It's Official
*Three Months Later, September*
Lindsey had officially moved out of Stevie's house two weeks after he told Stevie the truth about himself. He and John had moved into a condo together and that's where they have been living since.
The divorce papers were signed and now all involved were just waiting for the divorces to be finalized. Lindsey and John payed extra to have the finalization of their divorces rushed.
Now that Sara had gone back to school in August, Stevie spent most of her time with Dylan in the hospital and had been staying with him most nights. When she wasn't at the hospital, she was at home writing, drawing painting, but mostly writing and sitting at her piano.
Dylan's condition remained the same; he wasn't getting any worse but, he wasn't getting any better either. Stevie continued to pray for a miracle. She wasn't going to give up on her son.
Another development was that Christine moved in with Stevie. Also the twins moved in as well. Their school was close by so they didn't have to worry about missing any classes.
Christine had gone to Stevie and they both had a night of drinking some wine and talking about what their soon to be ex husband's were putting them through.
Christine confessed that she didn't want to live alone at her home. Yes, she had her girls, but she needed someone who knew how she was feeling and she needed her best friend. Plus, she knew Stevie wasn't handling things well now that Sara was gone so, she wanted to be there for Stevie as well.
Stevie of course agreed and Christine and her girls settled into Stevie's home.
The twins would visit John at his and Lindsey's condo on the weekends and though they were angry at their father for hurting their mother, they still loved him and missed him.
Sara was eighteen, so she chose not to see Lindsey or speak to him. She wasn't ready to accept her father's choices just yet, so she stayed away.
One Friday afternoon, Stevie and Christine were eating lunch at home. They were interrupted by the phone ringing.
Christine stood up and answered it. She spoke for a few moments, then returned.
Stevie looked at Christine and noticed her expression. "Who was it?" She asked.
Christine sighed and said. "Well...I think it's time we should book a singles cruise." She tried to joke, but she realized right away that not even she could joke about something like this. "It's official. We're divorced. It was our lawyers to let us know."
"Oh..." Was all Stevie said.
Stevie looked down at her food and pushed it around, her appetite was now gone. She sighed and pushed her plate away. Stevie didn't want to cry but the tears came. She looked away from Christine, then stood up.
"I'll be in my room." Stevie said. "I'll...I'll see you later."
"Stevie, don't go." Christine said before Stevie could leave the room. "Please."
Stevie turned to face Christine and tears rolled down her cheeks. Christine quickly rushed to Stevie's side and hugged her, her own tears rolling her cheeks. Stevie sobbed as she held Christine tightly.
"It's okay." Christine soothed. "We will get through this together."
