Maa, i dont want pickles. My luggage is not oilproof. " I said folding my clothes as roughly as i could. As planned, i was to return Bhuvaneshwar as soon as possible. The excuse for extra classes worked well for Dad. He never conjectured my plans of sqandering time with Ayan. Mother was reluctant but bhaiya was thrilled by the news of me quitting the house before the date.
"Dont worry, i will pack it properly. You go and tidy up yourself. Dad is waiting." Maa said tightening the cap of oily jar.
"Why are you going so early farha? See i bought these costly water park ticket for you." Bhaiya threw the tiny bit of colourful coupon over my knapsack.
I picked it up and read it with disgust. "Your grandchild will enjoy this expired water park tickets, idiot" I said tearing it up in peices. Bhaiya smirked devilishly.
"Should i aslo go along with dad to drop you to station." He made an earnest request.
"No need, instead you go and fill up my waterbottle." I said directing him towards the empty bottle kept on the table. He merrily went his way downstairs as if his soul will be liberated today after i leave the home.
I came out of washroom and found everything arranged. Maa is a robot. "Have your senses working throughout the journey. Keep a vigil on your baggage and keep away your earphones while you are sleeping." She instructed. "After reaching your room, don't forget to take out the eatables. They may rot inside your bag."
I smiled back in compliance and said, " I love you maa."she twisted my ear "Did you listen what i said. There is no time for your showcase of affection now." She grumbled.
"But there is plenty of time to hug you now." I said and took her into my arms. Her sickly figure engulfed by my arms.
"You have'nt oiled your hair?" She said caressing it with her week hands.
I pulled up back. "Now no more instruction, maa. I will be leaving in few minutes."
"May the evil eyes that torture my doll, rest in peace. Love you my girl." Only mothers have the copywright to curse. I kissed her on her cheeks and I smiled. Dragging my heavy luggage down the stairs i waved her.
The train arrived. I climbed up the the step clinging on to the door's handle. I took my seat and through the window i could see my old father reliving his dreams. I waved to him and he waved back. Quite similar to the days when i went for rides in school carnivals and he rejoiced at my happiness. His figure diminished with speeding train. Am i still a child? I thought and plugged in my earphones.
