~ 19 ~

Sunhee wasn't sure what to say to Kevin when she got in the car, so she didn't say anything. Her feelings were so jumbled up. A part of her was annoyed and embarrassed that he'd said that to Mark. But another part of her...

Her heart did flips when she replayed his words in her head.

"We live together."

Now, why was her heart being like this?

They spent the whole car ride in silence, she lost in her own thoughts, and he lost in his. They were silent as they rode the elevator together up to their apartment. They were silent as he opened the door for her and let her go in first.

Kevin shut the door, then sighed. "I'm really sorry Sunhee," he said, and when she turned to face him she was surprised at how nervous he looked. "I don't know why I was like that. I'm sorry. Please forgive me?"

He looked like he was on the verge of falling apart, and she melted.

"I'm not mad at you, not anymore," she said softly. "I'm sorry too. For overreacting."

He sighed in relief, looking like a giant weight had been taken off his chest. "So we're good? Right?"

"We're good," she said, smiling at him. "Now... I'm going to go to my room and do my homework? Alright?"

He nodded. "Me too."

She was exhausted. She was falling asleep. But she also had a test tomorrow and was trying to study, for just five more minutes

"Sunhee?" she heard Kevin call softly, knocking at the door.

"Come in," she called, barely able to keep her head up and her eyes open. Good thing she'd showered and brushed her teeth and made her bed right after dinner. After she finished, she could just collapse into bed.

"It's after two," Kevin whispered, pulling up a chair and sitting next to her. She closed her eyes, leaning her head on his shoulder for a moment. Just a moment.

She felt his arm go around her shoulders, and for some reason that made her smile. She felt him move, his eyes looking around and taking in every aspect of her room.

"The photographs are pretty," he commented.

"Thanks," she whispered. "I took them myself. I wish I could be a photographer," she mumbled, her heart hurting as she knew she couldn't. Unless she did really well... she wouldn't make a lot of money.

"Wow!" he said, sounding impressed. "I never knew you were such an artist."

All she could do was yawn. She was too tired to answer now. She desperately tried to focus on her notes. Study.

"You're exhausted," he told her. "Go to bed now."

"Just a few more minutes," she whispered back, yawning again. She truly could barely keep her eyes open...
