"chapter 32- old times"

chapter 32-  old times"

"brooke called, she said you didn't show up for your interview." asher said to his father who was glued to the television, while he guzzled down a beer.

" i gave it some thought, i don't want to work for the madden's, that job is beneath me." his father chuckled.

" and lying around getting drunk isn't?" asher countered.

"hey, what is it with you? are you so scared of failing, you won't even try?" asher questioned.

"i'm not the loser who got his girlfriend stolen by his best friend & kicked off the football team." his father hissed taking another sip of his beer.

"you're not the only one who lost everything, i did too. but the difference is i'm still trying and you've given up." asher replied, raising his voice.

"you finished?" mr adams inquired.

"you don't want a loser for a son, well i don't want a loser for a father. do whatever you want, i'm done caring about you." asher said, exiting the room.

laura stood in the doorway while she listened to the twins joking around. she wiped the warm tears from underneath her eyes and prepared for what she was about to reveal to her offspring.

"mom, are you okay?" olivia asked and laura began to break down.

"no i'm not okay, sit down there's something i need to tell you both." laura sighed and began to disclose the dark truth and lies done at the hands of the twins father.

teenagers chugged illegal juice, while moving their bodies to the music. the twins entered chris' house still feeling the aftershock of what their mother had told them just a few hours prior. their dad cheated on their mom, and not with just any woman he found on the street or in a bar. but with spencer's mother.

olivia walked over to layla and sammy who were dancing in the corner, while jordan went over to get a much needed drink.

"hey i could really use some friends tonight." olivia stated sadly.

"yeah, what do you need." layla asked concerned, and sammy nodded in agreement.

"well a new father would be a good start, we just found out he had an affair with spencer's mom." olivia revealed.

"oh my god, what the fuck." sammy gasped and brooke suddenly stumbled over to the girls out of nowhere.

"olivia, you're here." brooke giggled, wrapping her arms around the baker girl.

"what did you drink, you smell like a mini bar." olivia groaned, trying to softly get out of brooke's drunken grasp.

"what bug crawled up your ass and died." brooke said sarcastically to olivia.

"i just found out that my dad had an affair with spencer's mom." olivia repeated.

"i'm so sorry, liv." brooke said, as her face softened.

"i'm sorry too liv, i know it was a long time ago but that doesn't make it hurt any less." layla said in an attempt to comfort the girl.

"wait you knew ?" olivia asked, confused.

"spencer told me yesterday." layla revealed.

"wait, spencer knew ?" sammy and brooke said in unison.

"liv, he just found out, and didn't know how to handle it." layla said, trying to defend her boyfriend.

"so why even try right?" olivia hissed, walking away and immediately telling jordan.

jordan then walked over to spencer and pushed him.

"you're a fucking hypocrite. you freaked out when you didn't know our parents dated back in high school, and now you keep this a secret." jordan hissed as spencer tried to regain his balance.

"look you're angry, i'm angry too." spencer said calmly.

"is that supposed to make me fucking feel better?" jordan questioned pushing spencer again.

"push him one more time and there's gonna be a problem." chris yelled and spencer pulled him back.

"you should've told me." jordan said, walking away.

brooke stumbled over to the keg grabbing another cup and filling it up. she brought the cup to her lips, before it was snatched away by asher.

"can i have my beer back." brooke asked.

"uh no." asher lightly chuckled.

"i can't have two people in my life going down the same hole, on the same day." asher added.

"what hole are you talking about, i just want to put the beer in that cup down my drinking hole." brooke slurred out.

"what's wrong brooke, can things just please be different this time between us? just talk to me, i'll listen." asher promised.

"why does there always have to be something wrong with me? i'm just having a good time." brooke argued.

"i know you, and somethings eating at you. i can tell." asher said, staring into brooke's eyes & brooke couldn't help, but fall for asher adam's even more.

brooke strolled over to layla who was sitting in the corner, and vividly not having a good time anymore.

"have you talked to liv?" brooke asked layla.

"nope she's been avoiding me all night." layla sighed.

"she'll come around, she's just upset." brooke assured.

"speaking of talking to people, you and asher back for more?" layla joked.

"it's not like that." brooke promised.

"just tell him you're madly in love with him already." layla insisted.

"is it that obvious?" brooke questioned and layla nodded.

"i don''t know, what if he doesn't feel that way about me anymore." brooke added.

"you remember when you and asher started to be a thing?" layla asked.

"yeah i swore you were never gonna talk to me again." brooke laughed.

"i really wanted to be pissed at you, but i couldn't bring myself to. you know why?" layla asked & brooke shook her head no.

"because asher never looked at me, the way he looks at you." layla revealed.

jordan stumbled towards the keg for another drink, and stepped on a south crenshaw boy's shoes in the process.

"ayo daddy's boy watch the kicks." the boy scoffed as he wiped his shoes off, and the whole party's attention turned to the boys.

"say that again." jordan said through his teeth.

"what part? the part about you stepping on my shoes or the part about you just being qb one because your daddys the coach." the boy hissed at jordan and jordan's fist then made direct contact with the boys face.

"can everyone chill the fuck out." brooke yelled while the boys pushed jordan & the kid he punched into opposite corners.

"ayo baker, tell your bitch to shut the fuck up." the boy yelled and jordan then charged at him again. only to the held back, once again.

"you know what it's time for all you beverly hills babies to go back to where you belong, partys over." chris yelled.

"it sucks when everyone crashes your world, and ruins everything. doesn't it?" jordan said to spencer before filing out of the party with the rest of the beverly teenagers.

"hey." brooke said, running over to asher who was about to get into his car.

"whats up?" asher asked.

"i was supposed to uber home with sammy, but now she's going back to jj's to hookup. so could you give me a ride." brooke nervously blurted out.

"yeah." asher said, walking over to the passenger side of the car and opening the door for brooke. he shut the door and then got into the driver's seat.

they then made it back to the madden residence, and asher walked brooke inside.

"it's so quiet in here." asher said.

"yeah, a mansion with one person living it. you can hear everything." brooke replied.

"i'm gonna take off." asher said, grabbing his keys.

"could you stay, i just don't really want to be alone tonight." brooke said softly and asher placed his car keys back down.

"i guess it's a little late for me to be driving home anyway." asher said, making brooke smile.

they both changed into pajamas, and asher laid on the floor while brooke laid in her bed.

"do wanna sleep up here?" brooke asked.

"are you sure?" asher questioned.

"yeah, there's plenty of room." brooke said, scooting over as asher climbed into the bed beside her.

they laid in the girls queen-sized bed back to back, before brooke abruptly sat up.

"are you okay?" asher said, mimicking her and sitting up too.

brooke turned her head over to look at asher, and her eyes immediately went to his lips. brooke tried to fight the urge, but she couldn't anymore. she pressed her lips onto ashers, and they both became lost within each other like old times. after a while they pulled apart, and brooke laid her head on asher's chest. asher held brooke tight as they both softly drifted to sleep.
