Fire. That's what Davi felt, running through her veins like hot lava. She hadn't felt this feeling since Ben and Aneesa had begun flirting. And the same thing had made it happen. "Do you like Davi? Is that it?" Aneesa had said. And Davi, Davi had wanted to know. She had hoped that he would say yes. But it didn't matter anyway. The one thing that did matter was the guilt. Why did she want him to say yes? She was dating Paxton. Paxton H-Y.

Davi took a gulp of air and smiled, thinking of Paxton.

Paxton, who was sitting right across from her, smiling at her. Who was also looking very uncomfortable sitting at her table, the "dorky" table. Also Paxton who was badly ignoring Trent and his other friends giving him the evil eye. And Zoe puckering her lips and giving flirty eyes. Davi made a quick face at Zoe before turning back to her food.

"Here comes the airplane!" Said Aneesa. Ben shoved her hand away playfully. "I'm not a baby you know." He said laughing. "I'm sure you were a very cute baby." Said Aneesa. "Actually, Ben would probably win the prize of world's snottiest baby." Said Davi, thinking back on a photo she had seen on Ben's phone of him turning his nose up to carrots as a baby. Ben and Aneesa stared at her. "What? It was a joke, jeez." Said Davi, stuffing food in her mouth. "Anyway, did you guys hear about the spring ball? I'm on the planning committee." Said Aneesa.

"The spring ball? Just after the winter ball?" Asked Paxton. "You bet! And it's going to be the best event all year." Aneesa smiled at Ben through her lashes. Davi squeezed her juice carton so hard that it exploded, spraying juice all over Aneesa and Ben. Aneesa squealed and began patting her clothes with a napkin.

"Sorry Aneesa, I just have a really strong grip." Said Davi, flexing her fist. A strange wave of heat crawled across her body as Ben looked up at her. Davi realized that this was the first time his eyes had torn away from Aneesa's. Had looked at her. All day. A sense of power plowed through her thoughts. "I'm sure you have abs of steel." Said Ben sarcastically. Davi playfully rolled her eyes, but when he looked away, a smile slid onto her face. Bantering.

During class Mr. Shapiro called on Aneesa. "The answer is-" Began Aneesa. "The answer is 1989." Said Davi. She didn't know why she did it, she just did. Aneesa glanced over at her and Davi gave her a grin that read "haha, Davi: 1 Aneesa: 0". "Alright everyone, partner up and research!" Said Mr. Shapiro, clapping his hands together. "Hey Ben, do you maybe want to-" Started Aneesa, curling a lock of her short hair.

"Hey Ben! I would LOVE to be your partner." Said Davi in a sugary sweet voice. "Are you in a fight with Paxton or something, because I'm not being an anger attachment." Said Ben. "Anger attachment?" Asked Davi. "Someone used to make someone else jealous." Said Ben in his cocky tone. Davi placed her hands on her hips. "I'm the best offer you'll get." Davi gave Aneesa a side eye.

Paxton stared at Davi, annoyance flickering on his face. Why was she ditching him for Ben? He was insecure enough with his friends all mad at him. He had made a commitment for Davi, so she better be all in.

Eleanor waved Davi, Fabiola, and Aneesa over. "Here are some awesome dress ideas. Ooooh! This one is perfect for you!" Said Eleanor, pointing to Aneesa. "Orange is my favorite color." Said Ben, peeking over Aneesa's shoulder. Aneesa grinned at him and leaned over. Davi rolled her eyes and looked away. "Maybe it's not your color." Said Davi. Aneesa pulled back, her eyes filled with hurt. Aneesa left with Ben, whispering in his ear, which caused a pang of jealousy to Davi. "Wow, what was that Davi?" Asked Eleanor.

"Yeah, you haven't been very nice to Aneesa all day. What's going on?" Asked Fabiola. Davi paused. What was going on? Aneesa hadn't done anything to Davi. Except date Ben. "What's wrong with orange?" Asked Fabiola. "Oh. My. God. Do you like BEN?! Screamed Eleanor. "What?!" Asked Paxton, coming in right behind Davi. Davi turned to see fury in his face. Oh crap.
