-Interlude- Impromptu Meeting
As both Sora and (Y/n) walk back to (Y/n)'s home, they are unaware that a person wearing a black coat was watching from afar atop a building. Most specifically the school. Their face was covered by their hood and not many would see them given it was late in the day and the school has been emptied. The figure then enters a Corridor of Darkness and disappears from the area...
Only to then reappear in the city, on top of a major building.
They watch over the area as the sun finally sets on the horizon, and night slowly overtakes. Busy streets, lights trying to illuminate the darkness, and people waking down below to get where they need to be. From the height the figure was at, they all looked like tiny ants. The figure couldn't help but watch, enjoying every little detail, like how someone would appreciate all the things from something so simple... like a flower.
"Honestly, even now you're still up to keeping watch
over the little things." A female voice is heard before another figure comes out of a Corridor of Darkness. She has blonde hair, her eyes yellow like a heartless, but her personality was filled with sass.
"It's a new world Larxene, one we haven't been to before. Can you blame me for wanting to take in the sights?" The figure says, the voice sounding gruff like a male. The figure removes their hood and a male with a eyepatch, a ponytail with grey hair, and his one eye yellow just like Larxene.
"Just because you were brought back into the Organization, Xigbar, doesn't mean you get to laze about on missions." Larxene says, sounding annoyed at Xigbar's actions. Xigbar however just scoffs. "I've done my mission already. I was sent to keep an eye on our number thirteen." He smirks.
"And just who will you be referring to? Sora, the one who was originally going to be the thirteenth? Or that kid he's been following around?" Larxene asks, but still sounding annoyed. Xigbar shrugs however and looks down below from the building he is on. "Doesn't really matter, just comes down to who we get first." He says but Larxene sighs.
"Well what are you going to do? Not like you're just gonna stay in the shadows and watch. Are you even planning to take action?" She asks. "Of course, when the time is right. Every marksman needs to get that perfect shot. You can't just shoot without analyzing the conditions." Xigbar says as he moves away from the edge of the building.
"Oh really? And just what type of analysis are you doing?" Larxene asks as she crosses her arms, not buying a bit of Xigbar's words. "Seems the boss's recent experiment can't use all of his abilities in this world. Can't use Dream Eaters." Xigbar says and Larxene puts her hands to her hips. "Okay? So he can't summon his little pets. Is that it?" She asks but Xigbar shakes his head. "I don't expect you to know this since you weren't in the sleeping worlds, but Dream Eaters, be is Spirits or Nightmares... they can be pretty unruly if you're not careful. Sure they are fine for companionship... but those guys are made of something else entirely. If anything, if we're not careful that boy would summon an army. But thankfully luck's on our side for that." Xigbar smiles
"Okay yeah I get it. Good for us. But when you said some of that kid's abilities can't be used, you didn't say all." Larxene crosses her arms once more, her face showing a scowl. "The kid can still use magic, and from the old man's little experiment not only does the brat seem to have gotten stronger... he even knows more powerful spells." Larxene says as she grits her teeth, knowing this will be trouble for them.
"Don't you worry." Xigbar assures Larxene. "Magic from someone who isn't a keyblade wielder can't use magic like that forever. Sure the kid's got powerful magic, but he doesn't have the reserves to keep it up for long. Plus without a keyblade to channel that power, that magic is just going to siphon his stamina faster than we can think." Xigbar smirks. "Besides, don't you forget. This world is one between light and darkness. Things can happen here much differently than in our worlds. Like for instance... I can sense a very powerful Heartless. Just lying in slumber waiting to be released." Xigbar smirks.
Larxene raises her eyebrow and tries to focus for a presence with such power. She eventually finds it and finds its coming from a singular person. She moves to the edge of the building to find the person, who was actually a teen, walking the streets alone. She doesn't know them personally, but many do. She watches from above and Xigbar points to the teen. "That kid is named Budo. He's a tough guy, doesn't want to be seen weak. But ever since an incident that, in this world's time, happened a few days ago... something changed. Then a few days later... this world fell to darkness, and the world was all for the taking for the Heartless." Xigbar's smirk does not fade.
"Sure, many of the Heartless that physically inhabited the world during its fall from grace are gone. But some still remain... and they infiltrated the hearts of those with negative emotions. So they can feed of that very negativity... and become stronger. After all, the stronger someone has hatred for someone or something... the bigger it grows... until it is unstoppable." Xigbar pauses and looks to Larxene.
"So... that kid is basically a feeding ground of negativity and the Heartless is just in his heart... waiting to come out?" Larxene asks to confirm and Xigbar nods. "All we have to do is wait until then. Once that Heartless is out... that's when we launch the barrage and whittle them down one by one." Xigbar says as he moves away from the edge once more, with Larxene following suit.
"And just how long do you expect that to take?" Larxene asks. Xigbar pauses for a moment and turns to Larxene and gives her a shrug. "Beats me. It could take a day. Maybe two? Maybe a week? Who knows." Xigbar says with dismissal, causing Larxene to groan out of annoyance. "Honestly... how the old man can deal with you is beyond me..." she says with scorn, but Xigbar didn't bat an eye and just walks away.
"Just be patient. I know you ain't into that sort of thing but it will pay off. Promise." Xigbar says before leaving through a Corridor of Darkness. Larxene sighs and takes a quick look at the sky. Even though she is in another world, the sky is still indeed the same. Thoughts go through her head. Some good and some bad, but none of them matters in the big scheme of things. With that she summons a Corridor of Darkness and walks through, leaving the area behind.
All that remained... was just the blissful noises of the busy city. But who knows how long until this turns into a deafening silence.
