Seattle

Hello guys! Sorry for the very late update. First of all I want to inform you that I had a co-writer on this chapter, she wrote most of the chapter. Wonderfulwillows. Enjoy the chapter!!

Val's POV:

I woke up with the bright sun peaking through the cracks of my dull window shades. I groaned and replayed last night through my head. It was good, then awful, then unforgettable but wonderful over all. I am not quite sure what Legolas and I are, but now I know I would enjoy... dating him. It sounds perfect. Valerie and Legolas.

I was so caught up in girly day dreams, I didn't hear the unmistakable front door squeak. I almost fell back asleep but when Skylar came banging into my room, hollering "Legolas is up! So get your lazy ass out of bed because I didn't get up at 7:00am to drive you two to the airport just so you could leave me here all alone I mean you are even taking Cindy!" She inhaled and exhaled catching her breath. I fought a smile because I would just get yelled at further. Skylar was a mess. Her hair honestly looked like shit. Like a cow just marched over and pooped on her. Lovely.

You see, today Legolas and I are leaving to meet my parents all the way in Seattle because my parents thought it was a good idea to celebrate New years in a place that isn't your home. It isn't a SUPER long flight, but it leaves SUPER early in the morning. For Skylar, I am pretty sure someone spiked the punch even though it was a school event. Immature children and I never had time to drink any because I was waltzing in the street with my beautiful elf, yet Skylar seemed to have all the time in the world to get refreshments. So she is most likely experiencing a mild hangover.

"I am going but grab my bags." I said pointing to the few suitcases leaning against the wall. I had Legolas', Cindy's, and mine just sitting there. "Oh, and go bring hell to my dearest sister Cindy-loo-hoo."

She smiled wickedly. "My pleasure." She forgot completely about the bags and crept out into the spare bedroom.

I know what your thinking, 'No!! That is Legolas's room!' but Cindy flew in last night and took a taxi here. I knew I couldn't make her sleep on the couch so I compromised. Usually I would make her buy her own hotel room but she seemed set on staying with me. We all know all she wants is my hot elven boy. So anyways, I tricked her by telling her she could sleep in Legolas' room and she got SUPER happy. It was absolutely hilarious when she found Legolas already asleep on the couch.

I heard a growl and numerous screams. I sat up and stretched like the day was perfectly normal. I slowly dragged my body out from the warm haven of my blankets. With every step towards my dresser I could almost hear my bones moaning from the pressure and weight. I threw on some sweats and hoodie because mom said it it raining a ton and it it super cold in the North West. I grabbed a bag and tried to pull it into the living room. Key word: Tried. I huffed and grunted, heaving the bag one centimeter at a time. I suddenly felt all the weight leave and I opened my eyes from their concentrated squint. Legolas stood easily holding his bag over his shoulder with the one I am guessing is Cindy's in the other hand.

"Thanks." I mumbled lost in his eyes. He bent down and kissed my cheek.

"You're welcome, Valerie." I blushed and started into his eyes. I tore my eyes away and forced myself to grab my suitcase. Luckily, it was a new one that had wheels. Yay! I rolled it down to my car. I picked it up and heaved it into the back. It barely fit with Cindy's huge pink Leopard print one. All that and no rollers. Who designs these things? I turned around when I heard the click of heels, angrily approaching.

There stomped my wonderful sister. She had a pink tight dress with super ugly pink heels. "Don't talk to me." She huffed loudly and climbed into the car. Claiming shotgun without speaking. I sighed internally and climbed into the small back seat. Legolas was already nicely fit. Or maybe smashed is a better word. Skylar eventually came out of the building, but her hair and makeup looked way better. She climbed in.

"I still can't believe you aren't taking me to Seattle with you."

-------------------------------

Our flight landed and I slung my carry-on over my shoulder and stood. In a very slow, miserable process, everyone left the plane. I kept getting bumped and jostled around. Suddenly I felt warm, strong arms wrap around me carefully so I wouldn't fall. I pressed my back against his as everyone slowly scooted forward.

By the time we were at baggage claim, Legolas and I were holding hands. It was about 10:00 here but in New York it is 1:00. Yup, I just got off a six hour flight. Woohoo! Legolas REALLY enjoyed it once again and he was fascinated that I could put little things (ear buds) in my ears without having serious hearing problems.

Once our bags came around, we went out into the chilly air so we could find my mom's blue Hummer. She is kind of crazy. We waited only three minutes before it pulled up. My mom's door flew open and she ran to us and threw her arms around me. Then Cindy.

"Oh, I missed you like crazy. Cindy, didn't you say our little Val was bringing a friend? A booooooyyyyyyfrrrriiieeennndd??? Where is he?" For some reason there was a total geek standing near me. My mom's head whipped to him and she engulfed him in a hug. "Oh, you and Val can be nerds together." I almost face palmed but instead I pulled Legolas towards me out of the shadows he was so cleverly hiding in.

"Mom? I don't know that boy." She looked up an scooted away awkwardly. "But this is my friend Legolas." Her eyes grew big.

"Val, I am not hugging another stranger. This hot guy and you are actually dating?"

"N-" I was cut off by Legolas himself.

"Yes. Yes we are and she is quite the charmer herself. I just wanted to ask you and her father permission to court her." Oh no, don't blow your cover Legolas!!! Don't use weird language!

Surprisingly my mother burst into giggles. "Ye-yes! To- COURT-her!" She laughed really hard and we eventually got in the car to drive to my parent's little house in Northern Seattle.

I was in a room with Legolas because mom refused him to sleep on the couch; even though he sweetly offered to. Cindy had begged mom to let my elf stay in her room but she bluntly said no. My father was on the way still and my mother didn't like the idea of my father on the way. I cuddled into bed with my sweats on because it was 10:00 pm by the time dinner and everything was finished. I heard a soft creak from the door and suddenly a warm body next to me. I drifted into dreamland.

------------------------------

We were only staying two days so I had to show Legolas everything. Mom was "working" today so we had a whole day to ourselves. Cindy had found some fancy mall somewhere that she could waste a day.

"Come on Legolas! We are going to Pike Place Market!!" I ran throughout the busy streets, holding Legolas' hand and occasionally pausing for side walk traffic. We ran to a filled market front that had big red bold letters that read: Public Market. I lead him through and showed him the first Starbucks and the throwing of the fish. We bought a great smelling homemade lotion. Over all, I think Legolas liked it.

Next we were headed to the Pacific Science Center. After only seconds of reading the maps, The elf decided we were going to the butterfly pavilion. He swiftly threw me on his back and gave me a piggy back ride all the way there. Once we arrived, a staff member let us in, telling us all the instructions. I nodded and we were let in. As a little girl, I loved this place. One of my most cherished childhood memories is when three butterflies landed on me at once. I whispered to them and they fluttered away. Legolas started muttering softly. Oh no, hopefully this won't be like the zoo all over again! One butterfly came and sat on my shoulder. Then another then three more. I was mesmerized. It was beautiful. But Legolas' muttering didn't stop there, no. Thousands of butterflies flew towards me. The swirled around Legolas and I. I closed my eyes and smiled wide. I felt soft lips again on my cheeks. This was beautiful.

Eventually, after many pictures from other tourists, we got out of the Science museum. I had one final destination for us to visit today. It was beautiful and perfect. I stood in line and purchased tickets to the incredible, Space Needle. Our elevator left in two minutes. We were first going to the top to see the city at night, then down to the middle landing for dinner. SkyCity. An expensive but beautiful dinner that tops all else.

Legolas and I were the only ones on this elevator. The door dinged and we walked in. There was a man standing there that was our 'your guide'. His job is to basically tell us about every little thing about history and present things of the Needle as the elevator reaches the top.

I turned to him. "Here," I said pointing to the window. "Look out side at the beautiful city. As we go up, you will see more and more." I took his hand. He stared out and the elevator began to move. Turns out Legolas does NOT like elevators. He pulled me really close to him and shock slightly. His breaths became uneven. I looked at him and his eyes were clamped shut with his face very pale. The elevator dinged and stopped signaling the end of the ride. As soon as the doors opened it seemed I was already out.

"I am never doing that again. Ever."

I chuckled a little. "How are you going to get down?" His face became thoughtful then he sighed in defeat. "I hate those. They move and close down on you. Then it looks like the windows are going to break and we would all fall to our deaths." I laughed again and drug him to the outside balcony. We spent some time up there, then headed to dinner. It was splendid and Legolas said this food was like his back home. I wanna live there because if ever meal is as good as this, I might die. Getting him into the elevator was a bit of a struggle but it worked in the end.

We hailed a taxi and arrived home at 11:30. We crept in and climbed into bed noiselessly. I fell asleep to the gentle breathing of my Elven Prince.

-------------------------

My head was laid on a rising and falling, well-built chest that belong to Legolas. He was shirtless and his arms comfortably circled my waist. The door opened but I could care less. I was tired and comfortable.

"Awe, you two are SO cute!" My mom squealed. "Oh, and time to get up." She left the room. I groaned. I got up and prepared for the day. It was quite uneventful really. We went shopping, and then went home and prepared for a large meal.

Legolas carried the brown paper bags while I told him stories of my childhood but then was interrupted as two voices screaming like there was nobody near to hear. I knew exactly who was yelling and why. I opened the door to find my father and mother on both sides of the table screaming at the top of their lungs while Cindy sat at the table texting on her phone like nothing was going on around her.

Legolas stood still beside me, looking at my parents with bewilderment. "Guys." I said quietly but they still yelled at each other "GUYS!" I shouted making all three of them turn their heads to me. Once Cindy saw Legolas she bounced up her seat and ran over to Legolas. "Leggy bear, I'm so glad you're hear." she said in a very annoying voice. I felt sick. "Can't we guys just have a normal dinner!?" I asked frantically. My mother glared at my father while she retreated to the kitchen. "Vally honey!" my dad tried greeting me but I hissed "Not. Now. Dad." as I grabbed Legolas and stormed to our room.

"Valerie, are you alright?" Legolas asked me once we were inside our room. I sighed to myself knowing this was what happen every holiday. My parents would yell at each other like there was no tomorrow. Luckily Cindy wasn't also yelling. Instead of answering Legolas, I walked up to him grabbed his face and smashed his lips against mine. He didn't push me away instead he wrapped his arms around me and moved his lips against mine. Our kiss was passionate but it was not like the kiss we shared when we went to the disco, this kiss was filled with love and need.

We pulled away and I said "Every time I come to visit my parents they always fight. They are suppose to be my inspiration for a family but no.... they definitely are not. I hear the cries and screams, it can haunt a person for life." Legolas pressed a lingering kiss on my forehead and whispered "I am here for you Valerie, let me be your inspiration." Can he get any perfect?

**

We were eating in the dining room with my mom and dad on the ends of the table, opposite of each other. Cindy sat in front of me alone while I sat beside Legolas which he was closer to my mother. It was so quiet that if you drop a needle you could hear it hit the ground. I was just waiting to see who will break first, mom or dad usually it was mom. I was nervous but I knew Legolas was there for me, he even held my hand under the table.

"So who is your friend Val?" My father asked "Uhhh.. he is my date." I replied not sure if those were the right words. His eyebrows raised and said "Wow, never knew you had it in you." and just like that my mother stood from the table and slammed her hand on the table "How dare you!! Cindy has always had it in her yet you always favor Val over Cindy." my mother screeched "Why can't they both be at the same level? They are our daughters after all." my father shouted back.

"They are my daughters!!" Mother yelled and they began yelling and Cindy was just laughing in the middle that's when I have finally lost it I shouted at the top of my lungs as I stood up "SHUT UP!!" both of them were silent as they looked at me "All I ever wanted was a peaceful dinner with my family-- but I guess we can't have that and if we can't why the fuck do we even have these events when all we ever do is fight and yell." I yelled as I stormed out of the hotel room with Legolas trailing behind me.

It was only eleven so we only had an hour until next year and probably an hour and a half until mom and dad would be asleep. Then it would be safe to return. Cindy, Legolas, and I are leaving tomorrow at seven so I can avoid my parents. Another fun visit but at least Legolas knows my family. I walked in silence until I reached the crowded center that stood counting. I seemed we only had a minute left. I had stopped and let Legolas get really close to me. I turned and rested my head on his chest. His arms encircled me. I had dried tears on my face.

"I don't dislike you because of your family. I am pulled closer to you from that fiery temper you have." I let out a dry laugh.

Happy New Year!!!!!

The crowd shouted I lifted my chin and lightly pressed my lips to his. The kiss was soft and slow. The funniest part was that the fireworks were going crazy, just like they say in the books but this time, there were both kinds.
