Story:
It was unbelievably loud in the canteen. People sitting everywhere and their talkative mouths were moving like there was no tomorrow. Not even a gunshot would have been heard over this chaos. However, Quinn sat quietly and not so much as a peep had even escaped her lips. She barely noticed the people on her table as her mind was somewhere else and she didn't want them to know that anything was getting to her.
Across from her on this cheap plastic table was the person who had stopped her getting into trouble and cut her short of dealing jack another blow. His name was Leo Cage
one of Quinn's best friends , his hair lay on his head short and coal black his face defined and his eyes shone an electric blue , they were unusual but safe and when she looked into them Quinn felt as though the whole world stopped and it was like no one else was there but the two of them. Leo's eyes sunk into his head with a look of fatigue and a hint of disappointment.
Quinn straightened up and said, "thank you Leo and I'm sorry if I hurt you or got you into any trouble".
His gleaming eyes came off of his food and onto Quinn's sad face . " you didn't hurt me I just didn't want you to get in trouble".
"Thanks, Leo we'll always take care of each other and the rest in the group, and Leo thanks for always being there for me".One second she was staring over Leo's face taking in his happy expression and looking at the others then darkness fell over her she stiffened up and could feel cold engulfing her wrapping its arms around her like the greet of an old friend. She tried to open up her heavy eyelids but she could not no matter how hard she tried. The flowing of water reached her ears it was like the reassurance of safety to her like Leo's eyes. She tried and tried for many minutes to open her eyes getting more scared every time it didn't work. She gave up trying to open her eyes and thought to herself, maybe I could move my arms to try to get a grasp of my surroundings. She was ready to heave her arm up but there was no need it felt as light as a feather and her arm glided into the air, it worked it had really worked.
Quinn, wanting to get up ,rolled over clumsily onto her belly and crawled towards the sound of the gushing river. The sound filling her ears making her feel as if there had never actually been any sound other than this. She crawled on and on her arms now aching with fatigue, she gave all her strength and stumbled forward as her hand hit the water it felt like a thousand little needles were attacking her hand and at this moment her eyes snapped open. There was no warm electric blue of Leo's eyes, she was alone she didn't know where she was or how she got here but she was certain that apart from the deceiving sun in the sky on this day. Nothing good could come of this.
