Lindsey Adams Buckingham wakes up to see his wife sleeping peacefully in his arms. They had a nice romantic night together and after making love they fell asleep in each other's arms.

Lindsey smiles a sad smile at her just thinking that some time soon, he is going to break his wife's heart.

Stephanie Lynn Nicks, who she by her nickname Stevie, was the girl he thought he fell in love with. But truthfully, he married her to cover up his secret. He does care deeply for her and loves her but, he just isn't in love with her.

Lindsey met his wife at a church youth group get together when he was sixteen years old, Stevie was seventeen. He couldn't help but instantly taking a liking to her. He found her very beautiful and just wanted to get to know her better.

On Stevie's point of view, when she first saw him at that church group get together, she couldn't help but fall madly in love with Lindsey. They sang a song together called California Dreaming and Stevie felt this instant connection.

As the years passed, Stevie and Lindsey saw more of each other until Lindsey asked Stevie to be his girlfriend. He just couldn't help but love her and he wanted to make it official for the world to know that Stevie was his girlfriend.

Some time later, they both decided to move to California so they could make their dream of becoming singers and start their music careers together.

It was a rocky beginning and their album, Buckingham Nicks was dropped from the record company they were signed to. Stevie had to work as a waitress and cleaning lady just to keep a roof over their heads, hardly having any money to eat.

But one fateful day, Mick Fleetwood of the band Fleetwood Mac called Lindsey after hearing the album Buckingham Nicks and well, Stevie's and Lindsey's lives were changed forever.

Stevie and Lindsey married in 1976. Drama did ensue between them during the recording of their second album with Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, and their marriage was close to ending.

But, the couple got through that rough patch and their marriage had managed to survive.

In October of 1978, Stevie and Lindsey welcomed their daughter Sara Elizabeth into the world and in March of 1980, they welcomed their second child, Dylan James.

They've now have been married for twenty years and for Lindsey it's been both the happiest and saddest years of his life.

He loves his family dearly but for the past ten years, he has been living a lie. He fell in love with someone else and because he was married and has children with Stevie, he just couldn't bring himself to be with the person he loved.
So, for the past ten years, Lindsey has been having an affair with that person.

It wasn't until a year ago, that Lindsey decided to just tell his truth to the world.

A year ago, Lindsey's and Stevie's lives changed forever and they were in a horrible car accident that was caused by a drunk driver.

Because of that near death experience, Lindsey wanted to live the rest of his life to the fullest without any more secrets. He knew that he would break Stevie's heart but, he needed to be true to to himself and be with the one he truly loves.

Just finished watching the first season of Grace and Frankie and this story is loosely based on the show.
