Authors note : hi guys my target for Reads is 300 hope you guys can make it happen . This is just a filler chapter so it's not very interesting by the next couple of one's after this is where the story really begins.  Thanks❤💙

So yeah the day couldn't of had a worse start but being with megan was okay but of course jack had something to say about basically everything.  Jay as usual was silent and only nodded or shook his head when we got answers .

The quiz that they were doing was when you had to walk around the island and find objects and write a bit about them like the castle you had to go there and right things like how old it was.

They had to head back in 5 minutes to be ready to get off the island before the tide came back in. They had one more thing to get.

Jack had been strutting around the island all day , he thought he knew where everything was but really he had no idea.

"Well I think we should go this way" jack said arrogantly pointing to the right . The thing was jack had no common sense so no one was going to follow him to the middle of no where.

Jack started walking off to the right straying away from the path. The others just stared and watched him go.

Realising the others weren't following him he stopped in his tracks and spun around " come on or we won't get back in time"

The others held there ground  . Megan was the first one to break the tension " we are not going that way we'll just follow the path while you go and get lost in the woods".

"Well I looked at the map and it says go this way"

Quinn laughed out hysterically "you were looking at the map upside down you idiot".

Jack stared at quinn with disbelief. His face turned a bright pink and he looked quite similar to a cartoon pig; he knew he was wrong.

Megan spoke again with a sense of urgency this  time " right now that that's over can we please get going we have to be back in 1 minute and it's a 7 minute walk from here back to the  bus".

They all nodded in  agreement and set off at a sprint for the bus . Quinn was in the lead closely followed by megan and then jay and jack was already walking after about 1 minute of running . They all stopped and waited for him while they caught there breath. Jack , now back to looking like a french bulldog , had sweat running down his forehead in glistening droplets .

" come on jack or we'll never make it back on time".

"Well since I'm at the back you guys just do a fast walk and I'll catch up" they all walked on at a fast pace waiting for jack lumping along behind them . The trees were waving at them in the wind and there branches stretching into wide grins.

Jack was starting to catch up now as they briskly walked down the winding  path back to the mini bus . As they turned a sharp bend they saw awaiting for them the teacher that jane had knocked over.

"Where in God's name have you four been , you do realise the cross between the main land and holy island closes on both sides in 2 minutes. Oh just get in we're already running late". They all hopped into the bus  searching the rows of people they finally spotted who they were looking for, Leo and Jane they slumped down in the double seat in front of them exhausted from the way back. "You almost missed the bus where were you ?" Whispered Leo .

Jane answered Leo's question "we got held up by jerk face over there who thought he was going the right way but in reality he was looking at the map upside down"

Leo and Jane burst out to laughter slowly clapping there hands almost in time.

As if jack knew what they were talking about he turned around like a bullet flying through the air and gave them a long cold hard stare. The sweat was still dripping down his  forehead.

There bus flew down the road swerving to avoid the occasional bird or wildlife . They were going way past the speed limit , they rounded a corner  and then everyone was throne forward in there seat from the sudden halt of the rumbling bus.

The strip of land that went from the island to the main land had vanished in its place was water and breaking waves as far as the eye could see.

Out stretched before them was a red and white pole with a stop sign attached to it.

Next thing they all new they were in a near by Inn for the night which the school had organised at the last second, since they were supposed to be going back home tonight but quinns group was to slow.

Everyone called there eager parents on payphones to tell them they would be staying the night. Many parents demanded to speak to the teachers to know what was going on but they just told them there had been an early tide and all the shouting at them wasn't going to fix anything .

After a while it started to settle down everyone had had something to eat and had phoned there parents.
The sofa's in the reception were long and soft , when you sat down you would sink in your seat and it would feel like you were sitting on a cloud.

After they had all sat down a teacher had given them there room keys and told them who they would be sharing. Fortunately Quinn , jane and megan where together but the bad news was that Leo had to share with the finchley twins on the top floor . So their plans to have adventures were now way harder  than before.

Megan marched up the stairs in the lead with Quinn and jame just behind her. The stairs were very wide and the carpets that lay atop of them were kept in place by a gold metal bar.

With every step that they took the floorboards creaked underneath them. Each step was closer to there door the grand decor of this hotel and the brass metal lion knocker made it feel like it was hundreds of years old.
This place felt like it had been calling to them and that they had meant to be here , for no   one said anything but they all new what each other was thinking because the same expression had crossed all three of there faces. What Was this that they were Feeling? Why did they feel like they belonged here?
