helped bring him to life

› either Thor should go get her or she gets a dream vision like we saw in Ragnarok from Heimdall that explains stuff before he calls her back to Asgard. She should try and help Jane through everything and will be relieved to reunite with her brothers

› I think both Thor and Loki should notice a change in her. She would explain that she goes by Angela now and aside from that, she is a bit colder than the last time they saw each other. Everything that's gone down has changed her as well as them

› she will still go back to Midgard after everything goes down and back to Steve, who should comfort her about what went down with Malekith

› Angela will obviously side with Steve in Civil War but since she's Asgardian, they can't hold her and I think they would offer her the opportunity to either go back to Asgard or remain in a prison or something else, I'm not totally sure, we can discuss it. I don't really like the prison idea but I think it'd be funny if when her brothers came to get Odin they also had to break her out of prison before going to him

› she will be equally as surprised as her brothers to discover they have another sister but less surprised that she was locked away by Odin

› I don't know what your plans are for Loki in your series so I will only say that if he is still to die, she will be crushed by this. And will be kind of the final straw before she gets much more cold and deadset on revenge against Thanos

› she will not be snapped

› Steve will not go back in time to be with Peggy as he is with Angela. It could be fun to do a little part of the shenanigans that would ensue from her going with him to return all the stones as I imagine that was not just simple. Especially returning the Soul Stone. Not that I wanted Steve on Vormir but come on, the Red Skull is there. Come on.

› side note but I KNEW, I fucking KNEW IT that he wasn't dead and had been teleported into space somewhere. I called that shit back in 2012 after I first watched the movie and wrote my first shitty fanfic for Steve.

› ahem, anyways.

› since from then on Steve is dead and not involved this changes things in Phase Four of the MCU and beyond.

› Steve should still give the shield to Sam. Whether he does this because he is retiring entirely or just moving on from being Captain America is up to you. It would be cool if he went back to being Nomad as we were ROBBED of more Nomad content and I will stand by that. Or he could just do something else, up to you

› or, of course, you can have Steve die and the story ends with no happy ending. Obviously a choice. I wouldn't say it's my favourite but it's an option open to you

› if you choose to have him live, you could have Angela and Steve go into space and do stuff there (maybe with the Guardians since both the Christmas special and vol. 3 are gonna be coming)

› you could have them go with Thor and also with the Guardians so that's an option

› Angela at least should be involved in Love and Thunder. Whether Steve is with her is up to you but it would be fun to include him, I think, and his wonder at all of this stuff. Plus he probably wouldn't get along with Gorr very well. And he can also world Mjolnir so it going between Thor, Jane and Steve could be fun for sure

› if you want Steve and Angela to be involved in TFATWS that's up to you but I think Steve's absence is the most key thing to this series so up to you if you can make that work. I believe you could as you are an exceptional writer but that's still totally your choice

› from here, at the time of publishing, we have no more content that I think Angela would involved in!
