Seventeen

I was pretending to sleep. I get up. I make sure everyone else is asleep. Everyone was snuggling up together. They look like a family. And then there was me. Am I a part of this? I don't even know them really. I don't even know me. I let a breath.

I creep out of the tent. I creep through the village. Most people were asleep which was good for me. I creep to my banshee. I bond with him.

"C'mon." I say.

We launch into the sky. I look up at the star speckled sky. The stars were like crystals in a dark cave. I feel the light breeze. I see the see lighting up with color like a meadow. I fly in closer to the water. I lower my hand into the water. It feels warm like a bright sunny day. The water is a clear as a song.

I find the forest. I fly through the trees. I fly into the pit. The pit surrounded my dead trees. The pit where I was awakened or born.

"You're back child." Her voice whispered through the shadows.

I hold up the golden staff. She comes out of the shadows. She was dressed in black fabric. She was more covered than the rest of the Na'vi that I've seen. She had feathers on her collar. Her hair was braided and lined with white beads. She wore a necklace made of bone and feathers. She looks old but beautiful. I just stare at her.

Her hand moves around my chest hole. I wince.

"Shh. Do not fret. Did you bring it?" She asked.

I give the shard to her. She takes it. She crushes it. She walks over to the well in the middle of the pit. She puts it in. I come up from behind her. I stare in utter amazement. I watch the water change. It changed to a florescent glowing purple see flower.

"Eywa." She smiles.

"Who's that?" I ask.

She turns to me.

"No one of your concern." She said.

She turns back. She moves her hand over it. The image in the water fades.

"That is where you will find the fire child." She says.

She lifts my head up with her hand.

"Ohe see ngenga." She says.

"I see you." I respond.
