"Can I move in with you? Can I be your new roommate?"

Kevin stared at his phone contact, checking to make sure he was seeing and hearing right. "Sunhee? Miss 'stranger danger'? You want to move in with me?"

He heard her sigh over the phone and couldn't help smiling, picturing her annoyed face.

"Yes, I want to move in. Can I?"

"Sure," he said, trying to sound nonchalant , though for some reason his heart was suddenly beating faster. "I'll text you the address. When are you moving-"

"I'll be there tonight," she said, cutting him off.

He blinked, certain he'd heard wrong. "Tonight? Don't you have to... pack?"

"What do you think I've been doing while talking to you? I'll be done in an hour or two. It's not like I have much to pack anyway."

He looked around his apartment, figuring that he could also pack his minimal items in a couple hours. He shrugged, then realized she couldn't see him. "Sure. Of course, come tonight," he said, ignoring the annoying fluttering of his heart.

"Thank you," she said, a world of relief in her voice.

As soon as she hung up, Kevin sent her the address and then got up from his desk, ready to start cleaning. The place was clean, but not guest ready clean. He didn't want her to think he was a slob.

A part of him wondered why he should care about what she thought. Sunhee, the girl he met yesterday. The girl he barely knew. The girl who had a crush on his boss.

Now, why was he thinking about that?

Shaking his head, he grabbed the cleaning materials and set to work. He wasn't sure how much time passed as he cleaned, singing to himself as he did so. But suddenly the doorbell rang.

Surely it couldn't be her yet? Maybe it was Jacob. Sometimes they went to each other's houses unexpectedly.

He opened the door, and almost dropped his cleaning supplies.

"You... you got here faster than expected."

She didn't say anything, just raised an eyebrow at him.

He looked down at himself, at the apron he was wearing. It had giant ladybugs on it.

He'd seen it on sale a while ago, and had thought it was cute. And now here he was, a part of him regretting that decision.

"Not a word," he warned, letting her in. He closed the door and put the cleaning supplies down, taking off the apron.

"I wasn't gonna say anything," she teased. "I was just gonna comment on how cute you looked."

Kevin felt himself blushing, which annoyed him. Gosh... why was he being like this today?

"Not that I'm not happy to have you, but why'd you have to move so suddenly?"

She blinked at him, hesitating for a moment. "I got kicked out," she finally said, angry tears filling her eyes.

At the sight of her tears, he reached forward, pulling her into his arms. He felt her tense up, and immediately pulled away.

"Sorry!" He exclaimed, looking down at her in concern. "It's just... I... hugs. You know?"

She laughed, wiping at her eyes. This time, she stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest.

"Hugs are nice," she mumbled into his chest. "Thank you. Thank you so much."

He was suddenly worried that she might be able to hear that his heart was suddenly beating faster. Again.

Trying to ignore that, he wrapped on arm around her and used the other to play with her hair. "I should be the one thanking you," he admitted. "I'm not sure what I would have done if I hadn't found a roommate."

She leaned back a little, not enough to be out of his embrace, but enough to look up at him and flash that pretty smile of hers.

"So everything worked out perfectly then," she said brightly. "It's like fate."
