~ 16 ~

Class ended, and today was one of the days Sunhee had her part time job... but she was stalling. For some reason, she didn't want to leave Kevin's side just yet.

How did she get so attached to him, so quickly?

She leaned closer to him, intending to say something to him, but her thoughts vanished when she saw his page of notes. She couldn't help the gasp that escaped her when she saw his page.

Doodles everywhere.

And one of her.

Her side profile. He'd drawn her, he'd must have done it when she was writing her own notes, because her hand was in her hair, tucking it behind an ear as the other hand held her pen.

"Do you like it?" he asked, smiling up at her.

Jacob, curious as to what they were looking at, looked over Kevin's shoulder and smiled too when he saw the drawings.

"It's the first time I've seen you draw a girl," Jacob commented teasingly, poking Kevin's shoulder.

"Sunhee is special," Kevin responded, ripping out the drawing and handing it to her. "Here. It's for you."

"Aren't you going to sign it?"

He laughed, taking it back and signing it. "Here. Now it's yours."

She wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him happy and placing her chin on his shoulder, looking at the rest of his drawings. They were all so beautiful. Gosh, he was really so talented.

"It looks like someone bit out a chunk of your notes," she commented, pointing to the part that he'd ripped out.

"If anyone asks, I'll blame you," he told her.

"Hey!" she protested, pulling away from him and hitting him.

"Ow!" he whined.

Jacob laughed, shaking his head at the two of them. "You guys are cute together," he said, his eyes shining playfully as he looked between the two of them.

Kevin blushed.

Sunhee just laughed, and mock-glared at Jacob. "Thanks, I guess," she said. She checked the time on her phone and frowned. "I gotta run now. I don't want to be late."

"I can drive you," Kevin said quickly, standing up.

Jacob looked at him in confusion. "Don't you also have to go to work?"

"You... you work at Mark's on weekdays too?" Sunhee asked, her heart dropping for some reason. She wanted to get him out of that house and into an art studio where he belonged. She trusted that Mark would treat him fine... but not his parents. His parents were stuck up and rude. They'd changed, so, so much.

"Hey, why are you making that face?" Kevin said gently, bopping her nose. "Don't look so worried. I've been working there for a while. I'm used to it."

She smiled at him, nodding, though she couldn't shake her confused feelings.

He just deserved better. He was talented, he should be in a studio drawing and painting. He should be having galleries and selling his art. He should be singing with that beautiful hidden voice of his. He was an artist, and he should be doing that.

But he was stuck doing Mark's laundry.

And her? She knew that photography was her love. And she was stuck in the fast food place, taking orders.

Neither of them were doing what they loved, or deserved.

She waved at Kevin and Jacob, giving them a small smile before running out, heading to work.
