Is he a direction or a distraction? First he gifts me paintbrushes and i weary myself all night to paint a perfect portrait. Next, he invites me to play tennis and i kill myself with unnecessary practice everyday. I keep juggling my schedule. At one time i want to be a budding Michelangeo and then suddenly remmember about my incomplete assignments. I doze off between classes and sleep soundly during lunch break. I avoid my friend circle and cuddle up in bed after dinner just to stare at the blank walls of my room with wide semicircle on my face.

Remembering the summer mornings when ayan and I used to go round the backyard collecting raw mangoes. Picking and counting each. The ones which were never given the chance to turn yellow. The old rusty swing which creaked whenever we mounted on it. The blackberries which made marks on fresh cemented floor and his everlasting footsteps that went to pickup the heavenly fruit. Each day was beautiful. Each night was bliss. It seems like yesterday and waking up i find that we are now just mere specks of dust in the air and if the wind favours we will land on the same surface.

Where everybody around me demands me to grow up he alone tries to pull out the child inside me. May be that is why i am attracted to him. He makes me live. He calms me like the sea waves quench the thirsty shore. He can't be a distraction because he doesn't seek my attention or gets exited when I am around him. Do I matter to him? If no, then why does abandons everything everyday just to be with me for an hour or two. I have seen him cancelling plans and avoiding his collegues when I am with him. After the first day, never did he allow his friends to play tennis with me. He is possessive but without being aggressive. He cares but doesn't want to admit. He loves but doesn't want to commit.
