I Got It
*Two weeks later*
Things had been going okay for Stevie; she has pushed through her heartache as best she could. She was talking to some of her friends again and having lunch with a few of them.
Stevie's best friend Tom Petty had started to come around and Stevie found comfort in having him close.
The only thing that dampened her days was she had come down with a stomach bug and she had been vomiting at all hours of the day for the past two weeks. She was reluctant to go see a doctor. She was afraid of what they would tell her what was wrong.
Stevie sat on the floor of the bathroom; she leaned against the tiled wall close to the toilet.
Stevie held her belly with both hands and tears rolled down her cheeks. She had a hunch of what was wrong but, she wasn't 100% sure if her hunch was correct.
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
She wiped her tears then said weakly. "Come in."
Christine opened the door and walked inside the bathroom.
"I got it." Christine said as she pulled something out of a brown paper bag. "I'll leave you to it." She handed it to Stevie then said. "I'll wait for you in your room."
"Okay." Stevie said as she stood up.
Christine left the bathroom, leaving Stevie staring at the box in her hands.
It was a home pregnancy test; Stevie had noticed the changes to her body and came to the conclusion, she may be pregnant.
She had told Christine her suspicions and Christine ran out to buy Stevie a test.
Stevie took the test then placed it on the counter. She had to wait fifteen minutes before the test would give her a result.
She washed her hands then splashed water on her face. She dried her hands and face then walked out of the bathroom.
Stevie walked over to the bed where Christine had been waiting.
"How long do we have to wait?" Christine asked.
"Fifteen minutes." Stevie said.
It was quiet for a moment then Stevie began to sob silently. Christine noticed then pulled Stevie into a hug.
"What am I going to do if I am pregnant, Christine?" Stevie asked. "Aren't I too old? What if I'm not and I have a serious illness? If I am, what do I tell Lindsey? Oh god, Lindsey..."
"Shhhh..." Christine said as she rubbed Stevie's back. "Let's take this one step at a time. It's going to be okay. Calm down okay?"
Stevie held onto Christine and tried her best to calm down. She was so nervous and scared.
Stevie finally was able to stop crying and before she knew it, it was time to check the test.
Stevie requested that Christine accompany her to the bathroom. She wanted her their for support. They both walked into the bathroom and Stevie took a deep breath then picked up the pregnancy test.
Stevie began to sob again when she saw the bright pink plus sign indicating a positive result.
