EVANGELINE MONTGOMERY COMMENCES GREAT CLEANSING; SEVERAL INJURED, TWELVE DEAD AND COUNTING.

Evangeline Montgomery (pictured above), former head of the Department of Animagus Registration, has officially been charged with the murder of twelve witches and wizards. Evidence also points to her being associated with the death of approximately eighteen Muggles, although it is unclear if she killed them herself or was an accomplice to their murders. Among her victims are her own sister, Eleanor Finch, and two Aurors who answered the distress call.

St. Mungo's staff wasn't spared either, the Healers on-call found slaughtered in their own homes. Aurors can confirm that their deaths pre-dated the other nine, leading to the conclusion that Montgomery killed them first to maximize casualties.

Montgomery's remaining six victims, all claimed throughout the night, are assumed to be victims of chance. Montgomery's actions have lead Aurors to assume she's working underneath He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named and carrying out these acts of terrorism as part of a "Great Cleansing" of the Wizarding World. All of her victims have been Half-Bloods or Muggleborns with the exception of Eleanor Finch, however a witness places Montgomery shouting at her sister for "soiling the family name by marrying that Half-Blood" moments before the death. The Montgomery family has yet to make a formal statement about their eldest daughter's actions and have instead asked for privacy to process the tragedy.

In addition to the murders, Montgomery has left several critically injured, including her three-year-old niece Verity Finch— who Aurors believe was witness to her mother's murder —and the neighboring Wizarding family, the Hawthorne's, were brutally tortured but left alive, likely due to their Pureblood status.

Evangeline Montgomery has evaded authorities thus far. Montgomery is considered highly dangerous and is not to be approached if sighted, instead, contact the Ministry immediately. 

Any information leading to her arrest will met with a reward of 600 Galleons.
