27. The past some more.

Ugh! Headache again.

My temples were throbbing with pain. I tried ignoring it and getting back to sleep since I was feeling so exhausted but it was not possible considering the fact that I was feeling hot as if I was lying on the surface of sun and not to forget heavy; very heavy.

I tried turning on my back to find the cold spot of bed but was being restricted by what seemed like a giant arm and leg caging me. What?

My eyes fluttered open as the first dreaded thought came in my mind which made me shriek and sprint across the bed with full force but of course my throbbing headache was in full swing that led my move towards the intruder instead of the opposite side.

People say alcohol leads you to wrong reflexes; they are wrong it's the aftermath of drinking. A hangover.

Thud- Aahhhh........

There was huge sound and a yelp on the marble floor and the next thing I knew I was lying on top of the intruder face to face only to realise it was Mr. Bentley Stark.

"Holy shmoly"

I shrieked as my mind regained the orientation of last night's events. The call, the booze, crying in Ben's arms and sleeping with him on my bed. Okay, the last part sounded so wrong in my head.

"I don't know about you but your way of waking people up in morning is really painful. A simple good morning will suffice." He said lying beneath me while his grey sparkly eyes tried to burn holes in my eye sockets with an unreadable expression.

"Sorry"

" It's okay Miss sunshine that hit me like a sunstroke. " He grinned

" So sorry." I whispered again under the spell of his mesmerising eyes unable to move an inch.

"Umm, I would love to be in this position any time of the day till whatever time you want." He said as his voice grew huskier and eyes grew more dark. That made my mind realise the not so pg-13 position we were in with me lying on top of a shirtless not to forget hot as hell man with Ben junior pressing hard against my hip.

I quickly scrambled off him and hurried towards the kitchen excusing myself on account of making coffee to hide my reddened face that was screaming out of embarrassment.

Well, I need a strong coffee for my headache anyways but i did hear him chuckle as he moved to the bathroom.

The memory of that call last night; about him hit me like a flood as I sat on my kitchen counter sipping hot coffee and the flashes of my first encounter with him ran in front of my mind like a movie.

"Are you sure it's his house?" I whispered ducking behind the passenger seat of Megan's car as a guy crossed our car.

"Yes I am positive but not sure." She answered mimicking my actions.

" Ohk. That leads us with only way to prove it." I said as I grab open the door.

"Wait. Are you crazy? We should call the cops. This is too risky. " She whisper screamed.

" And tell them what? Like the last 20 times we have been trying to catch this drunkard who rammed his truck into my family's car leading to swiping them from face of The Earth. You know they won't entertain us and shoo us off like last time or probably lock us since we are from foster home and nobody gives a shit about us now. "

We were currently parked in front of poorly maintained house in the suburban area of my home city. After my family died I was given in foster home since I was still underage and had no extended family who could take me in. I met Megan there where she helped me get through the horrendous experiences I never want to think about again in my life.

After weeks of trying to find the driver who killed my family and failing every time like the cops of this city. I finally had an address and description of this man; all thanks to Megan and her gangster contacts.

I slowly crossed the street hiding behind the tree in front of his messed up lawn with Megan behind me. We walked slowly towards his back door to get a good look inside since it was early in night and curtains of his rooms were drawn but we could still hear the voice of what appeared to be the television.

We crawled towards the door and peeked from the crack of door to take a good look inside and next thing I heard was a scream and it all went black.

"Hey! You okay?" Ben shaked me a little with a worried expression on his face as he stood in front of me.

"Yeah. Just hungover" I smiled weakly while sipping my coffee which had turned lukewarm now.

He looked at me for few more seconds as if trying to see through my soul and hugged me tightly. I instinctively melted in his arms inhaling his scent which was mixed with the scent of almond soap of my bathroom. He kissed my head and mumbled

"Let's go somewhere, only you and me. Okay?"

My lips curved up to a smile against his chest and warm embrace.
