Annabeth's POV
"Guess what!" I shouted as soon as Percy slammed his locker, effectively scaring him.
"Jesus, Annabeth! Don't do that!" He shook his head, chuckling afterward. "What?"
Normally, I would have actually made him guess, but this news was just too big and I needed to tell someone, now. "Piper is coming to New York!" I shouted excitedly. I usually wouldn't show this much excitement, but I really couldn't hold it in.
"No way!" Percy said completely turning to me, the biggest smile on his face.
"YES FUCKING WAY!" I yelled before grabbing Percy in a bone-crushing, chokehold-ish hug. He wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me back. For some reason, this boosted the elated feeling I had at the moment.
"Can't breath." Percy choked out.
"Sorry," I pulled away. "I'm just really excited." I was still beaming.
"I can tell." He laughed. "How? When is she coming?" Percy readjusted his book bag strap on his shoulder.
"Well, Piper's dad has a project here that he'll be working on for a while. Her dad has a house here so they'll be staying there and she says that we should all hang out as soon as she gets in tomorrow." I explained.
Percy nodded. "Okay, sounds good. But, you say 'all' is if there's more people." He furrowed his eyebrows in question.
"Oh, well, Hazel's coming as well. Her mother recently passed, and she's not old enough to live on her own. She hasn't found any luck with foster homes or even being adopted in San Francisco, so she wants to try here." I finished.
"Oh, that sucks. I hope she has some luck here." Percy said apologetically. "Leo's had some trouble in the past so maybe he can be a friend?" Percy shrugged.
"Yeah, I'm sure he'll be happy to. We'll have to introduce them. Also, Jason is coming." I said.
Percy's expression hardened for a split second. "Okay." He nodded.
I raised an eyebrow skeptically. "You're not... jealous, are you?" Honestly, I don't know what I would do if he was, because that could mean that he likes me and I just figured out how I feel and that would be a lot to take in, especially because I don't really do feelings.
"What? No, no." Percy reassured, and suddenly he was back to his smily self.
"Ok. Good." I smiled back.
"Now come on, Chase. Let's get to your favorite class; Math." Percy smiled at me.
I rolled my eyes and groaned. "This," I started, falling in step next to Percy. "Is going to be a long ass day."

"That's awesome, Annie!" Leo exclaimed.
I glared at him. "What did I tell you about calling me 'Annie'?" I demanded more so than asked.
Leo gulped. "Right, sorry." He paused before smiling brightly again. "But that's still awesome!"
"I know right! I have a friend Hazel I think you might like." I said. "All you guys need to come to Piper's house tomorrow night. We're all hanging out as a little, 'reunion.'" I said, quoting Piper from before when we were on the phone.
"Ok, I'm down." Leo agreed.
"I'm pretty sure I'm free." Reyna also obliged. She's been better since the whole party accident. At first, she was sort of distant from Percy, and not really the friendliest, but when you get rejected, you're not really going to be best friends with your rejector.
But what puzzled me was that she was also sort of strange with me. I mean, I didn't do anything to her that I know of, so why was she avoiding me? At times, she would even look at me like she wished she could be me, or even just be in my position. I don't know why, though.
But it didn't matter now, because things were all good, and everyone was friends. Reyna seemed to get over it, which I was thankful for, because she could be pretty cool and I actually enjoyed having her as a friend. But we were all over it now, so there's no point in hanging onto the past.
"Alright, I'll let Piper know." I said, looking at all of my friends. I turned to Percy just in time to see him get slapped in the back of the head. I I stood up to face the asshat who had just hit Percy.
Lo and behold stood the king of all asshats.
Castellan.
"Fuck off, Luke." Percy said. "Annabeth, it's fine sit down." He said, looking up at me.
"No, it's not fine. This fucking dipshit has been pissing me off since day one." I glared at Luke. I would have said something about the fact that I was sick and tired of him picking on Percy, but I decided that would be embarrassing.
"What did you just call me?" Luke narrowed his eyes at me. His cronies stood behind him trying to look intimidating. I will admit, they would scare a normal kid, but I was nowhere near normal.
"A dipshit. And an asshat. And a douchebag. Shall I go on?" I asked, flashing him a fake smile.
"You're a bitch." He snarled.
I smiled. "Sure. Now, are you going to walk away on your own, or am I gonna have to make you limp away?" I threatened. I glared straight into his eyes, moving forward to get in his face a bit. His cronies suddenly became alert, looking ready to defend their douchebag of a master at a moment's notice.
"I didn't come here for you, Chase." He starred straight at me with those icy blue eyes. "Let Jackson fight his own battles." Then he turned to Percy.
"Leave him alone." I turned to face Percy as well. He just kept his head down, not shaming anything.
"You gonna let your little girlfriend defend you, Jackson?" Luke taunted, his voice hushed, though I'm sure everyone heard it—they had all gone silent, focusing on us.
"I said, leave him alone, you asshat." I grit my teeth as luck grabbed the back of Percy's sweat jacket, forcing him to stand.
"You gonna stop being a little bitch and man up?" Luke said a little louder.
Quicker than lightning, Percy spun, sending a right hook straight to Luke's jaw. Luke stumbled back, clutching his face.
Holy shit.
Percy can throw a punch.
He just got even hotter.
Wait, what?
I stood there in awe, as did everyone else. Percy's face just remained neutral. No one dared to move.
"You fucking jackass!" Luke charged.
Percy waited until the last second, sidestepping and completely avoiding Luke, who flew straight into the table.
A chorus of "Ooh!"s filled the room. Leo and Reyna stood up to avoid Luke. Leo was whooping, "Hell yes, Percy!" with a huge smile on his face.
But Luke wasn't finished.
And neither was I.
I had gotten over any shock I felt and quickly analyzed the situation. Luke had quickly recovered, and was about to go at Percy again. I realized that his cronies could help Luke, so I went to step at Luke.
His goons immediately came to me, just like I had planned. They grabbed my arms, but I quickly twisted out of their grip. They continued trying to grab me, but I dodged and blocked and attacked. Things were going exactly as I wanted; I was distracting them, giving Percy a good chance. Eventually, I was able to get them off me by punching one in the nose, probably breaking it, and by roundhouse-kicking the other straight in the stomach. Everyone seemed to love that one.
I was finally able to put my focus back on Luke. He and Percy were now in a full-on fist fight, throwing back and forth. Percy kept dodging everyone of Luke's throws, and occasionally threw some punches himself. Luke, however, dodged. I had to admit, Luke was good, but so was Percy.
From the corner of my eye, I spotted half of the football team walking up to us, ready to fight at Luke's side. It was probably because of some stupid 'pact' shit that football teams have. Although, half of the team was smart enough to stay away, considering I just took out two of them.
I counted five of them, three coming at me, and the other two going to help Luke with Percy. Though, the two heading towards Percy were quickly stopped by Reyna, who jumped in and began fighting just like I had. I couldn't help the smile on my face.
It was quickly replaced by a scowl as I stood from dodging a swing by a brown haired kid. The other two advanced, trying to grab my arms. I punched and kicked and dodged until they were all on the floor. But not before getting hit myself.
They had gotten a few punches in on my stomach, and my shoulder. The adrenaline seemed to wash out the pain, though.
I quickly recovered and saw Reyna handling herself quite well. Leo had also jumped in, distracting one of the goons after Reyna by hitting him, then running and jumping all over the place, saying things like, "Don't mess with my friends! I'm Super-Sized McShizzle!" and, "We'll mess you up!"
I shook my head before turning to help Percy. He was managing, but I could see he was getting tired. I had been in enough fights to gain the stamina and energy of an Olympic track-runner.
Percy caught one of Luke's punches and shoved him back, causing him to stumble into me. I quickly spun him around and punched him in the jaw. That only seemed to piss him off after throwing him off for a second. He then did something that I wasn't expecting—he brought his knee up, straight to my stomach.
I doubled over, the air knocked out of me. Suddenly everything hurt. I crumbled to the floor, hearing Percy yell my name from behind. Black spots danced across my vision, and those punches the goons got in before hurt even worse. Luke went to kick me again, but I found it in me to roll away into a kneeling position just in time to see Percy rush in, completely raging, and punch Luke straight in the temple, effectively knocking him out.
And then everything went black.
