The chapter after next one would take place in 'Chicago'. Enjoy!

        The flight back to New York was a blur, We said goodbye to Cindy and of course she flirted a bit with Legolas but Legolas didn't notice anything. "So who are you taking to the Christmas Ball?" Skylar asked as we arrived in my small apartment while Legolas went to his room to put his bags down. "I don't know, maybe when someone asks me." I replied 

"Christmas ball? what is that?" Legolas asked as he came into the room "Christmas ball one of the biggest parties in school. We wear gowns while men wear their suits and men have to ask women to go with them to this party." Skylar said as she pretended she was dancing around. "Unfortunately no one is gonna be my date." I said rather harshly as I threw my jacket on the couch. "I have."

Me and Skylar's head snapped towards Legolas who was looking like an innocent puppy. "What do you mean you have?" Skylar asked putting her hands on her hips "This girl at Zac's party asked me." Legolas said thinking he was in deep trouble but he wasn't but me on the other hand was feeling some sort of a stomach ache of some sort, since my stomach churned in a very uncomfortable way. "Jessica Belle." "Oh God! Jessica? I should have known, she had her eyes literally glued on you from the first time she saw you!" Skylar fussed 

"Is it a bad thing?" Legolas asked "no." I said but at the same time Skylar said "Yes." Skylar really wanted Legolas to go with me and I didn't mind, not at all. Legolas was torn between me and Skylar. I sighed but then said "Legolas you can go with anybody you like but just be careful since Jessica is a heart breaker." Legolas flinched at the word heart breaker. 

Suddenly the phone rang and me and Skylar raced to pick it up but since I was more near to the phone I snatched it up "Hello." I said to the phone "Hello, Is Val there?" the voice asked "This is her speaking, Umm.. who is this?" I asked back wondering who could be looking for me. "It's Zac, Zac Ruperts." my whole body froze and my muscles went tensed. "Za...Z..Z..Zac! H-Hey!" I stuttered, Skylar had a shock face while Legolas had an expression like he was ready to kill. "Hey Val! I called to ask you something." his voice actually made me melt. It wasn't suppose to! 

I thought I was over him!

"Yeah, Shoot! Go! Vroom!" I literally was embarrassment to society he chuckled then continued on "Me and a few friends are going to the Zoo because my mom is forcing me to go take my younger brother there and decided to make the most of it so I was wondering if you wanted to go-- You can even bring Skylar and Legless." "It's Legolas." I corrected him a bit pissed off that he couldn't get his name right. Why was I so mean if someone insults Legolas?

"Yeah, whatever! So are you up for it?" and I think you can guess what my answer was.

Because next thing I knew I was driving to the Zoo with an excited Legolas in the front seat and a very furious Skylar in the back. She hated Zac and his group especially Stacey but Skylar knows that I could never say 'no' to Zac. It happened all the time during college. Ask me for an extra ball pen then gave him my only ball pen, gave him my extra paper but didn't give Skylar I just could never say 'no'. 

but once we got to the entrance of the Zoo, my heart sank to my stomach. Not only was there Zac and his cutest brother but then there was Stacey and Jessica. Only them! My heart sank as I saw Jessica meaning she would be mostly clinging to my Legolas-- Wait! Did I just say my? This is not good. "Val!!" Zac greeted me as he approached me with his smexy smile. "Hey Zac!" I said awkwardly "This is the birthday boy, Scott. My brother." Zac said as if his brother meant nothing to him.

        "Hello there! Happy Birthday!" I said as I squat to Scott's level but he just glared at me and said "You would look more prettier if you shut your mouth." the smile on my face instantly faded but Zac chuckled and pushed Scott behind him harshly and said "He is not particularly friendly." Skylar tried holding her laughter but Stacey took notice and scowled at her while Skylar flipped her off.

"Let's begin!" Zac said as he started leading us in. Our trip was about to go crazy since Stacey and Skylar couldn't stop bickering while Jessica was clinging to Legolas like an over obsessive monkey and Zac wouldn't stop either flirting with me or saying rude and rather mean comments towards his little brother. I mean I may have a huge crush on Zac but I am not some cold heart blind person. I could tell Legolas and Skylar weren't enjoying their trip much to their disappointment and poor Scoot was sulking as he looked at the animals as if they had some contagious disease. 

I may have feelings for Zac but this is for Scott and my two friends who are living in hell at the moment. I went up to Zac and whispered seductively "Hey Zac I'm pretty bored how about we do something a little interesting." Zac perked up and he nodded like a little kid "Go to the public bathroom and I'll knock three times," as I send him a little wink luckily Scott was looking as some Gorilla. Zac then dashed to the public bathroom without uttering a single word. I then went up to Stacey who was still bickering with Skylar and whispered in her ear "Zac said to meet him in the public bathroom and knock three times, he said don't talk just kiss since it will be very dark." Stacey perked at this and made her way to the public bathroom.

"What the hell!? Zac asked you out yet they are gonna hook up in a bathroom!?" Skylar asked frustrated I just laughed and said "Oh, Zac will get so angry after because he'll think it is me," Skylar then grinned at me and said "Oooh! Naughty Val! I like it" then there was one more to go Jessica but by the looks of Skylar's grin she had everything under control. Skylar then ran over to Jessica and shook her arm "OMG Jessica! I heard that One direction has been spotted in Central Park!!" Jessica then started squealing and Legolas looked like he witnessed a flamingo mating with an elephant.

"OMG! OMG!" Jessica chanted "I'll meet you there!! I have to grab my One direction shirt at my apartment!!" Jessica quickly said as she started running off shouting "Liam Payne here I come!" me and Skylar then burst out laughing. "You know One direction is in Europe right now." Scott said calmly "Yup! That's the point Scott, we have the three annoying people out now we can go have fun!" Skylar said

but still Scott didn't smile "What's fun to do here? I'm kind of disappointed because it used to be more fun when I was younger." Scott said "We can go ride horses." Legolas suggested, me and Skylar looked back at Scott and found him smiling.

        Legolas was a pro at this, first he took Scott for a ride with Scott riding from the front and Legolas did all sorts of stunts making people from all around watch him, taking pictures and this worried me. They might notice his ears or how strange he is but Skylar assured me that everything was alright. When Skylar mounted her horse she was suddenly thrown off by her own horse making her fly forwards. This made all of us laugh especially Scott and for some strange reason as I mounted my horse the horse wouldn't go forward it kept going backwards and most people laughed at that.

Legolas taught Scott how to ride a horse and when Scott rode his own horse he was pretty decent but he was better than me and Skylar. Suddenly Legolas held a hand out to me "Your turn." my cheeks heated up as I looked at his out stretched hand, I then grabbed his hand and he pulled me up but I was behind him "Hold on." he said but before I could slowly put my hands around his waist the horse then took off making me quickly wrap my arms around his waist tightly. His chest was hard but I felt safe and comfortable as I held on to dear life to him. 

"Do you ride horses all the time?" I asked him talking about his home "Yes, it is one of the most common transportation." he said "Then I am doomed if ever I go live with you." I laughed out, I then felt Legolas' back vibrate from his chuckle which sent shivers down my spine. but suddenly I felt Legolas tense I looked at him and saw that he was gazing or more like glaring at something I followed his gaze and saw that across from us was a person whipping a bear and the bear roared out in agony.

My heart went out to the bear. 

"Get down Valerie." Legolas said I did what he said and he also jumped off the horse and jumped over the horse fence which made me, Skylar and Scott's jaw dropped since they were now standing beside me. "He is awesome!!" Scott exclaimed we watched Legolas said something to the man whipping the bear but we couldn't hear since the Zoo was very noisy and we were kind of far away. 

Whatever Legolas said the man ignored him, smirked and continued whipping the bear to get back into its cave. I can also bet for sure that this pissed Legolas off he once told me that he loved nature and especially animals but what he did kind of shocked us three but worry at the same time, he climbed over the fence which was off limits. Me, Skylar and Scott climbed over the horse fence and ran to the bear cage where tons of people were gathering around but all of them were supporting Legolas who was defending the bear. "I told you to leave the bear alone!" Legolas hissed and this made goosebumps appear on my skin.

"Look boy! You cross the law so this means I have to hurt you!" the man slurred as if he was drunk the man then faced Legolas with his whip in his hands ready to strike Legolas. "Legolas!!" I shouted but as the man tried to hurt Legolas, Legolas jumped out of the way making some of the people shout and cheer like they were watching a boxing tournament. but eventually the security came and took the man away from Legolas before Legolas or the bear could come to anymore harm. The manager of the Zoo thanked Legolas and then Legolas went up to the bear and stroke him whispering something to the bear.

Something deep within my heart stirred as I faced the strange elf-- and handsome one at that-- who was caring for the bear. He looked absolutely perfect there. Like he was an angel who fell from the skies, like God has sent him to become our guardian angel but was he my angel?

He then looked up and our eyes met he smiled softly and eventually the security allowed me, Skylar and Scott to enter since we have saved the bear well technically Legolas did but he allowed us to go near the bear and Legolas. Legolas was stroking its hair as if he was comforting the bear and the bear was purring? Scott sat beside Legolas amazed and Skylar stood a small distance scared of the bear but I was on the other side of Legolas "Touch it gently, it won't bite." Legolas encouraged Scott. He then started stroking its hair too. 

Legolas then looked at me and grabbed my hand and guided me how to stroke it. The warmth of his hand made me go red, it reminded me of that one night in California. Legolas was perfect I had to admit that but when will my heart will?

Skylar, Scott and me went to get ice cream eventually Zac was calling my phone like crazy but Scott begged to not answer it and so I obeyed and turned my phone off. Legolas was still at the caves where the bears are saying he'll catch up. but as we went back to the bear section we were shocked at what we saw. Running bears and horses and other animals and Legolas was shouting

"Melloneamin!! Rima! Rima! Rima Melloneamin!!" (My friends! Run! Run! Run my friends!)

he was setting them free, his hands gesturing to go out. He stood in the middle while the animals ran around him.

Me, Skylar and Scott's jaw was dropped but it was quickly replaced by laughter and Scott even laughed out "This is the best birthday ever!" eventually when we heard the security coming me and Skylar quickly grabbed Legolas and Scott then ran out of the Zoo.
