(Ash's POV)

I had just finished watching Alain's battle and IT WAS INSANE! He beat his opponent's Pokémon using only his Charizard. Also, he told me that he found a mega stone but he's not gonna use it yet. 

So somehow, these people are able to start the second round today. My battle is the 5th one. I'm facing a girl this time. I spot her and she's staring at me, nervously. I smile and then her face reddens. 

"That girl likes you!" I look to my left to see May, holding a devious grin on her face.

"What do you mean?" I ask. "Also, why was her face red?"

May slaps her forehead and leaves. Okay then.

Everyone makes their way to the stands after the matches have been announced. I just stay by the entrance of the tunnel. I watch the next four battles on TV and... they're not as interesting as Alain's battle.

I enter through the tunnel when my name gets called down. Then I'm in front of the huge crowd of people from before.

The referee explains the rules and then tells us to send out our Pokémon.

"Pikachu!" I say as Pikachu jumps off my shoulder. "I choose you!" It's wearing my Kanto hat.

"Uh, oh," The girl says as she throws a Pokéball. "Servine, let's do this!"

Servine appears and then the referee commences the battle.

"Start it off with a Thunderbolt!" I command.

"Leaf Storm!" She commands.

The attacks make contact but Pikachu's Thunderbolt is stronger and it starts its way for Servine. Thunderbolt hits Servine.

"SERVINE!!" She yells.

Servine is fine. Pikachu starts charging in for a Quick Attack.

"Let's end this!" I say.

"Catch it using Wrap!" 

Servine gets out of the way of Pikachu and then grabs it with its long tail. Pikachu is stuck.

"PIKACHU!!" I say.

"Finish this with Leaf Storm!"

Then an idea crosses into my mind. "Pikachu! Use Electro Ball on yourself!" 

Pikachu releases the Electro Ball. Servine is about to release its attack when Pikachu's attack hits it.

An explosion occurs and then quickly fades away. Servine's on the ground and Pikachu is standing tall.

"Servine is unable to battle!" The referee says. "Pikachu wins!"

Pikachu comes running to me. I stick out my arms as it jumps up and I catch it.

"THAT WAS AWESOME, PIKACHU!!" I happily yell.

"I'm done!" The girl says. "I forfeit!"

I'm shocked. Why? Just because she lost the first battle? The referee is about to say something when I speak up.

"Don't forfeit!" I softly say but loud enough for her to hear me. Her eyes are wide open with surprise in them. I continue on. "You fought all eight gym leaders of this region and have beaten them! Think about it! You put in ALL that time and effort into this league. So don't go down without a fight!"

Her face reddens as she smiles. "Thank you, Ash! Alright! Sylveon, let's do this!" She throws a Pokéball and Sylveon comes out.

"Noivern, I choose you!" I say, doing the same. Noivern appears. Then I hear a yell of excitement from Iris. That's probably because Noivern's a Dragon Type...

The referee starts the battle. 

"We have the type advantage! Use Moonblast!" Sylveon releases the said move.

"Use Acrobatics to dodge!" I say.

Noivern simply dodges the attack. Then it starts charging into Sylveon. 

"Use Dragon Claw!!" I say.

(3rd person of Ash's Friends) 

"What is he DOING?!" May yells.

"What do you mean?" Dawn asks.

"May's going crazy because Ash is using a Dragon type move on a Fairy type Pokémon." Gary states.

"I've traveled with Ash long enough to know he's got something else up his sleeve!" Clemont says.

"Then let's see it!" Bonnie says.

(Ash's POV)

Noivern starts powering up its Dragon Claw as it charges towards Sylveon.

"USE MOONBLAST!!" She yells.

"Dodge it and hit the ground with Dragon Claw!" Noivern dodges the moonblast and hits the ground near Sylveon, creating smoke that surrounds them.

"Wha-?" I hear her yell.

"Y'know here it is!" I say. "Now use Boom Burst!" I hear a battle cry from Noivern and the next thing I know, I see Sylveon being blasted out of the smoke. Sylveon hits the ground, fainted.

The smoke clears up and Noivern's standing strong!

"Sylveon is unable to battle, Noivern wins!" The referee says.

(3rd person of Ash's friends)

"So what was the point of that Dragon Claw?" Iris asks.

"Noivern can see anything through smoke using some sonic power..." Bonnie explains. 

"So Ash created smoke to use it as an advantage!" Serena says.

"Classic Ash!" Cilan says.

"THAT'S THE ASH I KNOW!!" Misty yells.

(Ash's POV)

I return Noivern. I'm about to send out Talonflame when...

"USE GRENINJA!!" She says. I look at her with surprise. If she wants to win, Greninja shouldn't be her request to battle against. "YOU AND GRENINJA ARE THE REASON I WENT ON AND COLLECTED THE KALOS GYM BADGES! YOU INSPIRED ME! SO PLEASE... USE GRENINJA..."

I smile and return Talonflame's Pokéball and bring out Greninja. She brings out her Absol.

The referee declares the battle to begin. 

"WE STARTED OUR JOURNEY BECAUSE OF YOU, ASH" Then I spot a mega ring on her left wrist and a mega stone on her Absol. "ABSOL, MEGA EVOLVE!!"

I feel a big wind of aura hit me. Then Absol is surrounded by mega energy and then a few seconds later, it mega evolves.

I command Greninja to "Use Double Team!" Hundreds of Greninja surround the battlefield. "Alright, now use Bond Katana!" 

Every Greninja starts charging towards Absol.

"Dodge every attack!" She commands. Absol starts running around the battlefield, somehow dodging every attack. Then every Greninja, except for the real thing, disappears. "Now use Play Rough!"

Greninja and Absol are now running at each other. Absol hits Greninja and it's super effective. 

"Use Aerial Ace!" I command.

Greninja hits Absol.

"Night Slash!" Absol is about to hit Greninja.

"Dodge and use Water Shuriken!" I command.

Greninja does what I say and then hits Absol with the Shuriken. Absol goes flying into the opposite direction.

"WE'RE NOT DONE YET!" She yells out. "USE PLAY ROUGH!!"

"USE GOLDEN WATER SHURIKEN!!"

Absol jumps at Greninja. Greninja's Water Shuriken gets bigger and bigger. Then its color turns into a shining gold. Greninja throws it at Absol. Luckily, Greninja hits Absol before Absol makes contact with it.

The battle ends. Once again, smoke appears. We wait for the smoke to clear up. 

Then... the winner is clear to see.
