Chapter 47
"Last night I dreamt, that somebody loved me. No hope no harm just another false alarm."

The truck drives through a large iron gate and rumbles up a red brick road leading up to a beautiful Victorian style house. Trees cover the entire perimeter of the land, the grass now covered in layers of snow. There is smoke rising out of the top of the chimney, vines and plants creeping up the sides of the walls. It looked like a dream.
"It looks a bit creepy," Montana whispers under her breath when the truck sputters to a stop. Ashton opens the door and we all get out behind him. Michael and Calum get off the bed of the truck, their jaws probably threatening to fall off with the speed at which their teeth are chattering.
The old man who we have come to know is named Fred, takes one look at the freezing boys and waves his hand. "Come on then, hurry, let's get ya inside."
Luke finds my hand in the frenzy and pulls me behind him as we walk up the slope to the house. It is a big land, and there is a smaller looking cottage on the left side towards the back, I'm assuming that's the guest house Fred was talking about earlier. To the right, there is a shiny surface on the ground, and I stare at it with utter joy. A frozen pond good enough for skating on.
The man opens the heavy wooden door and we step into a large space, scuffing our feet on the ground so we don't get dirty snow in his home.
Wooden beams hold up the ceiling over us, windows high above the ground casting dim light into the living room. Tapestries cover the walls on all sides and there is a fireplace crackling in the middle of the room, warming us all instantly.
An old woman is seated on an antique couch with a newspaper in her hands, she looks up surprised at a number of people that just walked into her house.
"Honey, these children were stranded in the middle of the road, I told 'em they can stay at the guest house for a coupla days," Fred smiles warmly, going to kiss his wife on the forehead. She brightens like the sun at his words and stands up with a bit of his help, holding her back.
"Welcome! Welcome! Oh, it's so lovely to have guests." She gushes, taking off her thin framed glasses to let them hang around her neck on a silver chain.
Dave rushes Calum and Michael towards the fireplace at Fred's orders and his wife slowly makes her way to us.
She reaches me first, taking me in her frail arms she hugs me and kisses my cheek, making me grin like a child. "Aren't you a beauty, oh darling welcome to our good ol' home."
"It's very nice to meet you, ma'am," I say as she drags her eyes away from me and sees Luke who still has a hold of my hand. "Oh nonsense, call me Sally." She chuckles and stares at our intertwined hands, a toothless grin forming on her face. "Young couples give me hope in this very—disturbing generation. You will have such beautiful children!" She exclaims with a little cough and lays her hand on her chest.
Luke's eyes go wide at this comment, a painful expression crossing his face. Ashton clears his throat and introduces himself, making Sally move her attention to them, she hugs everyone and urges us to take our jackets off and to take a seat.
She skitters off in the other direction, murmuring about coffee and biscuits when we settle down on the couches around the fireplace. There are heaters around the house but getting that extra warmth into our systems made it even better.
"G! Come down here will ya? We've got guests!" Fred calls up from the foot of a wooden staircase leading up into the other floors of the big house.
The sound echoes through the walls and we hear footsteps above us. I raise my head to look up as a beautiful girl jogs down the staircase. She is in jeans and a white t-shirt. Her hair is dyed lilac and she has them braided at her sides. She has one ear bud in and is looking down intently at a thick book in her hands.
"Everyone, this is my granddaughter, Georgia." Fred beams like she is his pride and joy and Michael who is sat next to me, gasps, blinking a couple of times "Are you okay?" I ask worriedly when he starts to mouth her name.
"Georgia," Michael says loudly and the girl whips her head up to look at the guests she hasn't seen yet, her brown eyes trying to locate Michael's voice.
"Georgia?" Calum raises an eyebrow with a confused smile and Montana who is sat on the arm of the couch rolls her eyes, whispering. "Did you sleep with her too?"
"Michael!" Georgia's eyes widen when they find him and the book in her hands drop to the ground with a thud as he shoots up like a bullet from where he is sat. My jaw hangs all the way to the ground when he takes three large steps towards her and wraps her up in his arms.
What on earth...
"Georgie!" Ashton and Luke start to cheer as well, leaving everyone else in the room confused and shocked at the sudden turn of events.
"You know each other?" I ask confused as Michael buries his face in the hollow of her neck and spins her around in his arms, making her squeal.
"Back in the day when we lived in London for awhile, she was our neighbour," Luke explains with a grin and Fred eyes us, a bit annoyed at the sudden affection Michael was showing his granddaughter.
Sally walks back into the room followed by a maid who is carrying a tray of steaming cups of coffee. The maid hands us each a cup and I wrap my hands around it, feeling the warmth spreading through my fingers.
"The world is awfully small today," Addy says with a laugh as Michael and Georgia pull away from their embrace. She nods when he says something in her ear that the rest of us can't hear.
"It's so good to see you, boys, again." She smiles at the band and they stand up to greet her. She welcomes us all warmly, Michael never taking his eyes off of her all the while.
"I should go back for our things. I still can't get a hold of anyone." Dave says and Fred agrees, pulling his coat back on to head out again.
Laughs and chatter fill the large house as the boys reminisce about old times. Michael sits back down next to me and breathes heavily, his eyes following the girl with the warm brown eyes and lilac hair as she laughs at something Ashton says.
"Her parents sent her away to boarding school." He says, rubbing his eyes and shaking his head with a harsh laugh.
"—and to this day, I didn't know what happened to her. We went to the states and when we got back, she was gone. I thought she hated me and that's why she packed everything up and left." Michael murmurs.
"But now you know what really happened." I pat his leg and sip my coffee, happy at the turn of events and that the world was so awfully small today.
"Now I know." He agrees as Sally appears back in the room with a heap of linens in her arms.
"Leida, please show our guests to the guest house so they can get some rest," Sally orders the maid but Georgia volunteers to do it instead.
We finish the coffee and grab our coats, following her through one of the back doors and into the huge back yard outside. I duck my head a little as the cold wind whips my hair in my face, stinging my skin again.
We trudge up the stone path leading to the small house quickly, it is lined by tall trees that have Christmas lights strung up among them tinkling in the harsh wind.
"Grandma and Grandpa always have guests around this time of year so we just finished cleaning up the rooms in there yesterday," Georgia explains, opening the door with a large metal key.
The smell of cinnamon overtakes my senses as we walk into a small cosy living room with a fireplace and a television above the mantel. There is a kitchen with a round dining table smack in the middle of it and corridors leading to the left and right.
"There are five rooms in here, they aren't that big but big enough. You guys can use all of it as you wish." She smiles and I venture through the right corridor, peeking into the different rooms. The entire house is like a cosy cottage.
"Why are none of our phones working?" I hear Luke ask.
"It usually works pretty well, it's because of the snow I guess, it's blocking out the waves. It should be up and working tomorrow if the weather clears." Georgia tells him as I walk into a room at the very corner of the corridor. There is a medium sized bed and a dresser, a bathroom with a large white tub and a window looking out into a forest of snow coated evergreen trees at the very back of the estate.
I put my coat on the bed to mark it as a taken room and go back out into the living room, Luke has his hand raised above his head, holding up his phone to try and get better reception.
"I'm sorry I disappeared on you guys. When I got back from boarding school, you had moved out of there and were kind of a big deal. I had no way of contacting you." She worries, mostly directing her explanation towards Michael.
Michael fumbles with his words. "It's not your fault. I shouldn't have stopped trying to get in touch with you."
Georgia gives him a weak smile and rummages through the cupboards, setting down boxes of tea and sugar on the counter for us. "Are you guys staying for awhile?"
"Our bus broke down, we have a show tomorrow night in Leeds so not really," Luke says worriedly and I go to stand between his legs while he's sat on top of the long kitchen counter.
He smooth's my windblown hair and lays his chin on top of my head. "What are we going to do?" He asks me with a silent sigh and I run my hands up and down his denim clad legs in a soothing motion.
"I'm sure management will figure something out." I kiss his chin and he wraps his arms around me. The snow has to clear up sometime during the night, they will send for the boys soon.
He blows air out of his mouth. "Let's hope so."
---
I stare out the kitchen window at the falling snow, worried. It was starting to get worse. "Do you think Fred and Dave are okay? What if they got stuck or something?"
Home Alone is playing on the television screen and everyone is sat around watching quietly since there is nothing much to do. Michael and Georgia disappeared back into the main house awhile ago.
"It's Dave. If he can brave through fangirls for five years, he can brave through a little snow." Calum points out as the front door opens and a man with a shiny bald head walks in, covered in about two layers of snow from head to toe.
"Is everyone staying warm?" Dave asks sarcastically and the room takes a visible breath of relief.
"Told you." Calum chuckles and we move to take the suitcases from him.
"The others are in the house." He says grumpily and Ashton, Calum, and Luke grab their coats, leaving to get the rest of the cases.
"Any news?" Addy asks while Dave shrugs off his snow filled coat, walking closer to a heater.
"The bus was still dead in the snow when we got there. I managed to get a hold of Sammy, and by what I could make out, the rest managed to get to Leeds safely."
"Thank god," Montana says and urges Dave to continue.
"Yes thank god, but you would think with the millions of money these boys have earned 'em, they would have means to get us out of here for the show tomorrow night. We're pretty much stuck here till the weather clears up."
