Chapter 8

Calum's Point Of View

I groan deeply, stretching my limbs out on the bed and wrapping my arms tighter around Montana. "You are a mystery, you know that Miss Cases?" I whisper, burying my face in the hollow of her neck.

Sunlight was streaming in through the curtains, lighting up her body wrapped up in the sheets next to me. She giggles, wrapping her legs around my waist. "You're something else too, Mr. Hood."

I felt like a high-school girl, mulling over the first amazing date I've had in years last night. She had made me forget all my worries, it's as if she contained a whole world within her, one where you left your demons at the door. She had a mind I craved to explore, I wanted to witness every emotion that could ever cross her beautiful face and touch every part of her.

"Are you sore like I promised you you'd be?" I ask. Not something the guy my temporarily present mother raised would ask, but something the jackass band member would.

"and more." She grins, blinking the sleep out of her eyes, she was too high on the feeling to read into it.

She had an alluring, exotic beauty to her, my words wouldn't ever do her justice. Her sarcasm was even better.

"You're beautiful," I grunt, nudging my nose against the spot just below her ear. I didn't have words for what was happening to me either. You'd think we would have an array of more words for these feelings in the 21st century instead of "fucking lit dude" but looks like everyone enjoys being speechless.

She pulls me closer and brings her soft lips to mine and I feel my core melt for about the millionth time in the last few hours. I should have left. She dominated my entire existence in one night like no other woman ever has. I really should have fucking left.

"Calum..." she murmurs into my lips.

"Yes, darling?"

"I just cleared my entire morning schedule." She mumbles, trailing kisses down my neck.

I couldn't help but laugh "For what?" I cup her soft face in my callused hand.

"You know for what v-very well." She moans as I pepper kisses down her neck.

Montana runs her hands up my back, dragging her nails. Her touch drove me crazy and I was the fool that was going to keep letting her.

"You asked for it, baby," I growl, pulling her flush against me.

Sierra's Point of View

My family was currently seated around my living room. Mother had kept true to her word and dragged my father and brother to New York on a seven-hour flight, overnight. I was excited to see them even though I didn't have the time, especially my brother.

"You're so tall now, Danny." I gush over my baby brother as he cuddles into my side on the couch.

"I'm the tallest in my class! I miss you a lot, though." He pouts.

"I missed you too. Guess what, though?"

"What?" He asks me animatedly.

"I have the most amazing birthday present for you," I whisper, hugging him to my side.

His eyes widen. "What is it?"

"You'll have to wait till tomorrow, bud."

"But I wanna see it now!" He starts to whine.

"Danny, behave yourself!" Mom chastises him.

The moment she walked into the house, she saw Addy and hasn't left her side ever since. They kept talking excitedly about god only knew what. Dad was on the phone, as usual, giving out orders to whoever was unlucky enough to be on the other end of the line.

Troye had stayed up all night to finish an assignment for his history professor so he had passed out on the couch the second he sat down. It was nice having my family all in one place.

Dad finishes his phone call and plops down next to me, throwing a hand over my shoulder. "So, tell us what we missed munchkin." I decide to tell them about work and the tour, careful to leave out the drama with Luke.

"You've been keeping busy. I'm proud of you." Dad says, beaming.

"Yes. We'll be leaving the day after tomorrow." My mom intercepts like she didn't want any further proof on whether her daughter was screwing around or not.

"You guys can stay as long as you want. I've got no problem." I offer, seeing that they are already here.

Dad gives me a sad look. "I'm flying to Spain after this so we can only stay for two days, sweetheart."

"It's okay. At least I get to celebrate with Danny tomorrow." I grin.

"We should call everyone! Ashton and the band." Addy exclaims.

"I like that idea." My mom agrees quickly, ever the enthusiast of feeding big crowds of people.

"Sure," I smile at them. Not wanting to ruin their moment.

As long as there's no Luke around to ruin it.

Luke's Point Of View

Getting out of the shower and wrapping a towel around my waist, I walk into the bedroom. I had the worst headache and it actually felt like I woke up with Amnesia, no pun intended.

"Holy fuck she's engaged, man." I hear Michael whisper to the other two.

"She was cheating on him," Calum replies, sounding agitated.

"What are you all bickering about?" I ask, making them jump.

Ashton bangs the laptop screen closed suddenly. "Nothing man, just some celeb chick."

"Let me see." I extend my hand, wondering what they were hiding from me. "Nah dude it's nothing, go change will you? You're dripping wet." Michael wrinkles his nose, trying to change the topic.

"But don't you like seeing me dripping wet?" I smirk.

All three of them looked tensed like springs stretched tight.

"Are you gonna tell me what you're hiding from me or should I find out for myself?" I knew the boys and their reactions better than I knew anyone. Michael drops his face into his hands, defeated and annoyed. "Just show him, Ash."

I walk over to the couch, still wrapped in the towel and looking over Ashton's shoulder "Man, you don't have to see this. It's not important." He mutters.

"Just open the damn screen, Irwin." I snap. It couldn't be that big of a deal. They needed to chill out.

He opens it all the way with a sigh. It takes me a moment to focus on the screen and read the lines.

"Exclusive pictures from Ana Sacoma and Jamie Jackwalls engagement party here!"

The world spins and the words on the screen blur all of a sudden. "What...No—this is just stupid gossip." My heart rate speeds up.

She wouldn't.

"No man, there are pictures," Calum tells me sadly, coming to my side as Ashton scrolls down.

There she was. Smiling like she was the happiest she has ever been.

"But she... She told m–me that she...maybe it's photoshopped." I look around at my band mates, not knowing what to do with myself.

"Are you telling us you didn't know about this Luke?" Michael scoffs with a bewildered expression.

"Why the hell did you two break up then?" He continues with the questions when I don't answer.

This can't be happening.

I shrug Calum's hand off my shoulder and walk as fast as I can back into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. The world was spinning, spinning...

"Luke! Open the door!" I hear them yell.

"Go away." I croak out.

I can't tell them why. I can't tell anyone.

How are you happy Ana? You left us all behind...

---

We decide to decorate the house with balloons and all the streamers we could find in my storage boxes. "Monti, can you pass me that tape?"

"Sure babe," Montana smiles, she was glowing. Actually glowing with happiness. She hadn't called me after her date night yesterday but had come rushing in this afternoon to find my family here so she had withheld the information but I assume it has gone extremely well.

So here we were, getting ready for the birthday party tonight while my parents had left to do some shopping and dragged Troye with them. They weren't that fond of him back when we were in London but is now considering adopting him too. I was happy that my parents got along with my friends.

Adelaide and Montana had stayed back to help me decorate and set up all the food. "We need to make a checklist of all the things we need for the tour next week." Addy murmurs her attention partially on the screen in front of her.

"That's a good idea." I hum, thinking about all the things I had to pack and buy. Yikes. I was never a light packer so this was going to be a guaranteed struggle for me.

"Guys, we're actually going on a tour together. How amazing is that?" Montana gushes excitedly.

"It is pretty cool." I agree, taping the last balloon up and admiring it from afar.

"Well, I guess we can start—" A phone starts to ring and it's Addy's.

"Hey, babe!" She brightens like the sun but it soon dies down. "What's wrong?"

I get off the stool. Montana and I move to her side, giving her questioning looks.

"Yeah it's fine if you can't make it, we understand."

Oh.

"Wait, what do you mean he found out? Didn't he already know?" Addy gives us a worried look.

"Okay, sure love. Call us if you need anything."

"What's wrong?" I blurt out when she puts her phone down.

She hesitates. "Luke saw Ana's engagement pictures. Ash says from the looks of it, he didn't know they were even together."

"How could he not know? This stuff isn't exactly private when it comes to this industry." Montana states.

"I don't know but he's locked himself up in the bathroom and won't come out."

Oh, Luke.

"I have to get over there," I say mindlessly, rushing to get my bag.

"No, Sierra, you can't." Addy stops me with a hand at my arm.

"Why not? I can talk to him." I shrug her off. "Do you really think he'll talk to you right now? He'll just get angry at you, just like he always does. Let the boys deal with him okay? This is not your call." She reasons. My blood was rushing through my veins and I could feel myself panicking for him.

"Fine," I mutter, heading to my room instead. Montana follows me a couple of steps before I stop in my tracks to face her. "Sierra, I know what you're thinking right now but hear me out, stop caring about this guy okay? He is not your problem to solve or fix. This is your job and nothing more."

"I know that alright?" Why was everyone telling me he didn't care? I happened to know that perfectly well myself.

"Then why did your face look like that the moment Addy said that?" she motions.

"I know you and I know how much you care about people baby girl but this is not acceptable, you hear me? You can't care about him. We're practically just strangers who work for him."

"I need to make a call," I mumble, walking off. I didn't care if he wasn't my problem, I was going to get him help.

Luke's Point Of View

The world was spinning, tilting off its axis.

I watch the vapor on the mirror running down, leaving a long path behind it as it goes.

She had the decency to take away something that was mine and then start a new life with another man while I spent the last year moping around, embarrassing myself and the people who were trying to help me. You weren't good enough.

My anger was seeping out through my pores. I felt like I was trapped in a cage of my own wrong doings. You can either sit here and be a sissy or you can go screw her over, tell the world.

My anger overwhelmed the sadness I felt inside. I wanted to ruin things. Tear everything apart with my own bare hands but no, I had more self-control than this before.

Fix yourself.

I would never give her the satisfaction of seeing me break. I wouldn't let her take that away from me too, just like she did everything else. I had so much I wanted to say and feel but my thoughts were always too loud, too loud.

I get up off the bathroom floor, open the door and walk out to see the other three seated on the other side of the door. "Luke, oh thank god." Calum gets up.

"Don't do that man you scared the shit out of us!" Michael runs a hand through his hair.

"She's not worth it, mate," Ashton tells me plainly, dropping his arms to his sides with sadness.

"Please, don't say another word about her, ever again. This conversation ends here and don't ask me about her and I promise you, I will try to get my shit together. We have a tour to go on in a week and fans to make up too."

Sierra's face flashes through my mind for a second and I blink rapidly. My band looks at me with equal shocked expressions but nod without another word. My defense mechanisms were finally kicking in.

Anger did that to people, it drove you forward. But I knew how this worked, all this pent up anger would burst out of me one day and everyone who did this will have to pay for their crimes.

Until then.
