Sameer stays back at lawn discussing with Sagar and giving ideas how he can impress Seher but firstly he should confess is feelings to her. He admitted that sometimes we keep waiting for the right time, but time slips from our hand, reminiscing his own mistake that he never confesses his true feelings to Naina otherwise she might have not left him behind alone.

Sagar, "lekin Sameer agar usne mana kar diya toh... atleast pehle impression bhi toh banana padega..." he was still confused if its right time to approach Seher or should he wait little more.

Sameer smiled encouraging him, "jo sachcha pyaar karte hai voh rejection se nahin darrte... maine apne experience se seekha hai ki dil ki baat dil mein rakhne se achchha hai usey bata do... haan ya naa toh kismat hai lekin tumhein koshish poore dil se karni chahiye... agar uske dil mein bhi tumhare liye pyaar hoga toh aaj nahin toh kal uske dil par tumhare dil ki daskat pahunch hi jayegi... kehte hai na sachcha pyaar kabhi nahin haarta... agar mushkilon se daroge toh manzil kaise milegi..."

Coming inside her cabin, Naina completed her daily routine of lightening diya in front of her idol, her Kanhaji. She was trying hard to concentrate on her work but all in vain, in his absence. Though they had come together but after that Sameer got busy in handling decoration at lawn as tomorrow there will be a get-together party for both the families, which needs the resort lawn area to be decorated. Other functions will start after two days, following with engagement and then wedding reception. Wedding is planned to happen at the nearby church as per their customs.

Time and again her eyes drifted towards the door waiting for him to come inside but seems he is too much busy with others leaving her sulking alone. She jolted suddenly distracted with a loud crash sound coming from outside. She rushed sensing some mishap happened and suddenly her heart started thumping loudly with a fear engulfed her heart and mind... her mind screamed only one name "Sameer..."

She came out rushing towards the lawn seeing a bunch of people were standing looking at one side. With trembled steps, she came ahead seeing everyone was laughing pointing towards the lawn... with thumping heart she lifted her heavy orbs seeing the most hilarious scene ahead.

Sagar was lying flat on the grass and all the decoration items were spread all over the ground and a basket lying on top of his head. Seems he was trying to do the decoration by himself, and it flopped making him a laughingstock for all. Seeing Seher instructing workers to complete decoration as per her choice, he volunteered himself to do it by his own to impress her.

Oblivious to everyone's laugh, Naina's eyes searching for the person who was walking towards Sagar trying to help him to stood back on his feet laughing madly, "see I told you ki kisi ko impress karne ke liye aise risk nahin liya jaata... impression toh nahin lekin joke jaroor ban gaya..." he said laughing hard that how he stops Sagar to pull this stunt to impress Seher, but it backfired.

Naina took a sigh relief seeing Sameer all fine. She looked up at him with countless emotions in her eyes. She was hell worried about his well-being knowing though he was handling a huge business empire but has no experience in doing this hard work by himself. What if he gets himself injured in trying to impress her, like he prepared her favorite breakfast.

She quickly turned and rushed back to her cabin before anyone notice her unsettle condition but not left unnoticed by one person. He also quickly followed her in confusion of seeing her so restless suddenly. What makes her worried now?

Naina heaving heavily thought, "hey Kanhaji yeh kaisi ajeeb si bechaini hai kuchh samajh nahin aa raha... iss darr se hi ki Sameer ko kuchh ho toh nahin gaya meri jaan nikal gayi thi... please madad kijiye, mein iss darr iss uljhan ke saath nahin jee sakti..."

Sameer entered seeing Naina standing looking outside the window all lost. He walked closely realizing her vulnerable condition making him more surprise.

A soft hand lays on her shoulder and turns her around slowly. She does everything to avoid those eyes that always seem to look deep into her soul and pull out her hidden secrets.

Naina opened her mouth to speak but she was devoid of words, and she did the first thing that came to her mind... she hugged him tightly whispered, "mujhe laga aapko kuchh ho gaya hai jaise... mein... mein bohot darr gayi thi..."

Sameer was shocked at her action, never in one million years did he expect her to take initiative and hug him by her own... but it's been so long he had her in his arms by herself... he curled his arms at the small of her back, burying his face in the nape of her neck, breathing in her natural scent that smells just like a fresh flower...

He pulled her tightly in his arms rubbing her back softly, "shhh... mujhe kuchh nahin hua... voh toh Sagar sidi se gira tha jiski awaaz aayi thi aur usey bhi chot nahin lagi koi... sab hans rahe the aur tum aise hi darr gayi... relax I am here, and you don't need to worry about anything... okay..." his melodious soft words sooth her restless heart to an extent making her breath normal.

His breathing on her neck woke Naina from her memories, she stiffened, not knowing what to do as she realized she was hugging him and not just that, he was hugging her too, consoling her that he is fine and with her only... the thought of what would happen if anybody saw them like this, made her jumped back instantly, like she was burnt...

Sameer who had been taken aback by how quickly she left his arms just as he was enjoying the feeling of holding her again, was a little hurt when he saw her indifferent attitude again... he cleared his throat to hide the hurt he felt, "let's get back to work... abhi bohot kaam baaki hai"

Naina wanted to say something, but she didn't know how to, watching his back as he got busy in arranging decoration items spread on her table... she couldn't help imagining how good it felt to be in his arms, his chest was strong and his cologne so lured her in... realizing her intimate thoughts, she rushed out from room immediately to get some fresh air to clear her mind...

Naina coming out from room straight went towards the lawn area where people were busy in placing the decoration... she didn't know why she was feeling hurt... in truth, she shouldn't have hugged him in the first place, he is soon going to become her ex-husband and will leave her... but why does she was so worried about him with a mere thought of him being hurt?

Why did she feel at peace when she was in his arms?

Why is she thinking about all this again and again and feeling like this? What in the world is happening to him?

Why? Why? Why?

Sagar and Seher soon joined her discussing on the work completed but her mind was clouded with bizarre thoughts of how to keep her heart and mind in control, "pata nahin Sameerji kaise personal life ke saath itna bada business bhi handle kar lete hai... jab se voh aaye hai mujhse ek bhi kaam nahin ho raha theek se... bas har waqt unke saath rehne ka man karta hai... bas voh meri najron ke saamne rahe mujhe aur kuchh nahin chahiye..."

Few moments passed, Sameer also joined them in discussion and briefed about the work he had completed. Naina observes his gloomy face and how he is avoiding looking at her. How can she not understand how her sudden reactions play havoc with his feelings, hurting him more.

Making a random excuse she called him in her cabin giving different tasks to other team members so that she can talk with him in peace, "Sameer mujhe aapse catering ke liye kuchh discuss karna hai... can you please come with me..." saying this without waiting for his reaction she went back to her cabin.

Sameer came inside asking, "tell me what you need to discuss..." he asked in a cold tone as not in a mood to talk.

Naina looking his gloomy mood asked, "aap... aap naaraz ho mujhse..." she asked hoping to clarify why she distanced herself as doesn't want any outsider to see them together. It's their working place and she doesn't want people to gossip about them. they already had lots of misunderstanding between them and she was no more in mood to double them.

Sameer smiled inwardly keeping a straight face asked, "kyun... tumhein kyun farq padta hai agar mein naraaj hoon ya nahin... afterall, mere hone ya na hone se tumhein kya... jab se mein aaya hoon tumhein sirf pareshaan hi toh kar raha hoon... tum toh chahti ho na ki mein yahaan se jald se jald chala jaaun, toh phir meri itani chinta kyun..." he asked expecting her to say that how much she valued their relation and wanted to be with him.

Naina got stunned realizing he again trapped her in his tricks... before she replied, his phone starts ringing. Sameer not bothered to attend the call walk towards her slowly with an evil smirk, "bolo... koi farq padta hai tumhein meri narazagi se, ya mere dur chale jaane se... tum toh khush ho na mere bina"

Naina blinked hard to hide her feelings that how much his presence matter to her... but seeing his smile she understood he was again teasing her... she smiled replying, "of course farq padta hai mujhe, kyunki mein chahti hoon ki mera saara staff khush rahe... sab khush rahenge tabhi toh khushi khushi shaadi ki preparations kar payenge... ab udaas man se toh koi shubh kaam nahin hota na..." she played along with a naughty glint in her eyes.

Sameer walked closely suddenly caging her in his arms, "oh... toh BOSS Madam ko apna staff khush chahiye... matlab yeh sab tumhare business tactics hai... huh..." he said tracing his long fingers on her cheeks making her heartbeat started racing wildly. Naina gulped while looking closely at his face.

Swiftly his eyes glued on her luscious lips which were just an inch away and the slightest move from any of them would be enough to join them together, to take them in paradise.

Their moment again disturbed by continuous rings on his phone which he remained ignoring to keep his focus completely on the beautiful lady in his arms. He pertains to not to listen the disturbing noise focusing on her asked, "if you know ki staff ko kaise khush rakhte hai toh you must be aware ki apne pati cum assistant ko kaise khush rakhte hai... tum toh vaise bhi sab ke dil ki baat samajh leti ho toh you must know that how much I am missing my energy dose... dekho kitni weakness ho rahi hai, so, may I?" saying this the moment he took the initiative to capture her lips, they got distracted by cell phones started ringing again interrupts their lovey-dovey moment, but this time it's both of their phone's ringing together.

Sameer huffed annoyingly keeping his head on her forehead but smiled seeing the naughty smile crept on her lips gesturing towards their phones, but before moving away she gave a soft peck of his cheek making him shocked on her sudden move.

She winked, "it's time to work Mr Assistant... abhi ke liye itane se kaam chala lijiye..." they both burst into laughter and picked up their respective phones. She reached for her phone was on a nearby table. She checked the caller ID and saw that it was an unknown number, but she picked it anyways.

Sameer's expression turned serious hearing the person on other side, he replied slowly after some minutes, "get everything ready, I am coming..."

Saying this he disconnected the call when suddenly a message beeped on his mobile. Keeping his eyes focused on his screen he said, "I am going for some urgent work... I will be back as soon as possible... please take care of yourself..." saying this he turned and dashed out from the cabin without waiting for her reply, as the matter was utmost urgent to be attended immediately.

Naina turned hearing a loud bang of her cabin door and realized Sameer has gone outside. She was focused on talking with a new client who wants their function to get happen at their resort that didn't emphasis what Sameer told her before leaving, "I think Sameer kuchh bol rahe the... koi nahin thodi der mein milungi toh puchh lungi..." she focused back on her call discussing with client.

Few hours passed she came out to check the work happened so far but didn't find Sameer anywhere. She went near Seher discussing something when asked getting impatient, "voh Seher, have you seen Sameer somewhere... I mean mujhe kuchh discuss karna tha kal ki party ke liye unse..."

Sagar replied in turn casually, "Naina Madam, voh Sameer toh thodi der pehle jaldi mein kahin jaa rahe the... maine dekha tha teen chaar cars aayi aur voh usmein se ek mein baith kar chale gaye... kaafi saare log bhi the black suit mein unke saath... maine pichhe se roka bhi par voh jaldi mein the toh kuchh suna hi nahin..."

Knowing Sameer's identity, it was not surprising for him to go in car with his bodyguards. But Naina was quiet surprised hearing that Sameer has left few hours back without telling her. What was so urgent that he rushed in hurry and didn't came back till now. Suddenly she recalled how last day also he left to pick up Nehu from school, without telling her.

She walked aside and quickly dialed to Swati, "voh Swati tu ne kaha tha tu Nehu ko aaj pick karegi... so just checking if you are free now to go..."

Swati replied, "you don't worry about Nehu... maine usey pick kar liya hai aur hum donon aaj baahar hi dinner karke thodi der se ghar aayenge... actually meri ek colleague ka aaj birthday hai aur tujhe toh pata hai Nehu sabki favourite hai toh sab ne insist kiya ki mein Nehu ke saath hi aau... so hum donon aaj party mein jaa rahe hai, so don't wait for us..."

Naina feels more restless knowing Sameer is not even with Nehu and Swati. She disconnects the call after few minutes chatting with her little one that they are planning to have fun time enjoying their lunch.

Whole day passed but there was no news of Sameer making her agitated on him, "kya matlab aise achanak se jaane ka... kuchh bataya bhi nahin aur abhi tak vaapas kyun nahin aaye..."

Her anger suddenly turned into her worries, "kahin Sameer kisi musibat mein toh nahin... maine kaha bhi tha ki bina security ke na ghume lekin meri sunta kaun hai... ab kis se pata karoon ki voh theek hai ki nahin... ek message tak nahin kiya itani der se, aur vaise har thodi der mein mujhe pareshaan karne aa jaate the... lekin Sagar ke according toh voh apn security team ke saath gaye hai toh darrne ki koi baat nahin..." she recalled how Sagar informed that few black suited man were following him. Even Sameer also assured her that he is taking care of everyone's safety.

Naina had a restless day later. Ever since their last interaction, he had not seen anywhere... his messenger account was silent in her inbox as though it had never appeared. She would be lying if she said that she hadn't been thinking about his all the time. She missed him.

Time and again checking her phone with no message she decided, "let's go back home... kya pata Nehu se milne ke liye jaldi ghar aa jaaye... subah se kuchh pata nahin kahaan gaayab hai aur kya jaane lunch bhi kiya hai ki nahin..." she herself lose appetite and didn't eat anything missing him gravely.

There was a moment she had thought that she had forgotten to pay the phone bills, or her wireless network had gone down, otherwise why there is no message from Sameer?

Nevertheless, apart from his personal absence and messages, all other forms of communication of hers was working well... she realized few minutes back only she got the call from one of supplier for wedding material. It proved that she had paid her phone bills and her network was also working well.

Instead, it was Sameer who had really stopped contacting her.

She thought to herself, perhaps he had grown frustrated. He probably thought it was pointless for him to keep pestering her... he had probably again moved on in his life, without her...

Wasn't that's the good news?

Everyone had their own lives & he was destined to go back. So, what's wrong now?

Nevertheless, there was a void in her heart.

Naina seeing the empty house, fell onto the sofa behind her, holding her phone tightly in her hand.... The gap in her heart made Naina hate herself... it was she who had been refusing him. she wanted to cut off contact with him forever. But when he again stopped contacting her, why did her heart feel so hollow?

It was as if something had been taken away.

After all, since they met each other again, he frequently appeared in her life, occupying her recent couple of days. It was natural that people would get used to someone. She spent few minutes but sensing it's getting dark outside, and Nehu might be coming back any moment with Swati, she collected herself making strong again to face the reality... her reality to be remain alone.

To get freshen up and clear her mind, she went back to her room. She looked around the room again as she stepped inside, feeling a little disconcerted that there were no traces of the fact that he has spent last two days in her room. Like all those moments could easily have been just figments of someone's imagination. The irrational part of her felt angry for having just left without a single word and while she was not around, while the rational reasoned that he had done the right thing by saving them both a rather difficult conversation.

What was there left to discuss anyways between them?

She sits back on the bed side taking a deep sigh tried to convince herself that she was just being silly and overthinking what was bound to be. She reassured herself that everything would soon feel alright, and things would fall back in their place soon. But to her dismay as much as she tried not to, she would keep remembering their close interactions, his teasing, their intimate moments, his flirting's, since he arrived here.

Naina POV

Mujhe hamesha se guilt tha ki mujhe Sameer ko yun achanak chhod kar nahin aana chahiye tha, lekin aaj ehsaas hua ki maine unhein kitna dard diya tha. Aaj ehsaas hua ki jab koi achanak bina bataye aapse dur, bahut dur chala jaaye toh kaisa mehsoos hota hai. Uss din Sameer ne mere liye koi surprise plan kiya tha, jiske liye voh kitne excited the aur saare arrangements khud kar rahe the... mujhe special feel karane ke liye unhone kitna sab kiya lekin maine kya kiya... bina soche, bina samjhe bas unhein chhod kar aa gayi... shayad ek baar unse dobara baat ki hoti toh hum milkar apni mushkil ka saamne kar paate lekin uss ek kamjor pal mein maine apni zindagi, apni har Khushi kho di...

Aaj Sameer ke paanch saal ke Intzaar ka dard, mujhe sahi maayne mein mehsoos ho raha hai. Ek shaam ke iss ehsaas me mujhe tod diya toh na jaane Sameer ne paanch saal isey kaise saha hoga. Maine hamesha se sab ko yakeen dilaya ki mein khush hoon, Sameer ke bina jee sakti hoon, Nehu ko har voh Khushi de sakti hoon jo uska haq hai lekin Sameer ne achanak aa kar mera yeh bharam bhi tod diya. Na mein aur na hi Nehu, donon Sameer ke bina kitne adhure hai yeh ehsaas mujhe inn do dinon mein hua... pehle baar maine mehsson kiya ki mere aur Nehu ke liye ek complete family ki kya value hai... aur hamari zindagi mein yeh kami sirf aur sirf Sameer poori kar sakte hai...

Lekin aaj voh vaapas chale gaye, hum donon ko akela chhod kar... unhein jaana tha, yeh toh maloom tha lekin aise achanak, bina bataye... kismat ne aaj mujhe meri galtiyon ki saza di hai... jaise maine unka dil toda tha vaise hi aaj mein bhi tadap rahi hoon unki ek jhalak ke liye... unki voh shararatein, unki masti majaak, mujhe tease karna sab yaad aa raha hai....

Yeh sab meri galtiyon ki saza hai aur mein uske liye khud ko samjha bhi lungi lekin Nehu, usey kya kahungi jab voh puchhegi ki uske Papa kahaan hai... jis baat ka darr tha aaj vahi hua... meri bachchi ka masoom sa dil toot jayega... ek aisa jakhm jo mein chah kar bhi nahin bhar paaungi... jis dard se mera bachpan beeta hai aaj vahi meri beti ke saath ho raha hai aur iski wajah sirf mein hoon..."

वादों की तरह इश्क़ भी आधा रहा,
मुलाकातें कम रहीं इंतज़ार ज्यादा रहा!

She remained waited for Sameer to come back but there was no sign for him anywhere. Swati called and informed that they will be coming late as going to her friends place for a party. Naina was all alone at home deeply hurt and missing the moments they spent together.

Her chain of thoughts break hearing the sound of door opening. Expecting Sameer to be back she rushed out from her room but halt at the doorstep seeing Swati entering carrying sleeping Nehu in her arms.

Swati leaving her handbag on the table went straight inside the room, making the little one sleep comfortably, "Nheu aaj itana thak gayi thi ki raaste mein hi so gayi... saara din masti karke bhi man nahin bhara iska... aur vahaan bhi sab isey vaapas nahin aane de rahe the..." she said giving a soft peck on her forehead covering her with duvet.

Naina sits close to Nehu removing her shoes asked from Swati, "mujhe laga aaj mein akele rehne wali hoon... tum donon ne bohot late kar diya aane mein..." she asked expecting Swati might be having any clue about Sameer's whereabout.

She had a little hope in her heart that Sameer might have called Nehu to talk. She had seen their bonding and can't believe that Sameer didn't call even to his Angel.

Swati watched the change of expression on Naina's face and couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her mind. She looked like she was in pain with the way her brows creased. Swati smiled inwardly not showing upfront assuming Naina must be missing Sameer, and this seems a good sign for their relation. Little did she knew that Naina assumed his missing as for always not for just a day.

Swati completely ignoring of her worries replied smilingly, "hmmm... der toh ho gayi... mujhe laga tu toh ab tak so chuki hogi shayad... well I am also very tired, so I am going to sleep... tu bhi so ja... good night..."

Swati left leaving her in daze thinking, "Swati ne shayad dhyaan hi nahin diya ki Sameer yahaan nahin hai... vaise bhi voh donon ek dusre ko jyaada nahin jaante so there's no chance ki Swati ko Sameer ke baare mein kuchh pata hoga... I wish Nehu jaag rahi hoti toh pakka Sameer ke baare mein puchhati... ya shayad usey kuchh pata hota..." her last string of faith also crushed.

She keeps checking her phone expecting a call or message from him but there was nothing, making her little worried but disappointed more. After thinking far late into the night, weariness washed over her, and she finally fell asleep later in the early morning hours.

आंखों को इंतजार के लम्हात सौंपकर,

नींद भी कोई ले गया अपने सफ़र के साथ
