"Oh I'm sorry!" I said.

The guy chuckled at me. This must be one of Simons friends. He was wearing a plain black top with navy blue shorts and his hair was a dark chocolate brown and he had green eyes.

"It's okay, I'm Josh." He smiled. Oh, that's josh!

"Hey, I'm Danielle. I'm Simons friend." I said.

"So you're the Danielle?" Josh asked.

"I guess so?" I asked even though it's clearly not a question.

"Well it's nice to meet you, Danielle." He replied taking his hand out of his pocket. I shook it softly and giggled.

"You too. I'll see you around, then." I said while walking down the steps backwards so I'd still be facing him. That was a stupid thing to do because my foot ended up missing a step and I almost tripped. Luckily, I regained my balance. It was still extremely obvious that I tripped though...

"Smooth, Danielle." I said to myself. I heard Josh laughing.

"See ya." Josh smiled, still laughing. After that he went indoors and I started walking home.

He probably thinks I'm an idiot now... That's just brilliant. And what did he mean when he said THE Danielle? Does Simon talk about me a lot? Eh, I don't know, I'll just forget about it.

When I got back to my apartment, it was 9:00pm and I was shattered. I don't know why because I haven't done much today, but I was, so I'll deal with it.

I climbed into bed and I just lied there bored out of my mind. I may be shattered, but it's 9 so I am not going to sleep yet. I decided to get out my laptop and Skype Simon. He picked up immediately. He must've been bored as well.

"Hey." I said to him. He laughed.

"Seriously Danielle, is this the first thing you've done since you've been home? Skyped me?" He joked.

"What if it was?" I asked curiously.

"If it was, then I'd make fun of you and say that you love me. If it wasn't, then I'd make fun of you and call you a liar." He laughed.

"So it's a lose, lose situation..." I mumbled.

"Yep." Simon said, popping the p. I chuckled.

"So you met josh, huh?" He said. "Did you like him?"

"Yeah, he seemed like a good guy. I made myself look like an idiot though." I said.

"Really? He just said you were funny." He replied. Well that's good.

I shrugged.

We agreed on Skype that tomorrow I'd go round his to meet josh again and his other friends (the sidemen), who Simon's quite close to which could be fun. Simon and I talked for about another hour before I fell asleep peacefully.

***the next day***

Simons POV:

I'm glad that Danielle's gonna meet the sidemen. I know they'll hit it off, I mean nobody could dislike her. She's like the nicest person I know. She doesn't like to swear, or drink and she's always thinking about others. She's an amazing girl, even though she can get a bit crazy, but she's already friends with josh, so...

I got out of bed and changed into a hype top and shorts. I went downstairs to have breakfast and while I was eating, Josh came down.

"Hey buddaayy." I said.

"Hey," He replied. "Is Danielle coming over again today?" I nodded back.

"S'that alright?" I asked. You know, just in case.

"Yeah! I'd like to get to know her a bit better actually. I think we'll be great friends." He smiled. That's good to hear. One down, five to go.

I ate my cereal and got my phone out to see I had a text message from Danielle.

"Is it alright if I come round in about an hour? X" She asked me.

"Yeah that's fine, see you then. x" I texted her back.

The next person to come down the stairs was JJ, the boy who made racist jokes despite he was black himself, you know the guy...

"Hey, Simon. Where's josh? " He asked. I pointed to the living room doors.

It's 11:20 now and Danielle's going to be here at 12:00. Tobi, Ethan and Harry still need to get round yet but Vikks upstairs. I had nothing to do until then so I walked into the living room with Josh and JJ and we watched some tv for a bit.

And then it was 11:40 and the doorbell went.

"I got it." JJ said standing up. He walked over to the door and opened it. It was Ethan and Tobi.

"HEY GUYS." Ethan shouted. We all shouted back our hellos and chatted for a bit.

11:45

Why am I so nervous? Well, yeah I want everybody to like Danielle but I'm not this nervous about that. It was something else. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on.

I heard a ding which was my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey Simon! Can you come a-a- and p-pick me up pleeease?" Harry stuttered.

I looked at my watch, 11:50. I have ten minutes.

"Yeah, sure where are you?" I asked.

"A-at m-m-my houseee" Why was he stuttering this much?

"Okay. Why can't you dr-" he hung up on me. Strange child.

"Guys I'm going to pick up Harry. If Danielle comes can you invite her in please and tell her I'll be five minutes?" I asked looking at Josh because he was the only one she had seen before. He nodded smiling and I grabbed my keys and walked out of the door.

Danielle's POV:

Time to go! I thought to myself. Should I drive? Naa, I've still got ten minutes. If I walk, I'll be there in five so I might as well.

I grabbed my bag and walked out the door. I'm wearing a navy blue play suit I got the other day when I went out with Simon and I let my long brown hair hang loose around my shoulders because that's the way I like it.

I walked down the road listening to my music from my phone with earphones in. I was getting a LOT of weird looks as I was dancing and singing to myself whilst walking, but I didn't care. I was actually a pretty good singer but I could never sing in front of anybody properly because that scares the freak out of me. The only person who had heard me sing properly was Simon, but even that was rare.

2 minutes later I was at the sidemen house and I knocked on the door.

It was Josh who opened it.

"Hi!" I said, quite surprised.

"Hey, Danielle! Simon just went to go and pick up Harry but he'll be back in 5 minutes. Come in, though." He said calmly.

"Okay." I said excitedly but nervously.

"Do you want a drink?" Josh asked me.

"Can I just have some water please?" I answered. He nodded at me and went to the fridge. He filled up a glass and sat down next to me. I thanked him like any normal person would and we started talking.

"So, you and Simon are close?" He said.

"Yeah, he's been my best friend since second grade." I smiled.

"Oh that's cool. Is that when you moved here from america?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, he was my first friend and he helped me through everything." I said.

"Oh yeah? Like what? If you don't mind me asking that is." He said interestedly.

"It's okay. When I was going into college my parents died in a car collision. It was a really dark time for me. Simon however, convinced me that I should keep going. He was the only one who was there for me." I said. I didn't really like talking about it because it was a huge mood changer.

Since I was looking down at my feet, i didn't see, but josh got up from his seat and hugged me.

"I'm sorry for your loss." He whispered to me.

"It's okay." I smiled sadly. Wow, Josh was really nice.

"Well do you wanna come and meet everyone?" He said. I nodded and smiled.

We walked into the living room where everybody (minus Harry and Simon) was. As soon as we stepped in, all conversations stopped.

"Everybody, this is Danielle." Josh introduced me.

"Hey guys." I grinned and waved.

I got simultaneous hellos from them all and josh went around pointing to them whilst saying their names.

"Ethan, JJ, Tobi, Vikk." He chirped.

"It's nice to meet you all!" I said happily.

"So you're Simons girlfriend?" JJ asked me.

"Try best friend. So you're Ethan's boyfriend?" I joked back. I heard Simon say a lot about how they all joke that Ethan's gay. They all laughed.

"Feisty, I like her." Ethan laughed and I laughed back.

Through all the laughing and messing, Josh's phone went off.

"Hello? Simon! Where are you?" He asked into the phone.

Josh POV:

"Where are you?" I asked.

"Still at Harry's. Can you all come meet us here? Something's wrong with him." Simon replied.

"What? Something's always wrong with him." I explained.

"Yeah, but this time it's different."
