Chapter 23 - Dancing Queens

Nick's POV

I drive my flatmates back to our apartment where we all get changed into more casual clothes. It's the first night of the crazy weekend and The Squad decided we were going to go to go to the Volt tonight and the guys were really excited to go out in a larger group than their normal trio. We are not dressing up tonight, we are saving that for the large party we are going to tomorrow night.

Once we're ready, I drive the four of us to Charlie's apartment complex. I see Elle's car in a spot so I hurry my way upstairs, the guys right on my heels. We get to the door and I knock lightly. A few moments later, Charlie opens the door. He has ripped white jeans on with a black shirt and flannel. He has on a pair of new high top black converse. I give him a quick hug and kiss his cheek before I step to the side. "So now I can formally introduce you to my flatmates... This is Otis... Sai... and Christian. I know I have talked about them but you never truly introduced." I say and nervously laugh. Charlie gives a small wave before waving us into the room. "I will introduce you to everyone." He says, a bright smile on his face. I stand at the door, admiring him as he walks in and towards the common room.

I skip my way into the common room once Charlie introduces everyone and immediately the guys start mingling with everyone. "So let's order the cars so we can get going." Elle says and, with no fail, Imogen comes in from the kitchen with a large textbook with small shot glasses on it. She really likes to make sure everyone is ready to go before we actually go out. We all take the shot before Imogen pours everyone one more. "Better?" Imogen asks the group and everyone yells and claps in excitement.

I take Charlie's hand in mine as we are the last ones to walk out of the apartment. He locks the door with his key and we start to walk away and once we get halfway down the stairs, he stops in his tracks. "Did I lock the door?" Charlie asks. "Yes you did." I say. I am about to take the next step down but he lets go of my hand first. "Are you sure?" He asks, his arms wrap around his elbows. I look at him for a second and smile. "I am almost certain but why don't we check again just in case?" I suggest. He nods his head and quickly sprints up the stairs. I chase after him, unprepared for the speed he has. When he gets to the door, he tugs on the knob lightly. He unlocks it, opens the door, shuts it, and locks the door again. He lets out a relieved sigh and smiles. "Better?" I ask with a small smile on my lips. He nods his head. "Much better. I would not have stopped thinking about it until I came back here."

He takes my hand in his and starts to run down the staircase. When we get to the parking lot, two cars are pulling up and Elle is pointing and directing people to cars. "Finally!" Elle says and comes up to Charlie and I. "You guys are going with your flatmates. Otis is tracking that car now so we will see you at the bar!" She hugs Charlie tightly before taking Tao's hand as he guides her into the vehicle. The two cars drive away while we wait on the curb outside the apartment complex doors. Charlie makes small talk with them while I just stand there and kind of trail off. My body is starting to ache a little from the rugby match from today so I am starting to get a little drained.

"You okay?" Charlie asks, breaking me from my thoughts. I clear my throat before speaking. "Yeah, I'm okay. A little sore." I say and shrug my shoulders. "Let me give you a good old shoulder massage buddy." Christian says as he walks over to rub my shoulders. "Damn dude, you're tight." He says. I let out a small sigh before laughing. It actually felt really nice, even though it was only a few squeezes. He lets go after a few more squeezes, just in time for the car to pull up in front of us. We all hop in and Charlie tells them all about the bar since they have never been there before. I just look out the window until we get there.

We make our way inside and see our friends at the right side bar. Charlie takes my hand as he drags me to the group, I can hear him giggling a little while we jog. "I got you a vodka lemonade!" Tori says handing him a tall glass, the liquid shimmering slightly. "Nick, here." Imogen says, handing me a bottle of beer. I take a slow sip and smile. Elle hands my flatmates shots and smiles at them. They laugh before taking the shot quickly. "I got us a table in the front of karaoke bar!" Isaac says, skipping in from the back room. Good because I just want to sit down.

I wrap my arm around Charlie's shoulders as we walk to the table. I look down at him as his face starts to blush. I kiss his cheek softly before smiling at him. He wraps his arm around my waist until we get to the table. When we sit down, he sits hip to hip with me. His hand resting softly on my thigh which causes me to blush. I take my free hand and grab each of his legs, throwing them over my lap. When I look back at him, he's looking confidently up at me. He kisses my lips softly before sipping his drink again.

Darcy and Tara show up a few minutes after we sit down with full hands of shot glasses. They hand them out to every one of us before taking a seat in the only place they can find, the edge of the table. "So are we singing this time?" Imogen shouts over the group that's already on stage. Everyone just looks around at each other. "I will!" Charlie says, throwing his legs off my lap. I look over at him and he is glowing with happiness. Imogen comes and grabs his hand, dragging him to the stage. The remainder of the girls follow, including Tori. When she comes up behind him, I can see how shocked Charlie looks that she is joining.

"Nick you want another one?" Tao asks as he stands up. I hand him my empty bottle. "Yeah, thanks." I smile at him before he walks away. He comes back a few minutes later, just in time for our friends to get on stage. I can see how happy Charlie looks with one of the spotlights on him. The music starts playing softly and immediately people start to stand up at their tables getting ready to dance. Come Alive from The Greatest Showman. The group is really going for it and they are even dancing on stage which I did not expect and also they are surprising good as a large group. I can't help but smile as I keep my eyes on Charlie. He is having so much fun.

When the song is over, they all come running to the table. Each one of them out of breath. "That was so much fun!" Elle says as she sits down in Tao's lap, slightly out of breath. Charlie plops down next to me, taking his glass in his hand, before swinging his legs back over my lap. "Was I bad? Why are you smiling at me like that?" He asks me, him looking down at our legs. I place my now second empty bottle on the table before pressing my index finger under his chin so he has to look me in the eyes. I lean just a few inches from his lips. "That was amazing Char. You looked so good up there." I say, smiling brightly as I look all over his face. He leans forward and passionately kisses my lips for a few moments.

"Do you want to go get another drink with me?" He asks me when our lips separately. I kiss his cheek before I lift him up in my arms as I stand up. I take his hand in mine, intertwining our fingers together. We go to the bar in the karaoke section and order another round of drinks and a shot. I lift the shot glass in my hand and hand it to Charlie, his face flushing from the alcohol he already had, intertwines our arms together. We take our shot together, in our cute little arm twist just in time for our drinks to come. I take a sip of my beer and Charlie takes a sip of his vodka lemonade. "Do you want to dance?" Charlie asks, jumping slightly with excitement. "I can't dance." I say while I laugh. "I can't either but..." He moves the straw to the side and chugs his drink before placing it on the bar. "I think we can make the most of it." He whispers in my ear, his breath causing shivers to run down my back. I chug my beer before placing it on the bar, just in time for Charlie to grab my hand and drag me to the dance floor in the main section.

A party song mashup comes on right as we get through the crowd and find the biggest spot we could find. Charlie takes my hands and starts jumping up and down. He spins under our arms a few times before I feel comfortable enough to join in with his motions. We both can't stop laughing with our goofy dance moves. Soon enough some of the colorful lights end up on Charlie's face and I stop dancing. He looks at me, still smiling. "What's wrong?" He shouts over the music. A smile grows on my face as the beat starts to drop in the song, the alcohol tingling through my body. I lean over and press my lips to his ear, my hands wrapping around his waist. "Can I kiss you?" I whisper and lean back.

I look in Charlie's eyes as a smirk grows on his lips. His arms wrap around my shoulders as he quickly closes the gap between our bodies. His one hand makes its way from my shoulder to the back of my head, his fingers sliding through my hair. He takes a few strands of my hair in between his fingers before pulling my hair, crashing our lips together. I immediately let a small moan escape my lips with the roughness. I tug his hips to mine as our kisses get more and more intense, both of us ignoring the fact that we are in a public setting. I feel Charlie's one hand move from behind my shoulder to under my shirt, his nails softly brushing my lower back. I can't help but sigh against his lips in satisfaction. Charlie giggles against my lips before pulling back slightly. "Hmm?" I ask.

He looks at me, a grin growing on his lips. I squint my eyes, a smile growing on my face with how he is looking at me. He doesn't say anything, instead he moves his hand from my back and lazily moves it around my hip and down my leg until his brushes my front. My hip buckles slightly when his places his hand on my full erection. My eyes widen and I start to get a little embarrassed. I am about to take a step back, almost letting go of Charlie entirely but he takes his other hand to grab mine. He moves my hand, placing it on his erection. With my touch he lets out a small moan before smiling. This causes my embarrassment to quickly vanish and I pull Charlie by his hips to meet mine, crashing our lips together fiercely.

We make out for a few minutes until I am about to climax. "Char." I exhale into his mouth. He pulls back smiling. "Sorry." He says as he steps back, letting me go entirely. I think he's about to turn around but I grab his hand and step back up to him. "Can we continue this tonight at your place? Some place a little more private." I ask, my face flushing. He slowly looks up from the ground to my eyes. "I would really like that." He says a shy smile on his face. I lean forward and kiss his cheek before dragging him to the left side bar. We order another round of drinks before walking back to the group.

Right as we sit down, Tao grabs my wrist. "If I have to do this, so do you." He groans as he drags me up from the chair. Isaac, Otis, Sai, and Christian are walking on the stage. "Oh no. No Tao. I can't sing." I try stopping him from dragging me up the stairs to the stage. "They are making me do it so I am making you do it. Here." He hands me a tall shot glass that he was holding. I take a breath before swigging it back. I sigh as we walk up the stairs. I awkwardly stand there while they set the music up. I try to look into the crowd and I see Charlie, who is standing on booth cushions so he can see over everyone who is standing. "I hate this." I whisper to myself. "Get over it, Cap. We have money on us winning the crowd over." Sai says, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I roll my eyes and a few seconds later the opening beats of ABBA's Dancing Queen comes on and I can't stop laughing into the microphone he's holding.
